Both frittatas sound just what I was after. Thinly slice the sweet potato?? What temp to cook at - 200 electric? Will pick up some spinach & sweet potato tomorrow am as have everything else, and will try for tomorrow evening.
Big well done to Jere, Sue you are doing a great job - presume you are chief cook and bottle washer so you are doing all the planning?
I have 2 pineapples in the fridge so will be chopping them up to have with the blueberries, have also bought nat yoghurt and will start having fruit with that rather than yogs with loads of stuff added.

we always look after the men in our class and we have a great laugh together[msneek]
Mizzy
Well done Julie, that is great news, you are doing so well. You just have to be patient and the weeks you don't lose keep on plan and you will be rewarded the next week.
Have a good lunch Mizzy, SOME mothers and their sons!
Whizzed round like a BAF this am before I left for work and made the spinach fritatta with red onions (as that was all I had), and we had organic frozen spinach in the freezer so cooked that first in the microwave and then added it to the pan. Also had free range eggs from the farm shop and they usually yummy. Left it all cooling on top of the oven, couldn't taste it without ruining the shape or it, I think I am being very brave taking it along without even knowing what it tastes like!! Will report back tonight!
Had my tabbouleh for lunch today (still keeping to the 10 day mix2match diet) and am hoping for a weight loss tonight. The orange in it made it delicious, made enough for 2 meals, so that's my supper tomorrow night as off to Janny's for lunch[msnsmile2].
Thanks Fiona, and very good luck tonight!!!!
Hope the Fritata tastes OK[msnscared]

well done Julie! see we said this is your pattern!! you stay the same for a week or two or three! then off it comes!! bl**dy well done!! and for keeping at it even tho you have felt so disheartened!!
sorry had a bounty today!! didnt have time for lunch with this running around for the school!! got a bit of a headache so that will teach me!!
will weigh in still on my scales tomorrow i know theyre different to the nurse but i know what it says before!
Hi
just back from mil's and our lunch out, i had the full works turkey, carrots, cauli, brocolli, turnip, 2 roast parsnips, small yorkshire pudding and small serving of gravy, it was lovely[msnsmile2]
i'll be on fruit and maybe a yoghurt for supper as it was a pretty big lunch/tea
Fiona good luck for the weigh in, lets hope both mine and Julie's successes have started a trend and we all lose lots of lbs this week[msnwink]
note to Liesa no bounties on shopping list[msnmad]or else!!!![msnwink]
Mizzy
Mizzy sounds like you had a lovely lunch!
Thanks for all the congrats everyone[clap][clap][clap]
Fiona got fingers crossed for you[grouphug]
Food diary for me on a red day agin.........
Porridge
Pineapple
Skinny latte
Chicken chop house salad
Skinny latte
Bolognese with 1/2 a wrap
2 litres of water[angel]
Got fruits and yogurt for later[msnwink]
I picked up a SW challenge for this week, I have to eat 3 speed/super speed foods every day[clap][clap]
Congratulations Julie, that's amazing.
You girls are having huge losses, I wonder why mine are only in 1 pound lots, I want a big one...ha ha!
Julie what's the 3 speed/super food you mention, can you let us know, as I can't get to classes! Thanks!
Mizzy your MIL sounds a bit like mine, marrying a pom was probably the worst blow, but lately her other Daughter In Law is taking the brunt, so I am off the hook! Don't take that from her Mizzy, I speak out and speak back now, I won't let anyone run me down, especially not my MIL. You will probably find if you tell her to stop being so rude and to back off, she'll be so shocked she will!
Well a whole ½lb, but perhaps after Sunday no wonder! I am keeping on with the mix2match as I enjoy the food on the menus (well most of them) and I think I need something ordered for a couple of weeks.
Fritatta was v tasty, there were quite a few: cheese & apple; red peppers, onion & tomato; cheese & onion; red onion, peppers, mushrooms & courgette; cheese & asparagus and bubble & squeak - no cabbage, made with carrots, courgettes, green beans & potato - not quite sure why it got named bubble & squeak!
Will now be making one more often as even DH wanted to try mine!!
Good luck for tomorrow Liesa, let's hope you've got another good weight loss, and yes - NO bounty in the shopping trolley - try mini packets of buttons - someone was saying try freezing them and eating one at a time.

well done Fiona i think!
had a small dinner of chilli mince and yes i know but white rice, cant do one for him and one for me! then for Russ and Terri and the grandchildren and then something different for Lauren
thought it would be just Steve myself and Lauren for dinner! the rest caught me unawares, my daughter had a nasty headache and could barely talk so we brought the little ones down till there daddy came home from work!![msnscared]
so am tired now and achey!! will weigh myself in the morning!![msneek]
Morning!
Fiona, well-done better off than on and any loss is good, I am sure you will lose more next week so just keep at it!!
Glad the fritata turned out OK![clap][clap][clap]
Theresa,
Green day speed = Pulses, lentils, 28g huumous, fruit apples, pears, oranges, pineapple, veg beans, carrots peppers and toms
Green day super speed = pulses baked beans, broad beans, garden peas, mushy peas, petit pois, fruit grapefruit, melon, raspberries, strawberries, quorn pieces or mince
Red day speed = fish bass, halibut, fruit apples oranges, pears, pineapple, meat turkey, chicken, veg brocoli, mushrooms
Red day super speed = Fish cod, haddock, plaice, fruit grapefruit, melon, strawberries, raspberries, quorn pices or mince[msnwink]
Liesa, good luck and Yes you can do 'one for him and one for me' if you REALLY want to lose it! Or kick your family in to touch and get them to be more flexible with what THEY eat while you lose your weight, if they don't like what you are cooking they can make their own[msnwink][msnwink][msnwink]
Happy healthy eating all[clap][clap][clap][clap]
P.S I think my extra treadmill sessions helped my loss this week too[sporty][sporty][sporty][sporty]

well i think my scales have put 1lb on:( only myself to blame!! i was hoping for a stay the same after a biggie last week, but no excuses starting to drink lots which never helps with the mid monthly bloat, slap my hands!!![V]
Julie i do know what your saying about getting to do one for him and one for me, but yesterday was the exception so many unexpected here had to "throw" many somethings together!!
have got my shopping list organised for tomorrow, so will have a good weight loss next week, maybe i was a bit lapse with myself as the nurse is away? no excuses again, i actually ate less "bad " things this week then before, but im getting the monthly headaches,
good day all!!
Liesa I think you need to sit down and spend an hour or so menu planning, and doing a shopping list. get an old mag with 7 day plan in it or download a menu plan of what ever plan suits you, have a look here this site is very good .........
http://www.edietsuk.co.uk/programs/programs.cfm
also you have SW and WW online
You have the time to do this right, so stop leaving things to chance, get a plan, do a shopping list and succeed no matter how much hard work is involved, if you really want to do it you will, nobody else can do this for you[msnwink]
good morning everyone
Fiona well done on your loss and i know that you probably wanted more but any loss no matter how small is a step in the right direction[msnwink]
Liesa, i can only echo what Julie has said you need to plan and shop, if you have the right foods in the house then you will have to eat those and as like me you like your sweet treats then i would try to build them into your diet, good luck[msnsmile]
Theresa i'm used to the mil now, she has done some really hurtful and unforgivable things in the past, i used to think it was me but no she is like this with all her daughters in law!!!
well it's going to be a red day for me, not sure what i will be having yet so i'm off to check the fridge/freezer to see if i need to pop into morrisons
have a good day everyone

thank you Julie for taking the time with me!!
will definately do this today!! i DO want to lose weight! and its about time i did it properly!!!
so the list wil be written this evening and goods bought tomorrow in weekly shop!! i hate being fat! its a wonder its not more then a 1lb on this week my tummy is bloating now!! it must be the monthly thing its not normally this bad!! and with the mirena coil never know when or for how long!! seems to drain me!! i get so tired these days!! starting to feel my age![msncry]
Liesa I think Julie is giving you some wonderful advice. You really need to plan your menus ahead and shop for the menu, and nothing else. I have a tin I put the kids snacky things for school in, and the only time I go near it, is when I make their lunches, then away it goes again.
Tonight I did spag bog, the kids had normal pasta, I made wholewheat pasta for me. Its a pain, separate pans, more washing up, but I'm prepared to do it for ME!
I had to help at Kindergarten today, there were two lots of birthday cakes, but I passed them up. Felt very proud!
Julie with those speed foods and super speed foods, are they the snacks you have in the day, and what is the difference between speed and super speed. Does it mean you lose the weight faster? Sorry, I'm not up with this bit!!
Food Diary
Porridge
Bacon & Egg Omlette on mixed herbs
Heart Smart Mince (extra extra lean) with wholemeal spaghetti (small fist size ~ healthy extra) on a bed of mixed herbs
Snacks: Orange, Apple, Banana, 2 Plums, Yoghurt for later tonight!
Hi Theresa
i'll answer this one for you, on your free food list some of the foods are classed as speed or super speed foods thats because whilst they are still free, choosing these will help speed up your weight loss
does that help any?
Mizzy
Yes it does! Thank you! I will write them down and purchase any I don't have. So just choose from those lists, not other things, around the meals! I think I got it! Thanks MIzzy!
Theresa, Glad Mizzy has answered for you[msnwink] (she knows SW far better than I do yet[clap])
Liesa thats good to hear!!!!
Well I have been pampered this morning, a little treat for ME I had a pedicure and a waxing[msnembarrased] and the pedicure was lovely and my toe nails look gorgeous!!!
glad thats sorted out Theresa[msnsmile]
you are brave Julie, i hate anyone touching my feet[msnscared] glad you had a good morning though[msnsmile]
well i'm on a red day so i've had
my daily actimel and then toast and ginger jam for brekkie
ham salad for lunch followed by figs
i'm planning on morrocan chicken with roasted vegetables for tea and more figs
may have bag of mini honeycomb bites at suppertime[angel][angel][angel]

