Thanks for the support everyone. [msnsmile2] I'm really pleased with myself after this weeks weigh-in. I lost another 2lb and also got a silver star award for losing 1/2 stone.:D:D:D:D:D Back on track!!
Happy belated birthday for last week Julie - it's my "big 50" next week so I'm also planning a few celebrations. Meal out with the family next Thursday( Steak & salad for me), then a shopping weekend to Glasgow with my girlfriends, followed by party night on 24th. Am really hoping to lose another couple of 1bs before then so I can fit into my new party dress without looking like Betty Boop!!
Sharon - sounds as though your wedding is looming, is it end of March? You are doing so well with your diet, I'm sure your wedding dress will look a dream when the big day arrives.[msnsmile2]
Hi Lorraine and welcome to the Slimming club thread - I'm new to it myself too but I love reading everyone's stories & advice and some great menu tips. I'm doing WW myself but people seem to be doing all sorts of diets.
well done Pam
2lbs is a fantastic loss[clap][clap][clap]and 7lbs is a great achievement!!!
i'm sure you'll feel great and have a wonderful time at your birthday party

Hi all, here I am. I got weighed yesterday and lost 2lbs. It's taken an age to catch up with this thread.
I am on my own in work at the moment as my lucky parents are in the Sunshine State. So as well as working part time I've been having to bring work home too[msncry]
congratulations Paula another fantastic loss[clap][clap][clap]

What's happened to Paula and Jan, where are they?

Oh Sally you must be furious but please remember it could have been worse. I have a sister (middle one) who at the age of 15 went with her then boyfriend and had a horrible tattoo on both her arms. They weren't even pretty and even worse she had her boyfriends name on each of them. She hid them for a little while and when my parents found out, well you can imagine. Dad went to see "Tattoo George" for a chat, it appears she lied about her age anyway. Not long after she split with her boyfriend, she had one tattoo burnt off in a surgical procedure, it left such a horrid scar. The other she had a flesh coloured tattoo over it, still not pretty.
[grouphug][grouphug][grouphug]
Well-done Pam and Paula!!!!![clap][clap][clap][clap][clap]
Ideal weight loss 2lbs per week so very well-done both of you!
Sounds like you are going to have a fab birthday pam[msnwink]
Congratulations Paula & Pam, well done!
Welcome Lorraine. I am doing the SW plan, but know WW very well. Both great programs, but I am trying SW for a change, and had been enjoying it until I put on this week!
With that said, Julie I feel your pain, but at least you stayed the same, unlike me and putting on. That's more devastating, believe me. Its still not shifting and I feel really fed up. Its hard to keep motivated and nibbling fruit, when you feel its a waste of time.
Well its a new day for me today, so hopefully Weds will be better than the last two, and I lose the fluid today! Oh and Macka & Trev so glad you are in tune with your feminine side. Does that mean, like a male friend of mine, that you like chocolate with your beer [msntongue]
Theresa
are you eating enough to keep that metabolic rate up?
also you dont have to limit your snacks to fruit and yoghurt on a red day you can eat unlimited meat and fish so could you perhaps snack on seafood or some nice cooked chicken breast
or on a green you could snack on potato wedges, pasta salads, rice, noodles the list is endless but basicaly if it's a free food you can snack on it
dont feel like it's all a waste you have been doing fantastic and i'm sure your just having an off day and will feel better tommorow[grouphug]

Not looking good for me at tomorrows weigh in[msnscared]
Good luck Liesa[msnsmile2]
Well done Pam & Paul. Lots of little round spherical muttered by me - 1lb on[msnmad].
Am going to try and have a green week (on the whole, and will keep a food diary and see if I can find where I went wrong. It's funny because my clothes are looser!
Thanks Mizzy
I don't think I have been eating enough! I certainly eat hardly anything on a green day, so I could cook some potato wedges and nibble on them couldn't I! I should buy some chicken breasts and grill them for those red days too. Thanks for the tips. Will try and eat more!
I am going to a girlfriends for lunch today, not sure what she is making, and certainly didn't want to ask, so hopefully its not too naughty!
Oh Fiona you poor thing I know just how you must feel[grouphug] What about trying some Success Express days? Here's to next week![msnwink]
Theresa, I had a green day yesterday, so check out my food diary[msnwink] Although I felt just slightly hungry at bedtime even though I had peaches and yogurt at 9pm, I think it was a good day[msnwink]
Good luck with weigh ins Sally and Liesa.

Have a good day all!!!!![sporty][sporty][sporty][sporty][sporty][sporty][sporty][sporty][sporty][sporty]

Well done Paula and Pam [clap]
Fingers crossed for Liesa and Sally today...
Hi Lorraine :) you'll get lots of tips and help from everyone on here
[grouphug] for Fiona, next week will be better I'm sure
Mizzy, Julie - what would be an example of a success express day?
Am back - wasn't around much last week as I had my dad staying here and as he's 88 I like to spend as much time as I can with him IYKWIM .Had a reasonable week -it had to red as Dad is a meat and veg man but was careful and ignored the biscuits he brought with him.
Need to get back into the swing of things properly and crack on woth the training for The Race For Life in May .
Hope everyone has a good week .
Hi Julieanne
an example of a success express day would be a 1/3rd to 2/3rd ratio on your plate this is a very basic example of how it works
firstly you can have any size plate and on one third you put your portion of carbohydrate and protein and the other two third is free vegetables
you can still snack on fruit and yoghurt throughout the day but not on proteins or carbohydrates
if you have a look at the sw website (members only section)you will see some examples, this week password is "spring"
hope this helps

Thanks Mizzy - sorry to be asking so many questions!!
It's not that I can't be bothered to join a class, it's just not practical for me at the moment so I'm trying to do as well as I can from the site, magazine and all your help.
Thankyou [grouphug]
<blockquote id="quote" class="ffs">quote:veg flan did that contain pastry?

um yes and yes! It was only a little pastry on the bottom, oh and maybe the sides....lol. Ok it was a bit of pastry, and I know that's heaps of syns, but my only syns today, and it was a tiny piece. It had masses of veggies in it. Most people went two pieces, I stuck to one with loads of salad, and no breads.
I'd love your quiche recipes for both days, that would be great!
Thanks peeps, I am going to read up on the success express and see if I can work it out!
Hi Theresa
sorry to tell you this but pastry (shortcut)= 7.5 syns per 28gm/ vegetable quiche per 142gm = 15.5 syns[msneek]
basic recipe for a SYN FREE!!! quiche (no pastry)
mix well one tub very low fat cottage cheese and 2-3 eggs for the very basic bit and then add your choice of fillings - "the worlds your oyster!!"
on a red day you would add and meat or fish and any veggies you feel like eg, i do a mean brekkie one with vlf sausage, bacon, mushrooms and sliced tomato add chopped parsley or any other herbs to your liking
bake in medium oven til set about 20-30 mins
on a green day i use part cooked and drained pasta and add tomatoes, peppers, courgettes, garlic or sometimes i adapt the recipe to make a macaroni one and add spring onions, courgettes, peppers and add low fat cheese triangles(laughing cow light? or similar) to the top to melt into the quiche for the last 5 mins or you can use any other cheese from your healthy a choices
you can also layer a quiche with different types of thinly sliced potatoes and any other veg that you want to add sometimes i make a sausage and tomato one using quorn sausages, tomatoes, onions peppers etc and then topping with the potatoes and the egg/cheese mixture
Mizzy