Well done on your weight loss Julie-that's fantastic! Fiona-there's nothing wrong with a "little"loss-it's better than a gain!
Leisa-It sounds like you're starting to get focussed. It IS difficult to lose weight. I only had a little to lose but found it hard to stay focussed. It's my frame of mind rather than which diet I'm on which seems to determine my sucess or failure.I found it took very little to put me off track and before I knew it I'd gained a couple on pounds[msnembarrased]
At the moment, I'm eating healthily and keeping up with the exercise

Had a really good day diet wise yesterday and will be sticking to the same today.

yes Julie think im doing ok many thanks for yours and everyones help!
am going for a big veggie shop! i know what to do with them!!
Julie the potato curry you made last week, is that ok for me to have? i thought if you were then it should be ok for me? if so any chance of the recipe please?
have always had the chicken curry, never made one from scratch so thinking of that
having a mega bad joints time at present! going for physio/acupuncture desperately need that!! its been working brilliantly on left knee but now the rest of the body is going through a flare up![msncry] pain pain pain and more pain!:(
physio, haircut, shopping, school run finishing dads tonight, typical!! i need to rest!!
I think you need to do something for yourself Liesa, might make you feel better and give you the incentive to keep on target with your diet. Do you fancy having your nails done? Or a facial? Just something to give you a little lift and feel pampered and get you on the right tracks.
I think planning is the key to it, and if I don't plan properly I start slipping down the slope again, and after all we are all doing this because we have problems of one sort or another in relation to food!
Lovely day yesterday and was lovely to see Janny & her husband and a couple of other owners for a good natter and some delicious (but slimming!) food.
Today I am having another whizzing round day, just off out with the hounds, got to nip into work, then back home briefly to take YD to station and then off to Slough to change over some of the stuff I bought last week from TK Maxx which I didn't like once I got it into the showroom. Have to get to the farm shop, pet shop, Waitrose and if possible the gym as well, so am really going to have to get my skates on.
Hot water with lemon (I would like to say it was a choice but actually it is because I have run out of Lady Grey tea bags - although I am SURE I bought some at the weekend - more senior / chemo moments[msnembarrased]!) with lemon and a banana. Tabbouleh for lunch and salmon & salad for supper.
Have a good day peeps.
Fiona I am exhausted reading your day today....good luck.
Its amazing the amount we woman managed to fit into a day, we're amazing!
Diary - green day
Porridge (I am going to start sprouting oats soon)
Wholemeal Spaghett, with a tomato & herb sauce, with chopped up veggie sausage thrown in.
Roast Beef, boiled potato, green beans
Fruit, low cal biscuit, and yoghurt.
Its weird having Roast Beef on a green day, I guess the beef is a healthy extra, but it was in this week's menu plan!

Took Caitlin for her Clarinet exam this morning. When we arrived there she was told she could go and practise in a little room. 20 minutes later she came back to the waiting room and she had finished the exam.......without a good luck kiss and hug from her Mum[msncry][msncry][msncry]
She seemed pretty confident she had done well.
Just had weetabix for breakfast and fruit and special k bar for lunch. I am having minted lamb cutlets for tea and I'm drooling just thinking of them.
Motivating article for Liesa..........
Even if you’re adhering to the best diet plan and the most effective exercise routine, if the people around you aren’t providing you a strong support network, you may still find it difficult to succeed at losing weight.
If you are concerned that your friends and family may not be the most supportive group, don’t fret. We have the help you need in seeking encouragement that can help you get to your weight-loss goals:
Spell it out.
If your spouse or kids haven’t been providing the encouragement you want, it may be because they don’t know what you want. Sit down with them and explain what they can do to help you. Be as specific as possible. For example, you might say, “It would help if you could ask me twice a week how I’m doing on my diet,” or “Please, try to tell me I’m doing really well at least once a day.”
Remind them that actions speak louder than words.
Make sure your friends and family are aware that it’s not just their words that can help or hinder your efforts, but their actions, too. Explain how eating ice cream in front of you makes it harder for you to keep your resolve, while helping you prepare meals or eating the foods you do can go a long way to helping you succeed. You may be surprised at how much your loved ones are willing to do to help.
Double or triple up.
Don’t rely too heavily on one person. No matter how close you are, he or she won’t be around all the time. Instead, round up support from several sources. It’s okay to ask three different friends to call and check in with you once a week. If you feel you need more accountability, have each friend ask you what you ate that day. Your best bet is to recruit one support person from home, one from work and one you see socially.
Recruit a buddy.
Perhaps the best way to elicit strong support from someone close to you is to go through the experience together. If your spouse or a good friend needs to lose some weight, too, encourage him or her to start the diet with you. Explain that doing it as a team would be a good experience and that you could help each other with meal planning, etc. When the going gets tough, you’ll have each other to lean on.
Support yourself.
Don’t forget one very important person in this network – you! You can be your own biggest cheerleader by patting yourself on the back when you’ve done well, rewarding yourself with a manicure or an outfit in a smaller size when you’ve had a good week and just keeping a positive attitude overall. Remind yourself that you should be proud of every good meal you eat and each exercise session you complete.

Hi Everyone
i like the article Julie, i think a lot of people on here will find that helpful
i have a diet buddy but she has been awol for the last few weeks, when we started out together in jan she asked me to promise that i would nag and pester if she starts to waiver off the plan
so for the last 3 weeks i have nagged, pestered, and generally become a bloomin nuisance and it's obviously paid off as i have just had a lovely e.mail saying how all my e.mails and texts have helped to keep her on track and even though she is still snowed under at work she will be back at mondays class and expects a loss of about half a stone[msnsmile2]
i am having a red day today so had usual toast and jam for brekkie and have just had a breakfast for lunch (bacon, sausage, eggs, mushrooms and tomatoes)
i have a morrisons chicken chasseur for tea (2.5syns) so i just need to knock up a few veggies then i'm all set
Mizzy
Another very good day.........red day food dairy........
Porridge
Skinny latte (healthy a choice)
Chicken tikka pieces with yog mint dressing
3 plums
Skinny latte (healthy a choice)
Tunna steak gargrilled with toms and SW chips (healthy b choice)
2 litres of water[angel]
Melon and yog for later[clap]

have taken my family inline about the slimming!! nobody is to get me treats of any kind now! i will get my own as and when i feel i have deserved one!! (:D)
Steves dieting has slipped over the last few weeks so will get him more motivated!![msnwink]
kerrie and Andy have been doing weight watchers for the last 6 weeks i think, Kerrie has lost another 1lb this week, so thats 8lb now, Andy has lost 25lbs, not massive but he is tall, he looks younger now!!! and hes only just 24!!

Thank you Julie
another busy day today, going to be a sad one, the teachers leaving in Laurens class to have her first much wanted baby, we're delighted for her, but sad as we love her to bits! going to have a gathering this afternoon, coffee morning at school today, then back to asda,
have a good day all!!
Morning all from a wet Melbourne evening here! Had a nice sunny day, but this storm moved in so fast. I think it must be all the cyclones hitting us on both sides of Australia at the moment!
Food Diary
Porridge
Veg Sausages, Mushrooms & Egg on bed of salad (weird combo....but nice)
Pad Thai SW style.....yummo it was too!
Fruit & Natural Yoghurt, Skinny Cap, plums
Tomorrow I have a bit school night out at an Italian Restaurant, so it will be either pizza or pasta. I was thinking of a red day with either pasta or pizza base as a green extra. What do you think I should order. Pizza & Salad (one big slice) or a Pasta (entree size)???
Good Morning
well i've been rushed off my feet for the last 24hrs getting the final paperwork into place so my daughters PA can start work[clap]
i had a good day yesterday and stuck to the food plan [angel]
Theresa i would say either go green and have a tomato based pasta dish then you can have plenty or if you must have the pizza then count it in your syns, as a rough guide Pizza has about 14-16syns per slice (based on a large slice from pizza hut) and it goes up to 24+ syns for stuffed crust types
normally if i going out somewhere and there's going to be food i try to remain "neutral" by having say eggs on toast as my lunch and then decide when i get there as to what to eat
i would also have a snack of fruit and yoghurt before i go just so i'm not starving and then blow it by making the wrong choices
good luck and have a lovely night out
Mizzy
ps where is everyone?[msnsad]
Hiya peeps, did try and post last night but my computer was playing up and it didn't appear!
Didn't get to the gym or farm shop or pet shop yestrerday - they are 4 miles away on the road to Reading and of course I was going in opposite direction when I shot off to Marlow and then Slough, got home at 6.00pm!
DH had arranged a surprise night out for me tonight, but luckily I had bought food for tonight so he had to tell me! I say luckily because otherwise I would have had a meal from my meal plan, but now I know, have had porridge & blueberries for brekkies, just cooking a frittata at the moment (cottage cheese, eggs, peppers, tomato & ½oz cheddar) and can have that with some salad, so will give me some leeway for tonight. Gals are off to a concert in London, so a night out on our own, but I will be duty driver so that means I don't drink[angel].
Have a good day everyone.
I'm here Mizzy, just got home from school run/Sainsburys which was busy even at 9am[msnscared]
My cold is on the mend so felling a bit better[msnsmile]
Fiona I hope you have a wonderful night out[msnwink] Think I might have a Veg Fritata for lunch too[clap]
Hubby is in London for a day long meeting so got to pick him up from Man Airport at 7pm[msnsmile]
Mizzy glad you have got all the paperwork done so you are all ready to go[clap][clap][clap]
Theresa food diary looking good!!!![clap][clap][clap]
Liesa not seen many diaries from you this week???
I am going to do some paperwork for the business now so catch you all later[clap]