[/quote]
Fiona I find them really easy, for example chilli and rice on 1/3 of any sized plate but the other 2/3 has to be salad or free veg and you have to eat it all[msnwink] Give it a go[msnwink]
I am having another green day trying two new recipes.....mushroom risotto for lunch and spinach, herb and onion frttata for tea[msnwink] which fits in nicely with childrens omlettes for their tea[msnwink]
Have a great day all!!!
P.S Mizzy I will try that quiche recipe[clap][msnscared]
Mmm those quiches sound nice, would you have a slice of each on each day?
The Vegetable Flan thing I had was the thinest of crust, its from a french bakery, so very light. Well I'm allowed 15 syns a day aren't I, so I guess I blew them in one hit! ;)
<blockquote id="quote" class="ffs">quote:Originally posted by Twiglet

there free Theresa so you can have as much or as little as you want to[msnwink]
you should always eat enough to satify your appetite and NEVER go hungry
chilled and cut into wedges these quiches go nice in lunchboxes[msnsmile2]

Hey Sally, you've had a lot going on this week so maybe your needs have been different food wise! dont beat yourself up over it!! you have the determination and will do well again!![grouphug]
Oh Sally[grouphug] never mind.
I must admit I am finding the SW really great, I have done most other plans but this is the one plan I had not tried and I must say once you get into it its easy as there are no portion controls on free foods, which means there is always something you can eat[clap]
Sally they say a change is as good as a rest so why not give SW a try?? You would certainly have lots of support on here[msnwink]
Just back from the docs, change of meds, blood pressure up from last time ([:O]) - nothing to do with being in a tizz after getting stuck in the waitrose car park and worrying about being late then + hydrocortizone cream for the infections, told me my immune system is still shot to pieces.
That was after lunch out with my sister, mushrooms on arugula followed by vegetarian risotto. Am out this pm at Bosom Friends (the support group) so will miss supper - perhaps a bowl of soup when I get back.
In haste as need to walk the hounds (in the rain[msncry]), taxi service for YD and nip to get a few things I forgot from the supermarket - all this before 6!
food diary for me today "green day"
usual toast and ginger jam for brekkie[msnwink]
banana
lemon cheesecake yoghurt
2 ameretti biscotti
roasted peppers with rice and beans for lunch
chips egg and quorn sausages for tea
more fruit for later and i might have a some cadburys highlights honeycomb biscuits(4syns)[msnsmile2]
look after yourself Fiona[grouphug] your not superwoman you know!!!, get those girls and dh to pamper you once in a while
Mizzy
Food diary for me also a Green Day......
Porridge for breakfast
Skinny latte (skimmed as healthy extra)
Fresh pineapple
Mushroom risotto 1 syn
Skinny latte (skimmed as healthy extra)
Plum
Spinach, herb and onion frttata for tea 1 syn[msnwink]
Got pears or peaches for later and a yogurt[clap]
Really starting to enjoy this now[msnsmile]
Fiona ditto what Mizzy said don't overdue things[grouphug]
Thanks gals! Blown it today, came back to find DH eating his takeaway chinese, Pips wanted that too so I gave in and let her have some, and let her have her first practice driving in the dark to the takeaway, not to mention change of car from small manual to 4x4 automatic. She did v well - shame one of the L plates came off that was meant to be metallic! Anyway, you know what is coming next don't you, of course I had some! Oh I will have to be v good now for the rest of the week.
BF meeting was a talk and demonstration by Clarins, however, despite knowing that every single woman in there (bar my daughter) had undergone treatment for cancer did they discuss things for skin being hammered during hammer or radiation, not a bit of it, or how to counteract the effects afterwards, what hormone treatment does for your skin etc. Still, we all got a nice goody bag and an invite to go and get a free makeover at Fenwicks. Have decided to go to the gym tomorrow to make up for my sins today and book myself in for a facial[msnsmile].

Fiona, take it easy!!
had a reasonably good day, had more toast then anything else, as i was feeling bad this morning, headache gone
had a great evening at the Osmonds show, danced in my chair!! spent the night clapping, wonder if it would help my bingo wings!![msnwink]
Oh never mind Fiona, I'm sure it was chinese veggies eh [msntongue]
Leisa that's an amazing weight loss, well done, you must be thrilled. [clap][clap][clap]
I feel for you about the Migraines, unfortunately I seem to get them every few weeks, they are shocking. I have to take medicine and go to bed before the pain strikes, and the vomiting! Horrible things! What tablets do you take, I have been given Mercyndol Forte, but they knock me out, I don't surface for at least 24 hours, and then I'm a zombie for the next 24 hours!
My fluid retention seems to be subsiding this week, so hopefully I will have a loss next Monday. Although its a public holiday next Monday, so will have to wait until Tues to weigh in!
I did try and eat a lot more yesterday, but its hard to find nibbly free foods on a red day. Does anyone have any suggestions, I guess I have to have a heap of cooked meats ready to hand???
Oh Liesa I forgot to say something earlier (braindead most of the time nowadays!) well done on the weightloss, that is really good news, and you deserve it after the last few weeks.
Bad luck on the migraines I used to get them all the time when I worked in London, stopped when I had the children and only worked part-time - less pressure I guess. I get the occasional one now after travelling or busy day at a park - pressure again I think! Head massages help if you can catch it early enough, but I find damp flanned on eyes and strong painkillers with anti-nausea (again if I can take early enough), and sleep.
Theresa nibbles - what about sticks of celery and carrots, or don't you like that sort of thing? Hard boiled eggs - I try and keep a couple in the fridge and have with some baby tomatoes when starving and MUST eat something!
Morning all!!!
Fiona look after yourself!!! Glad you got a Clarins goody bag anyway[msnwink]
Theresa why don't you nibble on fruits, you must have a lovely selection of fruits down under? Last night I sliced some peaches and pured natural low fat yogurt over them - Yummy! Also like Fiona says carrots and celery dipped in natural yogurt or salsa?
I too have the dreaded fluid retention but hope it will be all gone by Tuesday[msnwink]
I also get monthy migraines my GP gave me Imigram been taking them for 15 years they knock you out for a while but take the migraine away for 12 hours or completely depending on how soon you take them[msneek]
Have a great day everyone!!![clap][sporty][clap][sporty][clap][sporty]