Ditto!
Food Diary for me today
green
toast and ginger jam
actimel drink
cheese leek and ham pasta
jacket potato wedges with sweet chilli beans and a fried egg
banana and yoghurt for later
so far so good[angel]
Mizzy
Green day food dairy for me........
Porridge
Skinny latte (healthy choice)
Veg fritata
4 plums
Skinny latte
Potato curry
2 litres of water[angel]
Got melon and strawberries for later[angel]
How much off are you hoping for this week Mizzy, I want 2 lbs off[clap][clap]
well seems i lost 3 1/2 lbs last weeks i'm not expecting anything spectacular
1 or 2lbs would be great[msnwink]
Mizzy[msnsmile2]
True, anything as long as its a loss[msnwink]
Thanks for the tips Mizzy. The neutral lunch sounds like a good idea, then I can decide. I think a green day is probably best, with a tomato based pasta, and then maybe chicken thrown in as a healthy extra! Plus wine though....can't have pasta without wine, well not me anyway [msntongue]
Hope your night out was great Fiona.
Glad you are feeling better Julie!
Liesa I hope you pop in from time to time, for a catch up. You have to do what is right for you Liesa, I know you are in pain with your joints, its a vicious cycle for you. Lots of luck with it all!
I am off to work now, night night to you all, my day is just starting!
Have a great weekend everyone!
Morning all!!!
Lets all have a 'good' Saturday, I know it is so much harder at the weekends but lets stay focused[clap][clap][clap][clap]
xxxxxxxxx
Morning all, lovely meal there, back on track today, porridge & blueberries for brekkies + a slice of fresh pineapple first thing, will have another frittata for lunch just to try and even out last night ([msnwink]) and beef stir fry with veggies for supper. Just off to walk the hounds, have a good day everyone.
Gee I hardly touched me meal! It was the biggest serveo of pasta I ate the meat and seafood out of it!
too tired
talk in morning...nigt night its 2.50 sam!
Fiona and Theresa glad you both had nice meals[msnwink]
Well I have had a very good day today, red today.......
Porridge
Skinny latte (healthy a choice)
No lunch
Skinny latte (healthy a choice)
Tuna ratatouille (Yummy!!)
Almost 2 litres of water[msnwink]
Missed lunch as we were out and about, but had my breakfast late and tea early, got some melon, strawberries and yogurt for later[clap][angel] If I need something heavier I have some cooked chicken on standby in the fridge[msnsmile]
I did 60 minutes on my treadmill as soon as we got home and had my tea straight afterwards so I was very pleased.
It was fab because once I had done 30 mins I got the exercise high which feels great and it was so easy to do the 60 mins[sporty][sporty][sporty]
Really pleased with how my clothes feel and look too[clap][clap][clap]
Have a great evening all, have a good[zzz] Theresa[msnwink]

Hi All
Had a good day today diet wise. Just had tea which was from a ww recipe Beef Tereyaki, it was really lovely. Finished off with some melon.
Feeling a bit bloated and fat today but then it is MY time[msnwink]
Hi
Just a quick catch up
firstly can a say goodnight to Theresa[zzz][zzz][zzz]i wont be long in following you
had very busy day today looking for villa in portugal for oct half term, villa prices are great but unfortunately flights are ridiculously expensive [msncry]
today i have had
actimel drink
toast and marmalade (no ginger jam left)[msnsad]
morrocan chicken with roasted vegetables
gammon and egg for tea with jacket potato
maybe mini honeycomb bites later[angel]if i can stay awake long enough
Paula i'm finding that those actimels drinks are working for me with the bloatedness and sluggish digestive problems i have been having, may be worth a try?
Julie you go girl[sporty][sporty][sporty]Looking Skinny?????[msnwink]
catch you all tommorow
Mizzy[msnsmile2]
I started on the actimel yesterday on Thurs as fed up with bloating, has the desired effect! 2 walks with the hounds today but am intending to get to the gym tomorrow, forgot to eat my breakfast but did enjoy my frittata - changed the recipe slightly to see if I could get it to rise more and it did - added another egg, think I need to beat the cottage cheese in a bit more to get a smoother texture. DH is cooking supper tonight - spending his formative years in Hong Kong means he thinks he is the authority on chinese chow in our household - and guess what I am not going to disabuse him!
thought for the day!!

Hi girls ( and boys[msnwink])
Do you mind if I join you?
I am trying to lose weight on SW plan without joining.......again, so I am looking elsewhere for motivation.
I first did Slimming World in 1988 when I weighed 12st 2lb and got down to 9st 5lb.....right now I'd kill to be 12st 2lb[msnembarrased]
I have rejoined on and off over the years and am usually successful, though each time I am a little heavier than I was at the previous joining and lose a little less weight everytime I give up!
I have a gym membership which I used to use between 3 and 5 times a week, but haven't been for 18 months and still paying £35 a month[msnembarrased]
I have the most painful knees known to man, been under the knife once for them and would like to avoid a return trip, the surgeon told me to lose weight.
Also have a hiatus hernia, guess what the specialist said after the gastroscopy.....lose weight
I want to lose weight before my 50th birthday next Feb, I didn't want to be fat at 40 but I was[msnsad]I certainly don't want to be fat at 50 so this is my last ditch attempt[msnsad]
Before next Feb I have some other milestones that I would like to be a little slimmer for.
Hols in May, a family wedding in July of my nephew to whom I am very close and don't want to look a frump on his photos, then hols again In Nov with a very slim friend!!!
I have adopted Thurs as my weigh in day and after one week I lost 2kg ( I am using the scales at the surgery as they are easier to read, the disadvantage is they weigh in kg[msnsad])so thats 4 1/2 lb....not the start I would have liked but I am sticking with it......wish me luck!:D

Welcome to the club Liz. We have a few girls on here doing SW and very well they're doing too. I have been doing WW and although not as good as some on here it's going OK.
Good luck[msnsmile2]
Welcome Liz and well-done on your weight loss so far[clap][clap][clap]
I over the years have done most plans but I am really enjoying SW I did it for a few weeks on my own and lost a few pounds but joined a class on the 21 Feb 2006 and have lost a further 10lbs so far so thats a stone in total[clap][clap] Would like to lose another stone and a half if possible[msnwink]
I love the eating plan and I am actually really enjoying it, the cooking, the free foods, and to be honest it really does not feel like a weight loss plan - I love it!!!!
I do exercise almost everyday too though even though I have horrible crunchy knees, but I love the 'high' I get from running[sporty][sporty][sporty][sporty]
So its great to have you with us, Mizzy, Fiona, Theresa (down in OZ) and myself are all doing SW and will help you all we can!!![clap][clap][clap]
Welcome Liz, guess what, reading your posting was like listening to myself! (Only I was fat at 40 and even fatter at 50 - again would die to be back at the weight I was last time I started slimming seriously - which was doing Atkins, and I got down to 14 stone and a size 16 and felt so good - weight just dropped off me, so why did I give it up and then put on even more?? I used to weigh ... 9 stone when I was young, if I get down to 11 stone I will be a 12/14, just how slim did I used to be. But I used to think I was fat because I was bigger than my mother (who is not as tall as I am and slighter built with much smaller boobs) and that is probably the key to the whole thing - perception in the family was I was the big one, and lo .... I became the big one literally!
Liz I would be thrilled if I lost 4½lb in a week - but I have tamoxifen to thank for the difficulty (amongst other things .... along with lack of will power, not sticking firmly to the diet and not getting to the gym often enough!) There are 3 of us in my SW group on Tamoxifen and we lose a pound (or half), stay the same, lose another half, put one back on, blah blah, the most tedious thing[msnmad]. Still I am determined to do it this time, so am keeping going - even if I have to postpone my reconstruction from this July to next July. Have to tie in with YD's exam schedule and I cannot mess up her AS and A levels after she went to pieces while I was ill all through her second year of GCSEs. I am the big mouth who told a consultant I could lose 2 stone in 3 months - me and whose army!! 10lbs later ...
Onwards and upwards!
Morning everyone. I have a wee 'head' on me this morning, had 4 glasses of wine...that's so naughty. It was a great night out, I only picked at the pasta, too busy talking. This restaurant is renowned for its 'serves', they are humungous! Anyway I hope I didn't wreck my diet with the wine, but I exercised my jaw all night, talking! Ha Ha!
Welcome to Liz. You will get heaps of motivation from the girls here, and may have some SW tips for us too!
Food Diary yesterday:
Porridge
Scrambled Eggs on Wholemeal Toast
Pasta with calamari, prawns, chicken.
Snacks: Lite Biscuit, Plums, Banana, 4 glasses of wine [msnembarrased]

Thanks for the great welcome girls.
Yes it does seem ungrateful to say I only lost 41/2 lb but I remember the days when the first week of the diet I could lose 7 or 8, It gets so much harder as you get older[msnsad]
When I find my tape measure I am going to do my inches as well as I think that helps when the scales stick.
I really must get into some exercise I am sure it would help, but I am always so exhausted, and to tell the truth a bit embarrased to go back to the gym after all this time![msnembarrased]
Never mind I had a good day yesterday....... I thought I would do really badly as I had stressful morning due to a clever April fool ( I won't mention names but someone knows
[msnwink])
Green today with the kids coming for Sunday dinner so at least I will cook properly.
Thanks again for the welcome.[msnsmile2]

Not sure Liz but Mizzy will know, I only eat the natural low fat yogurt and add fresh fruits to it, it makes a much bigger portion and is more filling with no artificial sweetners (which they now think make you put on weight due to how it tricks the body[msnscared]) and no additives.
If you want to register online go here

When I used my free post at work it was around £12 for 1 mag[msnwink]
Oh my goodness please don't go sending stuff to Oz, its way too expensive, but a lovely thought though, it really was kind of you to think of me Mizzy.
I am going to try making up my own menu's now that I have used the SW ones.
Its time to step out and make my own up, using some of the lovely recipes on here, and in the mags.
My cousin is returning to UK in July for a couple of weeks holiday, so I am going to get him to bring me back some SW books and mags.
I guess you can buy them in the shops, I will get my Mum to look out for them for me!
Anyway our clocks went back last night, we didn't change them because of the Commonwealth Games.
That coupled, with my very late night last night, means I am falling asleep and its only 9.26pm (or 10.26pm prior to changes)
Night Night everyone, have a lovely Sunday!
night night Theresa