09-03-2006, 10:22
Well done on the 4lb loss Leisa[clap][clap][clap]
I had a good day yesterday, porridge, soup and roast chicken and veg for tea.
I have parents evening straight after picking Caitlin up from school today, hubby is finishing work early so we may eat out tonight. We don't often have the chance to eat in a restaurant together, mainly because the girls are ready for tea by 4pm and Tony doesn't normally get home till six, no desserts though and I will be good.
LiesaAnna
09-03-2006, 11:18
thanks for the advise on the migraine medication, i only took the tablets for my joints so hoped it would find the pain in my head! i was only thinking on tuesday that i hadnt had a headache for a very long time, then bang i got one! funny thing is my friend thought the same thing as she suffers monthly migraines which render her so incapable of doing anything, and as a childminder not so good, now with the aid of the iud called mirena coil and prozac her migraines are less then they were before but its still early days with mirena!she ended up in bed as well!
i must admit i used to suffer as a child very badly with migraines, every weekend i would get them, i think it was because i used to spend my dinner money on cigarettes daily! then come the weekend we had breakfast, large roast dinner and a good tea, so i ate very well, i read somewhere years ago you could get migraines through "binge eating"
but only dark room cold wet flannel over forehead and must vommit if it was to go!!
so glad those days are over! i dont feel as if its gone completely tho, so the tablets i have just taken for my joints would help shortly!
have a good day all!
Good Morning
well i've had the worst nights sleep in years i am more exhausted now than when i went to bed[msnmad][msncry]
it'll be ages before i wake up properly[msnsad]
i am planning on a red day today will have to remember what i planned to have when i've woken up properly
Theresa, Fiona has some really good ideas!! it doesn't have to be all meat nibbles how about making a very low syn trifle which you can go back and dip into whenever the munchies appear?
or about about some lovely seafood?
check back soon off to do school run, hope the fresh, freezing cold air helps wake me up
Mizzy
on those red days green days everybody do you notice its easier to lose weight on an average week with more of one or the other?
was just wondering about calorific intake with unlimited foods other than salads

I can't really believe it as I've not been really strict with myself and as you know went away last weekend with my best friends!
I put some black trousers on yesterday, which I havn't worn for absolutely ages, and they "hung" off me!!!
Anyway, I am now down to my target weight (at long last) but need to keep to this for the next 2 weeks or so!![msnsmile2][msnsmile2]

Congratulations to Sharon for getting to her target weight[clap][clap][clap], carry on like this and your wedding dress will be too big[msnsmile2]
Well done to Dianne on your achievement[clap]
I think I may start to look at slimming world as not much has been happening for me lately[msnsad]
Just off to work so will catch up later.
no Trev
for red and green most people work out in a few weeks which day suits them best (i like to alternate mine to get the best variety of food and to prevent boredom)
with the unlimited free foods they are the foods that will naturally lower you calorie intake by being foods that fill you up so you will no longer be hungry all the time, these free foods also are food groups that make your metabolism work to it's best capacity
the whole idea of food optomising is to take away that "on a diet" can't have /can have, no win situation and putting you back in control
you need to eat to satisfy your appetite, free doesn't mean eat just for the sake of eating but if you're are hungry then you always have something there that will prevent you from giving up because you feel like you "can't have anything to eat"
after all you can only live on salads for so long!!! this plan is about changing your eating habits to a more sensible approach that should stay with you for good
and whats more it works!!![msnsmile2]
Mizzy
oops!! we must have all been typing away at the same time!!
Congratulations to Dianne and to Sharon for reaching your targets
YOUR A STAR DIANNE!!!!!![clap][clap][clap] YOUR A STAR TOO SHARON!!!!![clap][clap][clap]
Gosh your gonna look fantastic in that dress Sharon, you must be sooo pleased[msnsmile2]we want pictures mind you
and Dianne i bet you look and feel great too[msnsmile2]
have a great day everyone[angel]
Mizzy
Well done Diane & Sharon, that's a great result! [clap][clap][clap]
Yep I am nibbling on heaps of fruits and veggies guys, I just meant if someone had other 'suggestions' for the red days. I made steak last night, and there was some leftovers, so I chopped it into cubes and nibbled on them through the night! Never done that before....was quite nice!
Yes we have wonderful fruit at the moment, summer fruits, better than plain old apples, bananas and oranges in winter. Although we are lucky as we can get nice fruit from Queensland sent down in winter.
I had to do a market research thing with my son this evening. When we got there they wanted us to taste some pasta. It was Macaroni Cheese! So we went in booths, and they passed it through this little serving hatch. I stirred it around, rearranged it, and passed it back through, didn't eat it! It was just to taste, so they didn't know I didn't! Son had to eat his though. Ha Ha ! It was mainly questions about the packaging and the likelihood of my kids eating it. My son hated it, so it was easy to complete, and he got paid $40 for doing it! Could you imagine the calories in Kraft Macaroni Cheese!
Oh I can just imagine Theresa, and you can make it yourself with skimmed milk and half fat cheese and know exactly what goes in it!
Well done Dianne & Sharon[clap][clap] - Sharon, we WILL want to see pix of the wedding dress, you have done sooo well.

Might have let myself down yesterday, not sure if beans on toast was ok for my evening meal?

We'll see what the scales verdict is tomotrrow, although I realise 4 days will not be long enough to judge on!

Thanks all for your lovely comments. You have all inspired me to go the whole hog!!!![msnsmile2][msnsmile2]
I really do have to watch my weight and just have to look at a cream cake for me to put weight on!!
I've done diets in the past and just got fed up with them and gave up half way through. You have all helped with all your advise and yummy recipes!! I thank you.
I am a real fan now of SW and as Mizzy states, its not a diet, just a healthy eating programme. I really enjoy it!
Hopefully I won't put too much weight back on whilst away in Florida[msnscared]
I'm sure you'll hardly put a lb on at all Sharon with all that exercise you'll be doing out there[msnwink]
i think i put 4lbs on last time[msneek] it must have been all the walking that stopped it from being more[msnembarrased]i was expecting at least 7lbs
another good day for me[angel]
had bbq chicken kebabs with roasted veg for tea
snacks of yoghurt banana, melon and 2 ameretti biscotti throughout the day
and i have a nice tall glass of fiery diet ginger beer to drink whilst i'm sat here typing away
the children have made chocolate cornflake cakes and i have resisted the temptation to have any because i know myself and one would lead to two and so on[msnscared]
i'm still being good!!![angel]

i have been very good all day, but very down, my son has left home at last, the flat is all ready, freshly decorated and sorted, and he has now flown the nest[msncry][msncry]he cried, his elder brother cried! Lauren cried, all so upset but hes only 2 miles away less then 10 mins in the car, its our Russ who pops in here on many occasions, hope he'll be very happy! only have 1 out of 6 left! and Terri shes half here and half at the boyfriends so cant really count her!
oh well, life goes on............
Aw big hugs Leisa, you must be delighted he has made a nice new nest for himself, but feeling lost without him in yours.
Be glad he is so near to you, some naughty people move to the other side of the world, too far to fly back very often! [msnsad]
Oh and that's not an excuse to eat chocolate either [msnwink]

Sounds like your daughter and her man are doing very well!