Liz, I was the same until a few years ago when a friend who is a personal trainer said sweetners make you fat, so I did some research and now avoid them totally..........
"Aspartame changes the brain's chemistry. It is the reason for severe seizures. This drug changes the dopamine level in the brain. There is absolutely no reason to take this product. It is NOT A DIET PRODUCT!!! The Congressional record said, "It makes you crave carbohydrates and will make you FAT". Dr. Roberts stated that when he got patients off aspartame, their average weight loss was 19 pounds per person. The formaldehyde stores in the fat cells, particularly in the hips and thighs. Aspartame is especially deadly for diabetics. "
There is an article in this months Slimmer mag titled Sweetners make you fat which is worth a read too.[msnscared]
If you do a google search lots of info comes up[msneek]
Another good day today, had a red day........
Porridge
Fresh Pineapple
Skinny latte (healthy a choice)
Grilled bacon and extra low fat sausage, dry fried eggs, grilled toms
Skinny latte (healthy a choice)
Roast chicken, carrots and 2 potatoes wedges dry roasted, small amount of weak gravy.
Strawberries with low fat natural yogurt
2 litres of water[angel]
Did 60 mins on my treadmill again today[sporty][sporty][sporty][sporty][sporty]
Mizzy any idea how many syns in a cadburys mini egg, they are 15 calories each (the little tiny ones that come in the yellow bag) I may just treat myself to a couple later[msnwink]
Hi Julie

Green Day
Cruncy bran with a banana for brekkie (healthy A and B}
Grapes to nibble til I got home from work
I had planned pasta and tomatoes for lunch but it was late when I got home and didn't want to spoil dinner so I had 2 Carrs water biscuits (3 syns) and a dairylea light triangle (healthy A)with loads of cherry tomatoes and a Muller lite cherry yoghurt.
Dinner was the full monty
Lean roast Lamb (85g as healthy B choice + 1oz at 3.5 syns)
Roast potatoes mashed potatoes, broccoli, cauli, and peas. Gravy (2 syns)
Fresh strawbwerries and fresh pineapple with fat free fromage frais ( sweetened I'm afraid Julie[msnsad])
I drank so much water that I was on the loo all evening:D
PS I treat myself to a different slimming mag every week, so this week it will be "Slimmer" Julie![msneek]
Heres to another good day today, you're all keeping me really motivated...thanks.
Keep smiling everyone[msnsmile2]
Good Morning Everyone
well it's weigh in day for me again[msnscared] and i feel all bloated [msnsad] bl**dy typical!!! i've been fine all week then wake up on weigh day with big tummy[msnmad]
hope i still manage to lose a lb or two
Liz you did fantastic yesterday!!!!!
i'm pretty sure there are some crisbreads you can count as a "b" choice and i know that you can have 6 or 8 laughing cow light cheese triangles as a "a" choice, i can check for you if you want
Julie can really vigorous housework count as exercise?, there's always so much to do in the house that i struggle to fit proper excercise in, after walking the little one to school and blitzing the house i always feel so wacked[msnsad] so any ideas Julie
Mizzy
I won't be weighing myself today as I didn't go into work. Will check in tomorrow night with it instead!
Mizzy feeling wacked is often the cause for not exercising and ironicaly exercise can have the opposite effect if you do it for 30+ minutes, endorphins are realised etc and you get the 'high'.
Vigorous housework is good no doubt about it, but there is something very effective about formal exercise. I know you have some restrictions for medical reasons but I think the best thing you can do is set aside 30 mins a day, the best time for me is just before lunch, get your track suit or appropriate clothes and a pair of trainers on and go out for a powerwalk, do at least 30 mins and then come back and eat lunch[sporty][sporty][sporty] I know something else has to give way while you do this but hey its worth it.
You could also do some light weight resistance training, get a couple of bottles with handles on fill them with water, like Fabric conditioner or the like, and do some bicep curls, also do some squats, and some tummy holds whist doing the hosework.
Have look here for how to do them correctly.......
http://www.changingshape.com/exercise/directory/typeofexercises.asp
I must admit I invested in my treadmill, core ball and two sets of weights and I find the brilliant for use at home as they are so versatile.
Hope this helps, if you need to ask anything else feel free[sporty][clap][sporty][clap][sporty]
Liz sounds like a good day yesterday[clap][clap][clap]
Page 52 of April's Slimmer mag has the article on sweetners[msnwink]
I need a virtual kick up the back side girls I have been very lax this last week and have given in to my bread cravings on several occasion!I haven't done much on the tread mill but have just come in from a jog outside so feel kn******d .I must get back on track this week so I can feel good again .Had porridge for breakfast and will have prawn and mango salad for lunch not sure about supper yet.
Well done to all those who have not gone off the rails like I have [msnembarrased]
it's good to have you back Janny[msnsmile]i too have had cravings for bread all this past week
Julie, i do walk as fast as i can on the way home from the school run, it's all uphill and takes about 20mins would this count?
and i do have one of those strider thingies which i was using religiously for 30 mins at a time in the begining of last year, i really need to start using it again[msnembarrased]
will attempt 20 mins tommorow morning before brekkie[msneek]and see if i can build up my time on it again

Well as you all know I normally get weighed on a Monday but I was very sick last night, felt awful this morning and jumped in the shower without getting weighed.
I will be getting on the scales in the morning.
Oh Paula, hope you feel better soon.
Peters birthday today and the girls thought it would be nice to make him a birthday cake. All ingredients got and then Rachel had to work, Hannah has gone to the cinema and Jessica has gone to her friends, so guess who that leaves to make it[msnscared].
Having chicken in BBQ sauce tonight with a few potatoe wedges, and hopefully Peter will eat most of the cake.
Had a good day yesterday had a lovely dinner, roast chicken, boiled new pots, leeks, carrots and broc followed by fresh strawberries, raspberries and pineapple.
Don't feel that much has happened again this week[msnsad]

Yes I could have had 3 of the dairylea or even more of the laughing cow but I only needed one. It was just something to keep me going till dinner. Don't usually have crispbreads or crackers and was saving my B for dinner[msnwink]

Sally sounds like you are back in right frame of mind and doing really well[clap][clap]
Fiona hope you are OK and having a good day[msnwink]
Liz your food diary sounds great are you enjoying it yet??
Mizzy all the very best of luck for tonight[grouphug]
Well been to see my eldest son who is at Uni in Manchester, I love spending time with him, he and I get on so well, so I treated him to lunch, after delivering a food parcel to his flat (poor student) only at Starbucks but all I had was a Skinny latte[angel][angel]
So food diary for me today was another Red day as I was busy and find them easy when I have little time........
Porridge (healthy b)
Skinny latte (healthy a)
Chicken breast with tikka spices and yogurt and mint dressing
Tuna steak seared with my pepper and toms sauce
Skinny latte (healthy a)
only 1 litres of water so far but will do my 2 litres by bed time[msnwink]
Extra Skinny latte = 5.5 syns[msnoo]
Got melon and plums for later[clap]
No time for my treadmill today so have to do more tomorrow[sporty][sporty] but I have not sat down all day[msneek]
Weigh in for me tomorrow morning, but going to a later class though as I have a hair appt!![msncool] so let you know around 1.30[msnwink][msnwink]
I am here, just got home from work, was on a copy deadline today for ads & 220 words of editorial copy, so had to wax lyrical!
Got taken out to lunch (which didn't help on the time front let alone the slimming one) had sparkling water and salmon & asparagus salad with orange, very tasty, then black tea to finish.
Just off out with the dogs, then back to cook beef stir fry for supper, ED is not home today, but waiting to hear from YD who went to college to "revise" at 10.30am and not been heard of since[msnmad]. Year end at the office so DH mega stressed - toilets backing up last night so had to call out the water board - 9.00am this when we had a slight discussion about who would be paying for it. Luckily (as we had told them it was) was in the road, so they have to pick up the tabs! 1½hr later all done and dusted and I could put the washing machine & dishwasher on and flush the loos! Needless to say also late for work - can you tell I am a little stressed today! I think the walk will calm me down. Weigh in tomorrow so will have the half frittata I took into the office for lunch today and the salad, plus pineapple and pear, supper - no idea whatsoever at the moment, will have to put my thinking hat on later.
Just realised we go on hols 3 weeks today and have not yet booked hair cut / colour or leg waxing = panic mode (you can tell I have my priorities right can't you!!).
Oh Fiona you poor thing, don't you just hate days like that[msnmad][msnmad]
Chill now, stress is bad for you (and me and every other person on the planet[msnwink])[grouphug] Chill.................
Hi
Just back from class and i've stayed the same[msnsad] i know it's all down to the monthly bloating but i was still very very disapointed[msncry]
will be expecting a decent loss next week to compensate for this[msnmad]
Fiona take it easy mrs you'll make yourself poorly and then you'll be too ill to enjoy your holiday[grouphug]
good luck tommorow for all the people weighing in Julie, Paula, Theresa and Fiona[clap][clap][clap]

Oh it's so disheartening when that happens Mizzy, especially when you have been good, but stick with it and it will show next week.
All you girls are keeping me really highly motivated, dinner was delicious and I am just about to go and prepare packed lunch for work tomorrow, not sure what yet but I have some lovely fresh melon and strawbs so they will definitely be on the menu[msnsmile2]
Good luck to all you girls weighing in tommorrow[msnsmile2]
Well just to chill out tonight have totally blown the diet, how did I know that was coming, 2½ glasses of red wine and 4 lindt chocs[:I], that will teach me, extra long power walk tomorrow morning, but I do feel better tonight - although I know I won't be tomorrow when I haven't had a weight loss!!
Copy & ad all finished and sent off + pics, copy writing for another set of ads tomorrow, and Wed (one of my days off) am going to a presentation by a radio station in Reading and finishing off buying stuff for the showroom, Thurs taking my niece out to get her 12th birthday pressies and work on Fri - no urgent deadlines for that - so far! Still got ton loads of washing to get through, so will make inroads on that tomorrow am, bit of admin on the villa to do and then can start getting through my list for the hols - hopefully by the weekend, one day I may be organised and have everything packed and ready 2 days before we go! 87 degrees in Florida at the moment - have completely forgotten what that feels like - hasn't it been winter forever and a day?:(
Morning all, evening Theresa!!
Weigh in day today, good luck to others weighing in too[msnwink][msnwink]
Have a good day all[clap][clap][clap][clap][sporty][sporty][sporty][sporty]

Good luck Julie
Never mind Mizzy I'm sure next week will show a good loss[grouphug]
Off to get weighed shortly, feeling a bit better today which is just as well because it's Caitlins 10th Birthday. I made the cake last night and I can't wait for her to wake up now.
Hello all!
I am not weighing myself today either as I phoned in sick. Massive headache.
So I will have to wait until Thursday now to see. I want to see what I weight on the work scales, as my ones at home are unreliable.
I have a feeling I will have stayed the same, just like you Mizzy.
Its disheartening, but I try to see how my clothes fit that week!

enjoy Caitlin's lovely birthday party
my son is 10 on June 1st and on the way to school today he asked for a three tier chocolate cake[msneek]
Mizzy
Just come in from a jog outside as its sunny but with a little wind just the right weather for it-took my trusty old jog proof cd walkman and went a long nicely to some old 70's discio hits.Hada reasonable day yesterday prooidge and fruit for breakfast, prawn and mango salad fr lunch adn roast bef and jacket sweetpotato with salad for supper along with lots of water and yogurts .
Sorry you had a bad day Fiona but look on the bright side it can only get better as you get towards the holidays .
Well done Paula enjoy the cake .
Well done Paula, and just keep on trying the rest of you (us!), weigh in day for me tonight, not optimistic today after last night (DH had the nerve to say he thought I was back to normal as this is what I was like before I was ill - well I firmly told him that is why I had scaled down not to charge round like a BAF anymore -if he wants to make himself heart attack material there's nothing I can do about it, but I can try and look after myself better[grin]), but am carrying on. Also had had a craving for bread (what is it about fresh bread I wonder?) and paid for it with ibs cramps, so I have learnt my lesson, and am off it again except for the pumperknickel bread which I like with cottage cheese on.
So Mizzy are you baking or getting to M&S for the chocolate cake? Delia does a fatless one but I am never sure if those entirely work out! A tiny slice if you allow for it will be ok - as long as you can be sure that the whole thing will be eaten in one hit, and you are not left with it's siren call from the larder so you have a piece every time you go by - now I wonder how I know about that!
Back to my ad creating - can you tell I am having a break[msntongue]?
Well I am back and lost another 2lbs so very pleased!!!
Paula well done on your 2lbs too[clap][clap][clap]
Janny well done nice day for a jog[sporty][sporty][sporty]
Liesa are you back on board with us now then??
Fiona good luck tonight!!
WOW!!!!!! Julie the weight's now falling off you[clap][clap][clap]how much is that in total now, is it 11lbs?
cheshire cat smiles all round for Julie then[msnwink][msnsmile2]
Fiona i'll have to get some one to bake the cake for me either that or buy 3 different sized chocolate cakes and plonk them on top of each other[msneek] mil wont be pleased!!! she doesn't eat chocolate and ALWAYS moans if the kids choose a chocolate one for their birthdays[msnsad]
you'd think she'd be happy because the children have the cake they want but oh no, she has to be considered [msnmad]
i am going to make the SW spicy fruit muffins (4syns each) for easter and for birthdays that way i get my cake and wont feel guilty for eating it[clap]
i'm being very [angel]'ic today[angel][angel][angel]

Thanks Mizzy, 12lbs at SW plus 4lbs on my own[msnsmile2] Cheshire Cat Oh Yes!!!![clap]

Mizzy I like the sound of that baking wise! I am going to dig my SW recipe book out tonight and look for inspiration, although HTC buns for me are one of my weaknesses, so I try and not buy them - or make them, as I find it v difficult to just eat one.
Mizzy, def my stone award next week[clap][clap][clap]

Liz i would plan some evening nibbles into your days eating then you will always have something to hand for when that "bored hunger monster" strikes[msneek] i keep my own box full of low syn treats and i also keep the fruit bowl topped up to the max[clap]
Liesa you naughty little devil you, now are you in or out?????
you say your not into slimming but your going to get weighed tommorow[msneek][msnsad]
i know that you've been feeling like its all getting a little too much for you, so how about once a week after you've been weighed you just say "good week" or "not's so good week" and then you wont be under too much pressure, would this work better for you?[msnsmile]

Yes Mizzy, I need to have some treats left for the evening, I used to have a fun size milky way or a kit kat but they are a trigger and once I start I can't stop with chocolate!!
Cadbury's options work quite well when I need a chocolate fix and I am going to get some but I gave up chocs for lent and have been really strict about it[msnsmile2]
Mostly if I want a treat I have a caramel snack a jack spread with mashed banana or a yoghurt and fresh fruit.
I have had a green day today
crunchy bran and banana for breakfast
No time to nibble this morning
Jacket potato with dairylea filling and cherry tomatoes at lunch
Melon and Strawbs
Dinner was pasta in a tomato based sauce with 57g of yesterdays salmon as a healthy B and 1.5 syns for a tablespoon of parmesan.
I'm going to have a youghurt soon and some more water, I've had about 1 1/2 litres so far today[msnsmile2]
Liesa i know what you mean its nice to keep a track on how the girls are doing so popping in and getting a few tips from their diet plans are good,i am always popping in and am impressed by the way they are doing but am going it alone and watching what i am eating and keeps me on track reading their posts.good luck [msnwink]

Sounds like you had a great day Paula, i know how you feel about how quick they are growing up my youngest is also 10 this year on June the first[msneek] double figures!!!
now where did that decade go....................?
Mizzy
Well done Julie.
I am so going to look at your menus for the last couple of weeks and try them.
You do a lot of treadmill, do you think that's the secret to it all, a lot of running?
I have a dilema for Easter weekend. We are going with several other families, camping on the Murray River, on the border of Victoria/New South Wales. Its a gorgeous part of the world, we are roughing it and going 'bush camping', which means no electricity or running water! So its Tents, shovels, buckets, gas BBQs. I am wondering how I am going to go with SW, as people sit around eating dips, chips, cheeses, all the naughty stuff, and I don't want to appear like I am dieting, and ruin everyone's weekend! I was thinking I could do mainly red days, BBQ Bacon, eggs, tomatoes, etc for breakfast, maybe Steaks, Chicken & Salad on BBQ at night. Its hard to make stuff on a BBQ that will suit. I could try a green day one of the days, maybe BBQ Vege sausages, and Packets of rice? Its going to be a real test to see how I manage, as I won't have the convenience of my kitchen at home, and convenience is the key when camping!
I could make dips and homemade chip things, but storage is a problem, as its very hot in the day, and you need to ice everything, and get your meats vacuum packed at the butchers especially, to keep them fresh. I will bring heaps of fruit and veggies, but its more the nibbly things in the evening around the fire, when everyone is getting plates of goodies out. I will bring naughty stuff for my family, but what can I munch on! Carrots & humus?
Good luck with that one Theresa, I would have thought red days may be better, and nibble on celery and carrots. You could be ultra organised and make parsnip crisps before you go so you don's seem to be depriving yourself!
Stayed the same today - am I surprised no, in fact even DH said he thought I hit the wine last night which was v unusual for me! Back on track with my mix2match tomorrow, been like a madhouse workwise last few days, and am going down with a sore throat:(.
Morning ladies, evening Theresa!
Theresa, I do think the treadmill speeds up the weight loss but the same can be achieved with any CV training that raises the heartrate, powerwalking, rowing, cross trainer etc[sporty][sporty] I just hope my losses continue at this rate as 2lbs a week is nice and steady[msnwink]
Fiona, sorry but at least you did not have a a gain so well done!!![clap][clap] get back on track and have a good loss this week[grouphug]
Liz, Janny, Mizzy, Sally, Paula and Theresa lets all have a good day - hope I havent missed anyone[msnwink]
Think I will go green today for a change![clap]

Hi all:D
Theresa, I have a similar problem to you as I am havimg all tha famiy to stay at Easter, there will be 8 of us + my son and his fiancee popping in as well. It is usually lots of fast food and evening meals out[msneek] I will have to be very careful, but my sister is a SW fan ( she is a real skinny minnie ) so I am sure she will understand.
I am having a red day today
Crunchy bran and banana
fruit for morning nibbles
Ham salad for lunch with lots of cherry tomatoes and a tablespoon of my favourite sweetcorn relish.
Yoghurt
Dinner will be a cheese and bacon omlette with baby new potatos sliced and fried in fry light along with sliced mushrooms and red onion.
I have tried to be very organised, my salad is in the fridge ready to pick up as I leave for work, as is my fruit.
I have already boiled the potatos as they slice much better cold, which means only the mushrooms and onion to do when I get home from work.
All that lot will take 2 healthy A's, 2 B's and 1 syn which means lots of syns left over for a treat this evening if I want! :D
I didn't nibble at all last night:D:D
Have a great day everyone.[msnsmile2]
Well done to Julie and Paula[clap][clap][clap]
Mizzy and Fiona, I also stayed the same[msnsad], heres to next week.
Good Morning
[grouphug] for you Sally and Fiona[grouphug] it's not very nice staying the same is it[grouphug] especially when you've put in the work and you expect results[msnsad]
Theresa, you'll have a lovely weekend i'm sure, if i were you i would try to stick to the plan as much as possible and if you can control them then allow yourself a few treats, if not then like Fiona said you could perhaps take your own
Liz you are ultra organised i'm sure you'll have another great loss this week[clap]
hope everyone has a great day[angel]
Mizzy[msnsmile2]