I had a good day yesterday. After Caitlins parents evening, which went very well, we decided not to eat out until Sunday......going for a Chinese then. It's funny I look forward to see how Caitlin is getting on, my Mum used to dread mine, can't for the life of me think why!
Everyone seems to be doing very well at the moment, I feel even though I'm being good I am not 100% motivated. I've just noticed my countdown clock is 4 months 1 day so if thats not the motivation I need I don't know what is.
I know my main problem is excercise so I will being trying harder over the next few weeks.

i dont know about my mum dreading mine, i know i did!!!! am sure i never took the letters home![msneek]
i really look forward to seeing Laurens teachers and discussing all the school stuff with them, only trouble is the teacher is going on maternity leave at the end of the month, most of the kids are on a downer already, the next parents evening may not be so good!!

Well I stayed the same :(
Last two weigh ins I have put on - so I suppose it's progress [msneek]
Think I made a reasonably good choice for my meal out last night [msnscared] chicken ceaser wrap with lots of salad [msntongue]
Had porridge this morning, cous cous and salad for lunch and chicken fillet and sweet potato tonight
More hard work to be done though [msneek]
Julieanne
its much better to stay the same than to gain but i know how frustrating it feels[msnsad]
and like you said you've only had four days so maybe it was a little too early to expect a result
keep up the good work and here's to a significant loss next week[clap]
Paula i know how you feel too, i really need to commit to more exercise, i am going to try and coax my diet buddy into becoming my walking buddy[msnwink]and then we can have a good gossip whilst fitting in some much needed exercise[msnsmile2]
Have a good weekend Theresa[msnsmile2]

Hello Girls (no boys around I see[msnwink])!!!
Julieanne, that is progress I really think you will see a loss on the scales next week[msnwink] Good food choice last night you just have to watch the dressings[msnwink]
Sharon, whenever I am faced with that kind of situation I actually find it easier not to taste ANYTHING at all, I find I can be stronger than if I have a tiny taste - good luck with it all[clap]
Paula and Mizzy - I honestly feel you would both benefit from some powerwalking, if you go it alone have an ipod or some way of listening to music the beat really helps[sporty][sporty][sporty] Like I have said to Mizzy if anyone would like a back copy of Personal Trainer for Women magazine I will post it to you just dm me your address I have a few copies still[sporty][sporty]

So far doing ok today.
Julie I will DM you my address if you don't mind posting one to me. I think alot of my weight problems are not getting enough exercise, if any. I think I speak on behalf of most people with a bit of weight to loose we could all do with burning off some calories. I know for a fact I make alot of excuses....work...pick Eve up from nursery........come home prepare tea.......pick Caitlin up from school.........come home feed the family and by the time the girls have had a bath and gone to bed the last thing I feel like doing is going for a run or dancing along with Davina, Angela or whoever on video. I may give the Peter Kay video a try though at least it will be a laugh.
I love swimming and can swim really well but I'm ashamed to say I won't go to the local baths[msnembarrased] I hate feeling like this, just wish I could switch off at times.
Paula, I don't know if you can do this but I find the only way to fit it in is to do it before the children get up, hence I am up at 5am most days, it also will do wonders for your mood all those endorphins will lift your mood and even though you get up early you actually feel less tired[msnwink]
Magazine on its way to you[msnwink]
For Liesa[grouphug], I am dreading the day that my girls start to leave home, yes they drive me up the wall sometimes, but it wouldn't be the same without any of them.
Well I will be glad when this week is over. To finish my week off I got my car back from the garage with a new power steering pump and a bank account £280 lighter[msnsad]. Our beloved rabbit died last night, he was 8 so an old man but so very sad as he was a dear little thing. This morning I took the dog for his walk in the usual place and somehow he got out onto the road, a country road but they speed along it. My heart was in my mouth, cars where stopping and I couldn't get to him, managed to grab him and then had to climb a barbed wire fence (not a pretty sight).
Food wise I have been very good today and have looked at slimming world and there are 5 classes local to me. I am going to think over the weekend about whether to go or not, didn't really want to go to a class but wanted to do it by myself.
Sally
you can go and sit in on a class before you decide if you want to join, just turn up a little early or give the consultant a ring and tell her that your not sure if it's for you or not but can you come and stay a little to see if you want to go ahead and join
the classes are always fun and you'll make some new friends and get stacks of support
sorry about your rabbit[grouphug] my childs guinea pig died a few months ago and i cried buckets for the little fella[msncry]
i'm struggling like h*ll today, im trying not to give into temptation and so far i'm winning (i have asked dh to remove biscuit box out of my reach)now i just have a come up with a delicious tea and i'll be fine[msnwink][msneek]
Mizzy
Sally I would thoroughly recommend a class - its not a failure to admit that a class may help you on the final journey, you have done so well on your own so far and this may just get you to where you want to be[msnwink]
I have signed up and paid for 10 weeks so I feel really commited and there are special offers on at the moment too[msnwink]
So sorry about the bunny Sally, and the incident with the dog[grouphug]
ooh is that the ten weeks with 2 weeks free Julie i'm signing up for that too come monday

LOL, did you not get some funny looks taking photos of pots of jam:D
Good morning everyone
Sally and Julie taking photo's of jam, what are you like? i have tried other makes of ginger jam but nothing is anywhere near to the "duerrs" one that i like i can only get it in little one serving pots (42g)i have even been known to have a pot in my handbag [msnembarrased] just in case [msneek]
well i've got to admit i had a ropey evening yesterday [msnscared] i should have most of the syns needed to cover the induldgences, crab pate on toast[msnembarrased]and a creme egg so maybe i can recoup the damage (creme egg 8.5 syns and crab pate 6 syns extra bread 6 syns)
i know why i did it , pre menstrual, bloated and fed up!!!, i always go for carbohydrates and chocolate[msncry] and here i was thinking i've finally cracked it[msneek]
i must work out a plan so i'm better prepared for next month[msnwink][msnscared]
Julie i'm glad you enjoyed your buttons, did you know that if you stick them in the fridge for a short while they last so much longer when you suck them, the freezer is even better[msnwink]
so here's the plan for me i need to have two very good days with 5 syns or under so i can even out the 20 extra syns that i have already had i'm off now to have my precious ginger jam and wholemeal toast (2yns)
will do food diary later
Mizzy
Mizzy "duerrs" is the jam in Sainsburys only it is in the regular large size, I will take another photo and post it later[msnsmile2]
Sally no one noticed thankfully, all the staff know me anyway as I pop in every morning[msnsmile2]
Yes my buttons had been in the fridge, I always keep chocs in the fridge[msnwink]
Just had a sneaky look on the scales and I am pleased just hope its the same at SW on Tuesday[msnscared]
Sorry you had a bad evening but like you say you had the syns so move on[msnwink]
I must admit I plan everyday, I bought two little recipes books at SW one for green days and one for red days, most of the recipes in them are 'free' so I just pick a couple of meals out of one or the other for that day and I'm off, just going to look now and decide[msnwink]
Have a great day all!!!!
Slightly off topic girls I know but hopefully you will excuse me as I have just heard I am a grandma for the first time