Theresa I think you have had some great advice from the girls, take as much free food as possible and try to stick it as much as possible, but have a wonderful time[msnwink]
Liz if you are having the family to you maybe you can keep control a bit more, make lots of SW meals and they will never notice[clap][clap] I like the look of your food diary too[msnwink][clap][msnwink][clap]
Sally sorry you have stayed the same[grouphug] We can all say we know how you feel, but keep at it[clap][clap]

Well unusual day for me, 2 mega nosebleeds this am - so heavy had to change clothes etc, just lovely, have not had that since I was pregnant or one week of my chemo[msnsad]. Cancelled my trip to Reading for the afternoon as decided I did not to risk another one in the middle of a presentation surrounded by tons of other people. Got a sore throat and legs and joints ache - mind you they do alot anyway, I think that's the Tamoxifen, but knee has been clicking all day today.
Anyway, food diary - banana, plum & actimel for breakfast. Lunch - Jacket pot with beans and chopped red onion and grated cheddar. Supper was small chicken breast stuffed with basil & garlic baked in ratatouille, new pots, steamed green beans and green salad, fruit for pud.
Am taking my niece shopping for her birthday tomorrow afternoon plus buy a few more bits for the showrrom and have to nip to work for a 10 am meeting, have to be up early to walk hounds and wash hair to get out of house in time, bet my hair being washed is what gives!
Have a good day everyone, and have a good lunch Janny, just be careful if you can't be good, and give my love to Lin.
Morning all, evening Theresa!!
Fiona, that's terrible you poor thing, hope you feel better soon[grouphug][grouphug]
I am working in Manchester today so won't be able to post much - psychometrically assessing 15 graduates for a recruitment company[msnscared]

I've had three migraines this week, so been in and out of here only briefly. Have to take Mercyndol Forte which wipes me out, and makes me zoombie like. I've vegged on the sofa all day, trying to find relief. So last couple of days have been green days, as all I've really wanted is tea and toast, and a wee bit of jam on them as I always crave sugar after a Migraine attack. Hopefully I haven't ruined all my good work this week, but so be it if I have, got to go with it. I went for a walk tonight, as I felt I needed fresh air.
Winter is starting to creep in, as summer comes up around to you. Had to put the heater on as it got to 12oC. I know that's not cold, but after bein 32oF the week before, it felt really chilly! I swore I wouldn't ever wimp out here, like the aussies, but I am starting to feel the cold more. [msnsad]
Good Morning
had some extra sleep so feel very refreshed today
hope you have a nice lunch today Jan and you Paula have a great fun day out shopping with Caitlin[msnsmile2]
Fiona make sure you look after yourself[grouphug] and i know this may be a foreign concept to you, but you really should "take it easy" now and then[grouphug] and the same goes for you too Theresa
Good Luck with todays weigh in Liz[clap]

I lost 1.5 kg ( 3.3lb) So my total weight loss in 2 weeks is 3.5 kg exactly 7 1/2lb:D
A good start but I've a long way to go yet and I know the weight loss will start to slow down now[msnsad]
Green Day today
Crunchy bran

Dairylea and tomatoes on wholemeal bread with a yoghurt
For dinner it is going to be vegetarian pasta.......lets just hope I can resist the garlic bread everyone else will be having[msneek]

Mizzy hope you have a great child free meal out[msnwink]
What are psychometric tests?
A psychometric test is a way of assessing a person’s ability or personality in a measured and structured way. There are 3 main types of tests: ability, personality and interest (although both personality and interest are more like psychometric questionnaires). Some tests are used by employers to help them in their recruitment process while other tests can help people with career decision making.
It is common for graduate employers to use psychometric tests as part of their selection process. Organisations believe tests help them recruit the right people with the right mix of abilities and personal qualities. They are also useful for "sifting out" large number of applicants at an early stage and so saving the employers both time and money. [msnwink]
Liz well done on the loss 7 1/2 lbs WOW [clap] and with the stairs[sporty][sporty][sporty] Keep it going[clap][clap]
Theresa hope that Migraine has gone, I can honestly say I know how you feel[grouphug]

Hi everyone - remember me??
Haven’t been on here for almost 4 weeks, nice to read that you missed me
We’ve been so incredibly busy at work (still are too), working late nights and weekends – so haven’t been able to use the internet much at all. I just logged in quickly the other day to send Sharon a message wishing her all the best, but I think I missed her by a few hours
So it has been all work and sleep for me – not even managed to get to the gym and even worse not been very organised with my food choices – have eaten some real rubbish I’m afraid!
But today I have decided I WILL take a short break and try to catch up with what I’ve missed. And what a lot I’ve missed – I can’t even try to remember it all especially on the slimming club front – I’m off to read this thread again – hope to have time to do some posting and catching up with you all over the next few days… but if I don’t at least you know where I am and what I’m doing but I <span style="color:red">WILL </span id="red">be back.
Not long now (less than 4 weeks) until I’m off you know where – and believe me, I just can’t wait.
Great to have you back Julieanne[clap][clap][clap]

good to have you back Julie!!!!
Hi Everyone
i'm back and must say i have had a lovely child free 3 1/2hrs[msnsmile2]
we have been out for a meal and i have had a lovely time for lots of reasons, first is i feel great in my clothes everything feels lovely and loose so i will soon have to think about buying a size smaller
secondly i didn't feel self conscious in the restaurant and for once didn't worry about other people looking at me and what i was eating
third i made some good food choices[angel]
and then last and best of all the meal felt like being on a date and we both enjoyed ourselves so much that we definately want to see each other again[msnwink][msnsmile2]
Liz congrats on the weight loss 7 1/2 lbs in two weeks is fantastic[clap][clap][clap]
Julieanne is great to have you back with us, you have been missed[msnsmile]

Well I have had a lovely day. Caitlin and I went shopping, I love shopping for the girls, just hate it for myself. We ate out while in town and I opted for cottage pie and veg. Came home laden with shopping bags, then had to sit while Caitlin came and modelled each item.
Well done on the weight loss Liz[clap][clap]
Just a quick post of my food diary, red day.........
Porridge
Skinny latte
Chicken chop house salad yogurt mint dressing
Skinny latte
Seared Tuna steak with tomato topping
Only a litre of water[msnsad]
Fell asleep for a few hours missed my fruit and ypgurt[msnsad]
Mizzy and Paula glad you both had a good time[msnwink]
Hiya peeps, busy day but reading everything now!
Fruit & actimel for breakfast, chicken breast and half a dozen baby tomatoes for lunch (on the hoof), apple and black tea at cafe in Reading at tea time when feeling tired, tuna fish, kidney beans, salad and pots for supper. Tons of water.
Bought a pair of jeans for walking the hounds - the first time I have bought some from a high street store for years, so was v chuffed. YD took one look at them and told me I had to take them straight back. Middle-aged mothers in straight legged jeans are a no-no[msnmad]. Told ED who said she would look at them when I try them on and she will be honest. Told her I wanted them to walk the hounds and they were ideal as would slip into boots - wellies or otherwise without all the hassle of my other (now too big) pair, so she said keep them anyway! Will try them on for them and wait for the comments. Daughters, don't you just love them. (YD was getting her revenge because I had huge row with her over the mobile phone and made her leave restaurant in Reading to return home with me instead of coming back when she felt like it. I would just point out that coming back with me was agreed plan not eating supper at 6.00pm when I have to get home and organise supper for rest of family. Day 3 of no signs of studying - oh she thinks I am a walkover, tomorrow we have WAR!)
And for this I deferred my reconstruction op. I obviously have sucker written on my forehead, or is it just mother, sometimes I wonder if there is a difference. My sister (after listening to my side of the phone call) says I am fearsomely funny when angry and I scared the whatsits out of my nephew when last at their house when he started on in the same manner. Told her to send him to me for 2 weeks and he'd return to her a chastened young man and never take the p again ... as my darling youngest will learn ... one of these days.
OK rant over!
Glad you had a good meal out Mizzy, so nice to have adult time occasionally. Feel better soon Julie & Theresa, Julieanne keep going, it's quite good just reading through when you are busy as it makes you feel in the right frame of mind to keep going. Liz WELL DONE[clap][clap], keep going gal, you can do it. And to anyone I left out [grouphug] - Janny where are you are how was lunch?

Morning everyone.
It's great to read everyone's posts-I'm just sorry I haven't been here more.
I just can't believe where the last few weeks have gone[msnscared]
I was going to be so organised, with everything packed and ready at this stage as we go to Florida on Sunday. Instead, I've been working up until yesterday. My car had to go in for a warning light looking at on Tues and HAS to go in this morning for 2 hours for an "anti-skid" part(?). I've still got clothes to buy, all the packing to do, The house is a tip and everything is so disorganised. I also still have a mountain of essential paperwork/phonecalls to make before we go for the business. I don't want to sound ungrateful, but at this moment, I want to [msncry]
I know that once I get sorted, I'll feel excited and very happy but I feel I'll be working into the small hours tonight and am praying for an early night tomorrow.
I'll probably check in again before I go and may have internet access from the 14th, so I'll look in if poss.
Keep going everyone.
[grouphug]
Carole
Sounds like you need a holiday Carole [msnwink]
It'll all work out. I often find its not until your bum hits the seat of the plane, that you finally relax into it!