Had a good day today, went shopping and didn't buy the girls any treats at all so I won't be tempted. Eve who is 4 has suddenly took a liking for fruit she makes a little bowl of chopped bananas and apples and eats it with a spoon, she takes after me for chocolate so I am encouraging her all the way, she calls it banana cake.
It's just started snowing in Liverpool again[msnsad] you know you're getting old when this brings along dread instead excitement, searching through my wardrobe for reasonably sensible flat boots.
Congratulations Janny, that's great news and so exciting for you!
Well I had to go into work this morning to do a quick errand, and popped on the weighing scales today, as tomorrow is a bank holiday and can't do my usual weigh. I've lost 1.5 lbs so I am delighted! Its a day early too, so I am thrilled that after last weeks' gain, its come back off so quickly! So that's more cause for me to not 'blow it' when I get a gain, but to stay focused, not lose momentum and keep my morale up!
Well done Theresa that is great news[clap][clap][clap][clap]
Thanks Julie. I am glad I didn't lost site of the bigger picture, I was tempted to find solace in a Chocolate Bar, but I didn't! In fact I upped my exercise and started walking every morning instead!

Good luck with the weigh in tomorrow Mizzy!!![msnsmile2]
Yes good luck tomorrow with weigh Mizzy[msnwink][clap][sporty]
Sorry to hear you are feeling so low Liesa - hope you start feeling better soon.
It seems like ages since I posted here - but I have been checking in and reading every day.
Not really had a good couple of weeks - I'm very busy at work and Philip is even busier and he is also working most evenings at the moment (as well as all day!). Don't know if we are both just a bit down from coming back from Florida but everything seems a real effort at the moment.
Have struggled to stick to the diet and haven't lost anything in the last couple of weeks - I suppose the upside is that I haven't put any back on either.
I'm hoping that things will quieten down at work for me in the next few weeks but Philip doesn't think his will improve for 2/3 months!
In the meantime I will keep reading all the posts on here and try and do better myself with the diet. Have tried to do a 'red' day for Slimming World today. I made a sort of brunch for us both earlier this afternoon - Grilled sausage, bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms and scrambled egg. Hopefully that will keep us both going as Philip has just gone to a meeting about work and won't be back until about 10pm.
Just going to check the other threads on the forums now.

Hi everyone, another weekend nearly over and yet again I haven't had chance to get on here [msnsad]
Had to work Saturday, and for a few hours today [msnsad] but at least it stopped me going off the rails too much food wise - but I must confess to drinking beer last night [msnembarrased] [msneek] After almost 6 months of sticking to wine and sodas I just had to give in last night [msnembarrased]
[grouphug] for you Liesa, hope the weekend hasn't been too sad for you [grouphug]
Everyone seems to be doing really well - keep it going all [clap]

Tricia, you are very welcome, the more the merrier, buts what's Lipotrim?[msnwink]
If its a fat blocker or meal replacement please don't go there, not that its any of my business but just remember this.......
The promises are always attractive. The opportunity to lose weight quickly and easily is pretty hard to pass up. When the alternative is carefully monitoring your food intake and making huge efforts to become more physically active, how could simply popping pills seem like a bad idea? It seems too good to be true... and therein lies the problem
most of the time, it is too good to be true.
How much do you need to lose Tricia? I struggled with WW but since starting SW its like I have pressed the refresh button[msnsmile] I am really enjoying it, so maybe a change would work for you, at SW there are no limits on free foods so you never need to be hungry. I lost 5 1/2 lbs on my first week and its a very healthy way of eating too[msnwink]
Evening all[msnwink]
Another very good day today, had a red day today........
Porridge
Skinny latte (healthy extra)
Grilled sausage, bacon and dry fried egg,
Plum
Tuna quiche from SW book (free on red days) with roasted peppers
Apple
2 litres of water
Sliced peach with natural low fat yogurt
We stayed in the warm today so I did an extra 35 mins interval training on my treadmill[sporty][sporty][sporty][sporty]
Julieanne sounds like you are doing well so keep it up!
Well done everyone[clap][sporty][clap][sporty][clap][sporty]

Thats the site Liesa!
Julie -- I want to loose 2 1/2 stone, Lipotrim is a meal replacement, but has all the nutrients you need in each one, I have spoken to numerous people that are on it and have been successful, they recommend that when you lose the weight to join WW to keep it off. A lot of pharmacies are doing it, they monitor you and weigh you every week.
I have got all my food for the week, so will stuff myself tonight and start it in the morning!!!
so glad you've had a great red day Julie[msnsmile2]
i've had a great red day too[msnwink] roast chicken and vegetables for lunch and turkey meatballs in tomato sauce with roasted vegetables for tea
one pack of mini honeycomb bites 4 syns for a well deserved treat [msnsmile2]
Liesa i hope today wasn't too upsetting for you[grouphug]
Julie we all have the urge to break out once in a while and one bad day doesn't mean a bad week unless you let it, so stick with it and dont feel guilty, your doing great[clap]
thanks everyone for your good wishes for my weigh in i am hoping the scales will be kind[msnembarrased] but can't help thinking about that crab pate and creme egg, hope that i didn't spoil an otherwise good week
Mizzy
Liesa I know what you are going through, it is my Dads 10th Anniversary this coming Saturday, and the whole family are pulling together. My sister in Ireland has arranged a beautiful piece for the paper, with photos and poems. I am making a video of all the little snippets of Dad and overlaying it with a beautiful piece of music I found by Loreena McKennitt. Its a very sad time, and I feel myself weeping silently at the most odd times. Big hugs to you, I know how sad you feel.
Tricia I remember many moons ago (late 80s) doing the Cambridge Diet. Which was meal replacement products, shakes and bars. I did it for about 8 weeks and lost three stone. I had always been fairly slim, (pre kids weren't we all) but blew up over a year. I lost the weight very rapidly, but my skin was really weird for a while after, it felt horrible and loose, and it took months of toning exercises to tighten it all up.
In my experience, I would suggest trying SW with us for a while. Honestly, the weight loss might not be a fast, but it gives your metabolism time to rev up, and also your body will be more toned and feel better at the end. If you have purchased the product, why don't you try it for a week or two, but see it more as a kick start option, rather than long term??

Tricia are you sure about this? it seems a little drastic and the long term success rate for these type of total meal replacement programs are very very low
i know it is being monitored by the pharmacist but have you seen your gp he could perhaps offer you an alternative such as "xenical"(orlistat) which may be more appropriate as you can still eat healthy meals
we will still support and offer encouragement whatever you decide but i beg you to talk to your gp first[grouphug]

Tricia....I'm with Mizzy and Julie on this one (sorry to be a drag!!)
As Twiglet as stated, I too have done the meal replacement programmes myself in the past and yes, true, I lost weight very quickly BUT when I stopped and went back to normal eating , the weight went straight back on, even quicker than it came off [msncry][msncry][msncry]
....solution !!! healthy eating plan, not even a diet[msnwink][msnwink]

Thanks Mizzy, but I am sick and tired of buying size 16 and have seen the quick results on the Lipotrim, I am planning to stick with it for 4 weeks and then go on the maintenance, that will be a low fat meal and 2 shakes every day.
Loads of the nurses here in Plymouth are on it and are having fantastic weight losses.
Good Luck then Tricia[msneek][msnwink]

i will see what you do Tricia! i need this sort i think! its the mind for me i think, if i see the results showing then get the need to carry on! but when it is slow to show i get so bored!! I've never done the meal replacements so am curious, let us know how you go Tricia please
sorry Theresa about your forthcoming anniversary, mustve had a terrible time at the same time! mums is 10 years today, have spent most of the day with dad, didnt feel like it as i felt terrible all day, have a headache brewing now, brings it all back like it was yesterday!
feeling a bit better then this morning, been so so with grub today, not much of an appetite, but have done some tiling for dad so that may have burnt the fat!! i live in hope![msnwink]
i was on xenical sometime ago (orlistat)zencial
didnt do anything for me unfortunately, nor my neighbour who had it as well,
i feel like doing something drastic! gastric bands? i dont know, my weight loss is so slow i get bored!!
Morning all!!
Tricia like Mizzy says good luck with it, but after you have done it for the 4 weeks please consider something of a life style change like SW you maybe pleasantly surprised[msnwink]
Liesa I know you won't like what I say but its difficult for us to comment or help you on a day to day basis as you don't post your food diary - without wanting to be overly harsh if you don't have a proven plan and stick to it then it's unrealistic to expect results[msnsad] I know that from my own experience!
Theresa, Mizzy, Sharon, Julieanne, Paula, keep up the good work!!![clap][clap][clap]
Sally what have you decided about SW are you going to go along and see what its like? AS Mizzy says you don't have to join if you don't like it, but it maybe worth a visit[msnwink] You have done so well so far it maybe what you need to reach your final goal[clap]
[grouphug]For all those with sad aniversaries at this time, our bad time is August[grouphug]

I had a good day yesterday even though we went out for a chinese meal. I skipped dinner and didn't eat too much.
I've got to say I too have tried most quick fix diets, cambridge diet, micro diet and slimfast, although these did show results quite quick the weight came back on pretty quick after stopping. I couple of years afo I even tried slimming tablets[msnembarrased] I ate virtually nothing as I was never hungry, my hair was lank and horrible, I had terrible skin and nails, I lost 2 stone in two months and put it back on in one. Although I would love to find a quick fix solution the only way to looase weight and remain healthy is with healthy eating.

Julie,
it doesnt sound harsh
just mine is boring , i dont eat anything like what you all do, i hate cooking, i tried many years ago and my family are so fussy i gave up on nicer foods!! dont want to change my family, theyre great as they are, but maybe i can try and change some of it?,as there is Steve Lauren and myself here now, so maybe will try harder, with veggies and different foods? depending on my moods/pain through the day, i stick to the oatso simple like you suggested many months ago, recently i changed for about a week, no idea why just wanted cornflakes/weetabix/cheerios, anything as long as i could spoon sugar on to it! i havent had sugar on cereal for a couple of years maybe longer, but have got back into not having it as i enjoy oatso simple, lunch maybe a sandwich, depending whether i fancy eating or not, sometimes i have a subway when i go out with my best friend,
dinner when can be bothered, mash, , potatoes of some description, or oven chips, and something meaty, and something on the side, see told you it was boring!
now and again i have a bowl of cereal in the evening, but not very often
i will post a diary at the end of every day, am really getting in the mood now, so thanks Julie for saying what you have, maybe its the motivation/kick up the backside i needed?
will give it ago
had a good nights sleep last night which makes a pleasent change, didnt go to sleep till after 2am, watching maternity on the health channel!!
have a good day everyone!!

Liesa - as Julie suggests post your food diary and then you will probably see yourself where you are going wrong. I definately found it helped me writing down <span style="color:red">everything</span id="red"> I ate.
As you know you'll get lots of help from everyone here, but be prepared to be told off if you are naughty!! [msnwink]
I've had a fritata (sp?) (cold left over potato and onion omlette from last night) for breakfast. Was at work for 7.30 so this was the easiest option. But I've not brought my lunch today and not planned my evening meal as I don't know what time I'll finish work - so I may not have the perfect food day today [msneek] I will do my best to make good choices though!!
Here's to a good week everyone [msnsmile2]

Morning everyone,
Well its flippin freezing here this morning which made me do the power walk from the car to the school gates!!![msnwink] Harry thought it was funny because "mummy" was walking funny!!![msneek]
Anyway, burnt some extra calories doing that, eh?[msnsmile2]
2 weetabix with skimmed milk for breakfast
Black coffee
Already had 1 litre of water
Jacket potatoe with fat free cottage cheese for lunch
Dinner????? Havn't made my mind up yet!
Still doing my "twist and shape" and can really tell now that my hips, thighs and upper legs are alot more toned!
Paula..how you doing with yours??
Still need to tone my tummy up, any suggestions anyone??? I can't do anything like sit ups though because of my back condition![msncry]
good morning everyone
it is freezing here along the north east coast and also very icy[msnsad]
Sharon the choice is unimited for tea, you can carry on with a green day or you could count the jacket as a healthy extra and have a lovely red tea how about chicken breasts in red wine? quick and easy from tesco add a bag of pre prepared microwave veg and your away or maybe a nice piece of steak with roasted vegetables?
roasted vegetables taste gorgeous and are very simple to do, chunky sliced courgettes peppers, red onions ,cherry tomatoes and even beetroot throw them all on a tray spray with fry light add herbs/spices if you like, 20 mins in oven and hey presto a nice healthy alternative to the usual boiled veg and the chips/potatoes[msnsmile2]
Liesa i dont like cooking either
maybe you could go for the very simple 1/3rd to 2/3rds ratio of eating, you put a portion of protein and carbohydrate on a third of your plate and free vegatables on the other two thirds
eat a nice healthy breakfast of oats so simple or wholemeal toast, snacking on fruit with the occasional low fat yoghurt and then a small treat in the evening such as a funsize chocolate bar
the main thing is to keeps treats, special occasion food to less than 10% of your total food consumption
if you not sure with proteins/carbohydrates you could ask the nurse at the doctors and i'm sure she can get you a nice colouful chart from the dietician showing these, my m.i.l has one on her kitchen door and it came from the dietician
remember that not only you benefits from the healthy eating you will be passing on to your little girl healthy eating habits which will reduce the chance of her having weight problems in later life
come on Liesa i'm sure you can do this and we will suport you every step of the way[clap]
Julieanne i cant beleive you said that we tell people off!!! it makes us sound so cruel
if people are having difficulites we support and encourage them back onto the right track, we are all only human after all and everyone has off days including me [msnwink]
so have a fantastic week everyone especially those starting a whole new healthier lifestyle[clap][clap][clap]