Hope you're feeling much better today Julie.[grouphug]
Just had 15 mins on the LTT, I keep telling myself the only way to successfully loose weight is exercise but I just can't get motivated. I wish I enjoyed it but if I'm honest I don't, not one little bit
Thanks Paula, things are a little better today so should have turned the corner - don't you just love being a girl sometimes[msnscared]
Well done on the LTT every bit helps fire up yur met rate so keep at it, what about trying something different like a powerwalk??
Carole great to hear from you - I feel for you, being that busy is a pain because everything else seems to pile up, keep your chin up you will soon be in Florida chilling!!!
Have a great day all, and as they say on Fit Club 'eat but don't cheat'!!![clap][sporty][clap][sporty]

I am going to try and start doing a power walk each day[sporty][sporty][sporty]
I really should be out now, the only part of me getting any worthwhile exercise is my fingers......they are so lovely and slim[msnwink]
E. Cosgrove
07-04-2006, 10:52
Oh Paula, I'm glad I am not the nly one who hates exercise[msnsad]
I used to love going to the gym but now I've lost all my motivation maybe when I lose a bit more weight I'll feel a bit more energised and a bit more inclined to exercise.
Fiona......kids, don't you just love em. I have 2 grown men but they both drive me to distraction sometimes, and I know that girls of that age can be even more difficult, I've watched my sister go through it and she had hell!!! Don't give in, be strong and she'll thank you for it in the end.
Sorry you have had to cancel your op but I'm sure you have made the decision which is right for you and just think, you have more time to lose more weight[msnwink] I think the jeans sound fine, When I get new jeans they will be narrower legs to tuck in my boots, you just can't do it with the wide leg jeans...baggy around the knees is just not trendy[msnwink]
Julie sorry about your horrendous time of the month, but just think of the weight loss, release fronm all that bloating
[msnsmile2]
Mizzy, your meal out sounded great, you have tremendous willpower, I could do with borrowing him to sit on my shoulder next weekend [msnwink]
Have a great day everyone, think thin and keep focused:D
I used to hate exercise until I got an MP3 player. Now I change the music over regularly and go off for my walk and 'escape' into my own world for 40 - 50 minutes. Its brilliant. My kids are at an age where I can leave them with the eldest one whilst I go off, dinner is usually being kept warm, and ready when i get in. I find I relax much more easily after a walk as well, and of course it help shifts the dinner I eat after I get back!
Diary
Porridge
Stir Fry Veg & Bacon for lunch
Curry Chicken SW style with mushrooms, peppers and potato (healthy extra)
Snacks: Latte, diet biscuit, plums, plums and more plums. Plus yoghurt later tonight!
I'm off for my walk. Its bitterly cold tonight, we have snow falling on the ranges 3 hours away! The ski season starts at the end of this month. Bet you didn't know we had snow in Australia. I didn't either until I got here!

Sounds as if you've all been going great guns over the last few weeks - so well done everybody [clap] [clap]
Hope everyone who was down/ill yesterday is feeling better today
Despite my terrible eating habits over the last few weeks when I have just been eating all sorts of rubbish at all the wrong times I am still 2lb lighter than the last time I posted on here [msnsmile]
I must try and get back into some kind of better eating habits and not make working 26 hours a day 8 days a week [msnwink] [msnwink] an excuse for eating lots of fast food [msnembarrased] [msnembarrased]
Need to start to hit the gym again as well after almost 3 weeks away from there too - only 3 weeks to go [clap]
Have a good day everyone [msnsmile2]
Good Morning Everyone
well that wicked weekend is upon us again, hope everyones super fired up to cope with the temptations it'll bring[msnwink]
the easter eggs have started to arrive in this house, the children have been given three each already despite me asking people not to buy them[msneek] i have hidden four of them because they arrived after they went to bed last night, i dread to think how many more they will get[msnscared]
Liz you can borrow my little willpower guy when i go on holiday in august is that ok??
Paula sounds like you had a great day yesterday, with a mini fashion show to top it all off[msnsmile2]
i hate the LTT too Paula but i am forcing myself to do 10 mins a day[msnsad]i find the hardest thing with exercise is starting it, once i've got going i'm fine
Have a lovely walk Theresa, have a great holiday Carole, and Fiona we all need to rant now and again i'm due one anyday soon[msneek]
Mizzy
[msnsmile2]
I'm back and ate my curry, which was delicious.
My MIL sent money for my kids instead of eggs. The rest of the family are in UK, so the only eggs they will get are one from the 'bunny' aka Me!
They will be happy enough with that. WE also do the trails of eggs to the BIG one! So that will do them.
Plus we will be camping, so don't want to lug eggs all that way in the car!
I am thinking I might go and have one vodka & lime, as its Friday night!
Nice to see everyone one posting - Carole you sound like me just before we go away - I am lucky if I get to bed the night before we leave, still makes me sleep on the plane out!
Easter eggs are banned in our house - except I said I would get a packet of mini ones to put in a basket, the gals are getting DVDs, even my 12 yr old niece doesn't want any! I don't mind painting some eggs, no we won't go there because then I will have to do something with the eggs and that could lead to cake making!
Have a good day peeps, just planning what I am going to eat for the rest of the day, actimel and 2 cups of tea so far. Think the blueberries, pears & pineapple maybe getting hit. Prawns & salad for lunch and fish and SW chips with salad for supper, sounds like a plan!
Sounds yummy Fiona!
What is Actimel?
I wish I could get some of the products from home, flicking through the mags it seems there are quite a few different varieties of things I could have, just don't know the equivalents here. I guess if I used my old WW wheel to work out food values, I could find alternatives here.
I got a skinny eggplant dip for camping next week, and a bag of carrots, so they will be my munchies.
Then lentil burgers, vacuum packed, and stir fry rice for a green day, and the bbq meats for the other red days.
Its a bit of a headache trying to work out menus whilst camping, its not as easy to throw things together on a stove!
Theresa have a look here........
http://www.actimel.com/intl/home.html
Have you tried the web site for some menu ideas?
Busy day as 4 y/o has finished for Easter!

I am dreading next week Julie, Caitlin isn't a chocolate eater at all, Eve would eat it for breakfast dinner and tea if I let her. No matter how much I tell people not to get them eggs it falls on deaf ears. I spoke to MIL a few weeks ago and told her not to get any, I said to get them a pair of socks if she wanted to get something, she phoned me last night to ask what size socks to get the girls to go with their eggs[msneek][msneek][msneek] I may well have been talking to the wall. I am not joking when I say we'll end up with over 30 eggs on Easter Sunday. The local funeral parlour[msnscared] collect eggs to take to childrens homes and hostels but they collect them all by next Saturday.
Tut all this thinking about chocolate has got me drooling[easter1]
I see your MIL loves you Mizzie[msnwink][gun] Mind doesn't know she is not coming up for Easter yet, her brave son hasn't told her yet (get out the hard hats)!
I think the gals used to get at least 10 eggs each at Easter when they were young, despite all my protestations. Bet my mother get's them some though!
Slight deviation from menu plan tonight - takeaway curry. Small portion only. Good news is not a drop of wine passed my lips, just going to work out the damage - looks like it is frittata all weekend for me as penance. It is the Farmers Market this weekend so going to stock up on free range eggs and fresh veggies, they taste so different. Am cooking risotto tomorrow, going through my SW recipe books.
Morning all.
Sounds like everyone is doing well.
Easter eggs have also started to arrive in this house[msneek], chocolate is one thing I do find hard to say no too.
Fiona and Julie, I also have a 16 year old doing AS levels in English Lit and Lan combined, German History, Business Studies and Economics. Never seems to do much study and when I mention it I get told that she knows what she is doing. We shall see when she gets her results.
Nice to see you back Julieanne, glad you are OK.
Very busy at the moment with the schools off and we have also got a friends dog to stay for 10 days, now have 2 golden labs bringing muddy feet in all day and always hoovering the dog hair up. Have fallen in love with our guest, have never known such an affectionate dog, he actually cuddles you. Off to take them both out in a minute, usually Peter does it on weekends but he is off playing golf today.
Planning on having chicken curry for dinner tonight.
Have a good weekend all.

Morning everyone.
Lovely morning here in the North East if a little chilly still.....
I'm at work again [msnmad]
Think I've done very well to get here as I may have had a glass of wine too many last night [msnembarrased] [msneek]
Morning all, evening Theresa!
Easter eggs - I feel in control at the moment, I look at them and think if I eat you I am a failure so they are still in the bag in the utility room, I think this year I will be OK I seem to have found an inner strenth with willpower but only time will tell, I think for me the best way is not to even have a taste, just don't go there[msneek]
Meeting inlaws early for coffee at Starbucks so better get showered etc, have a good day all!![clap]
What is it with AS students my son does hardly anything and he is doing Law ,Politics,Economics and Pyschology .All we get is "it's all ok -don't worry " Ha! don't worry my foot !
Anyway had a good lunch on thursday was very good and avoided the fattening things .Yesterday was back ontrack with porridge and fruit for breakfast herb omelette for lunch and fish for tea.
Just about to go on the treadmil to get my 5k in -need to do it as the heating has gone and it is freezing here so need to warm up.
Have a good weekend everybody

I am keeping my willpower up by plodding thtough the past 60+ pages that I have missed!
I haven't even started on OV Slimming Club Pt1 yet[msneek]
I grateful patient bought me a box of Thorntons toffee[msneek] ( she knew I gave up chocolate for Lent)and a bottle of Pimms[msnscared] ( I was waiting for about 3 weeks for her to deliver in early March ....before I started the diet[msnwink]and had to stay T total, just happened to mention thatI fancied Pimms and lemonade[msnoo])
It was so sweet of her and totally unnecessary, especially as I didn't get to deliver her anyway as she had to go into hospital to be induced as she was so far overdue [msneek]
Any way, they have both gone to the back of the cupboard....out of sight out of mind[msnsmile]
Have agood weekend evryone, and thanks for keeping my motivation high[grouphug]
Well a big [grouphug] for all the mummy worry worts on here!
Am feeling totally dehydrated today and don't understand why - drank water for England yesterday, and so far had 1 hot mug of water with slice of lemon, Lady Grey Tea with lemon, large mug of water (1 guess where all the glasses are in the house - oh that would be my studious younger daughter's bedroom, I had better face the music and open the door later on) and I am still feeling really dry and thirsty - not sore throaty either so don't understand it.
Porridge & bluberries for breakfast (along with aforementioned mug of water) and just off to walk the hounds. the sun is shining but something tells me it is not too warm once I get out of the house. However, am determined to attack the kitchen today, everything out of the cupboards, teak oil all the insides, chuck out the rubbish (watch the bin fill up) and feel pleased with myself. Oh little things ...!!
Have a good one all.