Congratulations to Janny, what lovely news[msnsmile2]
Well done to Theresa[clap][clap]
Sorry if I have missed anyone, not been able to come on over the weekend as things are still hectic here. Spent 4 hours in A and E last night with an 81 year old friend who had a bad turn, thought that it was it for him, but he is now on the mend. Was going to see him today but Jessica woke us in the night, she had been sick, still being sick this morning and tummy upset too[msnscared]. No school for her today so no work for me.
Have been very good food wise over the weekend, not sure about Slimming World yet, not had time to give it any thought. I am hopeing for a lose this week though.
As I have college early this evening Rachel and Hannah are making dinner and looking after Jessica until Peter comes home[msnscared], they are going to make chicken in sweet chilli and red pepper sauce with rice.
Freezing here too!!!!
Liesa I am so glad you took my comments in the manner they were intended[msnsmile] bored eating is a killer and I for one know how much effort it takes to do it right but you may find you will enjoy it once you get into it[msnwink] Like Julieanne once posted you could always follow one of our diaries the day after we post or do what Mizzy suggests the 1/3 - 2/3 ratio known as Success Express at SW - if you go online you can fill in your diary online too[msnwink]
Mizzy I love the roasted veg, so quick and easy, my favourites are roasted peppers and red onion[clap][clap]
Sharon children are so funny the things they say and do!!
Have you tried 'core control' for your tummy? Its dead easy, all you do is decide a time when you can do it eg. in the car whilst driving or sitting watching TV, pull your tummy muscles in as if there is a string pulling from your tummy button to your spine and then hold for as long as you can but whilst still breathing (don't hold your breath as well as your muscles!) do this for as long as possible then break for 10 seconds and repeat as often as you can, over time the you will beable to hold for longer and you won't even notice you are doing it[msnwink]
Sally you poor thing!!! Hope jessica feels better soon and the meal sounds yummy!!!
Have a great day all!!!

Thanks all for your support, we all know how things are meant on this thread and never take this the wrong way, i ask for help, you all respond, so kind of you all, but am really going for it!!
have done my housework!! met dad and took him to the florist and then cemetry, someone had beat us to it with flowers, (didnt go yesterday dad lives alone and gets so upset, so we spent the afternoon and evening with him)and took him today he can cope better during the week as he goes out and has breakfast in town for company, blooming freezing at the cemetry!! mum would be so mad if she saw him standing there!
having a nice cuppa, got such a shock as i was walking up the driveway! could hear a smoke aloarm going off, it was in Terri's bedroom!! i ran upstairs but nothing was wrong but i did leave the window open and sometimes these things react with cold! i suppose the other ones will wait till the middle of the night when im asleep and go of!!
still feeling ever so positive!!!!

Hi everyone, just been busy on the villa the weekend, pool heater is playing up / died, won't bore you any further, but let me just say it sounds VERY expensive!
Woke up freezing this morning which was not a good start, not much better walking with the hounds, although did make me move round pdq!
Toast & soupcon of apricot jam for brekkies (going back to porridge tomorrow as was starving by 11.30!) jacket pot, cheese, beans & spring onion for lunch, pasta will be spag bog with lots of pasta and salad, and v little meat.
Drinking tons of water, and brought nectarine, 2 tangerines and an apple to work for the munchies.
Have a good week everyone, or shall we just take it one day at a time!

Veg and herb frittata with 5 home made potato wedges 1 syn
2 litres of water
Got a peach, plum and low fat natural yogurt for later[clap][clap][clap]
Sounds like we are all doing well!!!!
Mizzy thinking of you, hope it was a good loss for you[msnsmile]
Hello everyone! Thanks for the kind words from everyone on my Dad's anniversary.
This weekend was a long weekend, hence my not being around. I was very good though, the only 'naughty' indulge I had was a WW chocolate steam pudding with WW custard. Not sure how many syns, I couldn't look up the syns (must get the password) but I am sure it wasn't that bad being WW!!!
Yesterday we spent 6 hours at Chadstone Shopping Centre, which is the biggest shopping centre in Victoria! I am sure we walked many kms. For lunch, I had my first decision making to do at a Food Court since starting WW. I bypassed the Hungry Jacks/McDonalds/Mexican Nachos/Italian Pastas/etc, and went to the Asian counter. I had chinese stir fry beef and chicken with vegetables (red day) and said no to the rice and noodles! Mid afternoon we were wilting, so I had a New Zealand Dairy fruit smoothie (no fat yoghurt with fresh pureed Mango/Passionfruit, as a 'pick me up'. I did lose pounds and pounds, actually it was dollars, I am just converting. Hopefully I converted fat into muscle at the same time, that's the conversion I like best!
Diary for yesterday (Mon)
Porridge
Chinese Beef/Chicken
Fish in Tarragon Sauce with carrots, corn and peas
Snacks: NZ Smoothie, 2 skinny lattes and a tiny fun size snickers to keep me going!

What a picture - us girlies all over the country holding our tummies in [msneek] [laugh]
Liesa - when you have bread, try and eat wholegrain types of bread - about 6 month ago the only bread I would eat was white. I can't believe how much I now love trying all the "seeded" , "nutty" and "grainy" types of bread - they're great [msntongue] But I also try and keep it to a minimum....

Morning all...nite nite twiglet[msnwink]
Liesa....Nice to see your food diary!
What have you planned for lunch?
Me so far....
....2 weetabix with skimmed milk
Black coffee
1 litre of water (already)
good morning
i have just got back from a very slippery school run, nearly fell flat on my bottom twice which i'm sure would have been highly amusing for the kids in the playground[msneek][msnembarrased]
i am ready to start another week and i'm going to give it 100%
Julieanne i agree with you about the bread i switched to wholmeal well over a year ago and now i wont touch white it just doesn't seem to have any taste, i eat a max of two slices per day or i sometimes swap for wholmeal pitta bread or the odd roll
i am going to have a green day today and have decided on roasted peppers with rice and beans which is one of my favourites because it takes 10 mins to prepare 20 to cook, there's always enough left for the freezer, plus it fills you up for hours[msnwink]
i am thinking of maybe a nice quorn and vegetable curry for tea with sw chips[msnsmile2] well i'll have had rice for lunch so chips will make a nice change[msntongue]
and finally a few words of wisdom from my class consultant
"if you fail to plan then you plan to fail"
"the different types of hunger"
learning to recognise the different types of hunger is the key to winning your weight loss battle
when you really want something to eat you need to ask yourself, is it my head thats hungry or my stomach?
head hungry is usually when we're bored and want food just because it there and stomach hungry is when you haven't eaten for a while and your stomach rumbles to tell you to eat
only eat when your stomach tells you to and tell those little demons in your brain to bog off!!
have a good day everyone [angel]