Went on the prowl later this evening. Had a bowl of WW custard and pears. Then that didn't hit the spot and had 5 squares of chocolate! Aaaarggh! Just was mooching for chocolate. I should have had it and been done with, instead of trying low cal alternatives. Oh well, only once a month I go mooching around!

I only have son's, and I love my 2 prospective daughter in laws to pieces[msnoo]
Hope they don't change when they get married[msnsad]
Liz the funny thing is my mil loved me to pieces and used to sign all cards with "much love mum and dad mk2" until an engagement ring was produced and then it all changed and from then on cards came with first names and no love whatsoever[msneek]
Theresa, it'll be ok a few squares of chocolate is not enough to ruin a otherwise sucessful week[grouphug] it only ruins it if you feel guilty, beat yourself up for failing and then throw the towel in altogether, be kind to yourself, long term a few squares now and then isn't too bad at all[msnsmile]

i have got sweet potato crisps in the oven[msnsmile2] off to get them out now

Mizzy Sharwoods sweet chilli and red pepper sauce is lovely and only about 2 points for half a jar with WW.
Had a good day yesterday, just had my bacon butty and not having any dinner as we are all off to Mum and Dads for a late dinner. No one does a roast as good as my Mum.

Interesting article................
People who snack during the day don’t lose weight, right? Wrong. They most certainly do! As a matter of fact, nutritious nibbling is not only allowed, it’s encouraged! If you're seeking to satisfy your hunger, prevent overeating later in the day and boost your metabolism, good-for-you goodies are the way to go. Here are some tips for choosing the right tasty tidbits:
Set your snack times. If you consume small snacks in between your meals you’ll be less likely to overeat during lunch and dinner. To keep your stomach growling at bay, make a promise with yourself to consume a healthy meal or snack every three to four hours during the day, so you never become too hungry.
Keep healthy foods on hand. Surround yourself with healthy foods to snack on at home, at work or in your car, to prevent yourself from grabbing high-fat and sugar-laden snacks (or making a dangerous U-Turn into a fast food drive-thru!).
Pay attention to portions. Keep snack size in mind and choose your servings wisely: try purchasing single portion containers of snacks whenever possible, or pre-portioning snacks such as lower fat crisps, nuts, popcorn and low-fat cheese after coming home from the shops. Just grab one when it’s snack time and you won’t have to worry about going overboard.
Read the small print. Foods labelled as "fat free" may lead you to believe that they are also calorie-free, but this is often not the case. Fat is often replaced with sugar. So always be sure to read a product’s Nutrition Information label to find out the real deal, and adjust your portions accordingly.
Fibre keeps you fuller. When choosing the right snacks, you’ll receive nutritional benefits such as fibre, vitamins and minerals. Snacks rich in fibre such as fruit, vegetables and wholegrain complex carbs (aim for at least two to three grams per serving) will fill you up but with fewer calories than no-fibre noshing.

- Cereal bowl of strawberries and 1 tbs Greek yoghurt
- (Quaker) Apple and raisin harvest bar
- Reduced fat instant hot chocolate drink (made with water)
- 1 slice Nimble bread with a tsp sugar free jam
- 2 bread sticks and tomato salsa dip
110-130 calorie snacks
- 1 pot low fat yoghurt or fromage frais
- 2 wholegrain crackers with cottage cheese and tomato
- 50g raisins and sultanas
- 20g mixed nuts
- Cereal bar
- 1 slice wholegrain toast with 1 tbs lower-fat peanut butter
- 1 slice wholegrain bread with 30g chicken breast or lean ham

- ½ pitta bread with 30g reduced fat hummus
- 1 apple with 30g low-fat cheese
- 2 celery sticks with 2 tbs low fat cream cheese
Not sure how these relate to SW and WW but just thought it was interesting for us all[msnwink]
Hiya all, had a late start and couldn't get on the computer because YD was on it all morning!
Dogs walked, been to the farmers market and just off to hit Waitrose for a mini shop then back to the kitchen. Got slightly diverted yesterday and had another clear out of clothes - 4 huge bags ready to go and very little left to wear for the summer. Oh what a shame will just HAVE to go shopping in Florida when we go in 14 days, 10 hrs etc!!
Tea & a banana for breakfast, chicken & salad for lunch - and just realised I have not taken my tablets ([:o)]), all done now, shows what a lie in does, puts your regime out of sync.
Cooked a chicken, pea & pepper risotto last night - delicious, and it is paella tonight which YD is cooking. Got baby leeks and purple sprouting broccoli at the market so might be doing another risotto tomorrow. Also got tomatoes from a grower in Isle of Wight - they taste delicious, and 18 free range eggs. I restrained myself and walked straight past the 2 bread stalls (I know my limitations and I just love fresh bread) and the cheese stall. I did get some honey from the honey/jam/chutney man, again totally delicious and a little goes a long way in yoghurt or on banana with squirty cream.
Fiona i gutted my wardrobe a few days ago it looks rather sad and empty now!!
most of my clothes were too big and looked silly on me, so i now have very little to wear
i desperately need to buy myself some new clobber but i have been spending all my cash on the kiddiwinks clothes and shoes, they grow so fast!!, it's not that i dont have the money or anything i'm just too tight to spend my savings and i would rather wait a little til i go down another size[msnsmile]
good article Julie a lot of it easily adapted to those doing sw or ww[clap]
i have had toast and ginger jam for brekkie
an actimel 0.1% fat
chicken breast, savoy cabbage, carrots, cauli, brocolli and baby corn for lunch with one small y.pud and splash of gravy[angel]
going to eat yet more chicken in a stir fry for tea with a sharwoods sweet chilli and lemongrass sauce which reminds me i need to switch channels and calculate those syns[msneek]
Mizzy[msnsmile2]
I know the feeling Mizzy, and as I am planning my reconstruction op for late July don't want to buy too much as will go down another size then when my tummy disappears!! do need to get some tops - and they are very reasonably priced in Florida[msnwink]! The gals have made me part with the classic country casual stuff as they say it is a) too dated and b) makes me look HUGE - oh they know what to say to make me chuck stuff out don't they!! YD has just informed we can share the jeans I bought (as they are too big for her told her she needs a smaller size, which she has but won't wear out of the house as they make her legs look too fat[:O] - actually need eyes rolling smiley).
And you have reminded me I have not had my actimel, am off!
well here is how the syns work out for the sauces
sweetchilli and lemongrass 195gm jar = 8syns
teriyaki and black bean 195gm jar = 9.5syns
i would use about 1/3rd of a jar for one serving so not too bad at all
Paula i'm going to give the sweet chilli one a bash will let you know how it goes[msnsmile]
Mizzy

One advantage of building the abdominal muscles is the many different exercises to choose from, helping you to avoid the monotony of endless sit-ups and thus to stay motivated. One surefire piece of advice is this: AVOID SIT-UPS. These old-fashioned exercises are almost always done incorrectly, putting extra unnecessary and unhealthy pressure on the lower back while failing to fully train the abdominal muscles.
The fitness profession has settled on crunches as the most basic and effective way to tone the abs. Here's how to do a proper crunch:
Lie down
Put your hands behind your neck (don't pull too hard on the neck)
Pull your knees in just above the hips with your feet flat on the floor
Lift your shoulders no more than 30 degrees above the ground
Hold for 3 full seconds
Then slowly return the shoulders to a resting position.
Repeat until you are ripped
Beginners should do 1 set of as many repetitions as it takes to make the abs burn. It is standard for huge bumpy musclemen to do 3 sets of about 25 to 30 repetitions. Do these exercises at least 3 times a week.
That's it, you say? Not exactly; crunches work the upper abs, but you can't forget about the lower abs or obliques (love handles).
A good exercise for working the lower abs is leg lifts. You can do these lying down on a flat bench or any other bench-like surface. Here's how to proceed:
Lie down flat on your back on a bench
Lift your legs (straight out) about 45 degrees in the air
Then return them slowly to the resting position (without touching the ground)
Repeat until you cry
The sets and reps should be the same as for crunches. Reverse crunches, in which you pull the knees into your chest as you lift your shoulders, are also effective ways of exercising the lower abs.
Doing crunches with a twist will work the obliques. Just lay your knees to your side instead of having your feet flat on the floor. Then do your normal crunches (be sure to do both sides).
The Bicycle exercise is the best move to target the rectus abdominis (i.e., the 'six pack') and the obliques (the waist), according to a study done by the American Council on Exercise. To do this exercise correctly:
1. Lie face up on the floor and lace your fingers behind your head.
2. Bring the knees in towards the chest and lift the shoulder blades off the ground without pulling on the neck.
3. Straight the left leg out to about a 45-degree angle while simultaneously turning the upper body to the right, bringing the left elbow towards the right knee.
4. Switch sides, bringing the right elbow towards the left knee.
5. Continue alternating sides in a 'pedaling' motion for 12-16 reps.
The Captain's Chair is the second most effective move for the rectus abdominis as well as the obliques and can be found in most health clubs and gyms. To do it right:
1. Stand on chair and grip handholds to stabilize your upper body.
2. Press your back against the pad and contract the abs to raise the legs and lift knees towards your chest.
3. Don't arch the back and remember to breathe smoothly.
4. Slowly lower back down and repeat for 12-16 reps.
The exercise ball is an excellent tool to strengthen the abs and comes out number three for working the rectus abdominis. To do it right:
1. Lie face-up with the ball resting under your mid/lower back.
2. Cross your arms over the chest or place them behind your head.
3. Contract your abs to lift your torso off the ball, pulling the bottom of your ribcage down toward your hips.
4. As you curl up, keep the ball stable (i.e., you shouldn't roll).
5. Lower back down, getting a stretch in the abs, and repeat for 12-16 reps.
The vert