Hello all....flying visit as just in from working late, and have to be back in first thing tomorrow morning to open up!
I agree about the wholemeal grainy breads. I haven't eaten white for years, I think its so bland now. The grainier the better, and if you find a low GI one, it fills you up and lasts for ages, in the same way porridge does. A white bread sandwich would have me hungry again in 30 mins, whereas there is a brand here called Performax, which is low gi, and it fills me up for around 3 hours, before I start feeling peckish! I am sure there is similar brands at home.
Diary
Porridge
Vege burger on slice of Performax
Vege sausages, SW mash and mixed veg, with apricots and a fat free mousse on top!
Snacks: Skinny Cappucino, banana, grapes, pear, masses of water!
This week is going to be a test for me as I am going out for a Thai meal with mums from school tomorrow night. Plan on having mainly a red day...so kebabs and some sort of meat/veg dish tomorrow night. Then Friday is St Patricks night, and its our annual girls night out with friends (we are all expats from UK & Ireland ~ we've kind of 'found' each other and understand the homesickness we go through) we usually hit a great pub in town, great bands, etc. So I plan on having Vodka & diet lemonade that night....but will drink heaps of water too!

for lunch 1 packet of cheese and onion mcoys crisps, and a twix, not king size, this is what i fancy today!, i have just returned from physio at hospital and had acupuncture for the first time ever, and dont have a lot of mobility in my left hand! so going to just relax and unwind, read the paper and laugh at Fern and Phil!
Well I am back and .........I have lost 2lbs!! That's half a stone in 3 weeks[clap][clap][clap][clap]
I am thrilled and I have my 1/2 stone award proudly stuck on the front of my SW book!!!
Having a Red day today so I am going to make a Tuna Chop House Style salad...dead easy to make and ready in 5 mins.....tin of tuna (in spring water not oil) toms, cucumber, celery, spring or red onions, peppers etc all mixed with a low fat natural yogurt and some salt, pepper and dried mint[msnwink] Yummy!
Theresa sounds like you are doing really well[clap]
Sharon, Mizzy, Julieanne keep up the good work[clap]
Liesa your lunch although its what you might fancy does not have any nutritional value and is high fat and has no minerals or vitamins for your health, how about some fresh fruit? Veg? Fresh wholegrain bread? Anything would be better the chocolate and crisps - sorry!
Have a great afternoon all!!!!

Well done Julie, that is really good.
Liesa, you cannot call what you ate lunch - that's a snack - and not a good one either[gun]. Mizzy is right planning is the key to it all. However, there is always tomorrow - but that doesn't mean you have to write the rest of the day off, just think positively and have a healthy supper - and plan what you are going to have in a couple of hours when you are starving again. What about thinking about a jacket potato with beans and cheese? And having carrots and celery in the fridge, easy to eat, and takes the edge off the munchies.
Porridge for brekkies, banana and just waiting for my jacket to finish cooking, will be having with cheese and beans & red onion. Supper will be tomato pasta.
Weigh in today, and will be interesting if the new tablets have had any effect. Started on Thursday so possibly too soon to tell. Still feeling v tired again, and boy was it cold walking the hounds. Met 2 other lady dogwalkers and turned round to walk with them, so only half the walk, but no fun in the snow/rain that was coming down into our faces. Hands are drying up every few hours so definately chilly day again:( - come on weather it's meant to be spring!
Thanks Fiona, good luck with your weigh in and hope the new tabs have not affected your weight in any way[msnsmile]
Hi Everyone
Fiona good luck with the weigh in
Macka i am so pleased you've lost 3lbs whether its down to being ill or not it's still an acheivement, now the trick is to keep it off when you feel better[msnwink]

I used to have 2 PT sessions a week a few years ago then cut it down to 1 a week then last year I decided I could do all the workouts on my own but every now and then I book a PT session with him to update my training and he REALLY puts me through it - so much so that I normally ache and can hardly walk for days after, he find muscles that I didn't even know existed[msneek] no matter how hard I have been pushing myself[sporty] He really is great, very well trained and ex army[msnoo] and a great friend, and even though it hurts like hell I really love my workouts with him[clap] He enters the Iron Man Triathlons every year and is super fit but really practises what he preaches[msnwink]

well done Julie, and Macka, tried many times to get in this afternoon but something mustve been wrong with the OV site or maintainance?
well yes i was naughty with McCoys and choc, but was going to have a me day!! well food wise, that was all i fancied! went for physio and had accupuncture, gave me painfree afternoon, if you can say that? had Bradley for the afternoon, and hes at the terrible twos stage!![msnscared] but he was very good!!
had a small shepherds pie for dinner, made by moir!juat had a cake at dads! done mega tiling for him, and now undone all the good the physio did?
will go from scratch with diet/healthy eating from tomorrow as its weigh in day!
joints all aching like crazy, so off for a soak in the bath!!
nite xxx
thanks for your help with advice etc, i will do it from tomorrow!! feeling very good about everything, but dont think i eat enough at times and yes i have eaten the wrong foods today, but will do a shop and get some lovely fruit and veggies!!

Macka...hope you're feeling better? Soon be your holiday[msnsmile2]
Julie...way to go lady:D:D...we won't be able to see you soon at this rate!![msnwink][msnsmile2]
Well my food diary went off from the SW programme but still ate healthy! Had Tuna steaks for dinner with lots of fresh steamed veg.
Then tucked into a WW dessert of cheesecake[msnembarrased][msnembarrased].....made it better later though as I did 20 minutes on my "twister"[msnwink]and tried to wash the cheescake away with a gallon of water:D
Liesa....Be positive tomorrow[msnwink]
Lost ½lb - better off than on - must have been that quick walk I nipped out with the dogs and 6pm tonight!!
Got to work all week at the office as someone off on hols, so getting very tired. Think I will have another green day and will have bean salad, cottage cheese and hard boiled eggs, just have to cook the eggs and broad beans tomorrow morning - I know it sounds odd but I love it.
Liesa I can't think all that tiling is doing you any good at all, you must be careful, and of course it must be making you tired, and we all know what happens when we get tired = must have sugar lift, and somehow a banana never tastes as good.
We are having our tasting last Tues of the month and all have to cook a frittata so I think I must get into practice, trouble is I like the real thing and can't quite get my head round having pasta in it, will see if I can find a recipe I like.
I was thinking of pea risotto for supper tomorrow, but have everyone home, and if you had seen the way the bolognese got picked over to pick out the mushrooms (which I had chopped so small they were almost invisible!) I can imagine what will happen if they get risotto. Looks like tomato pasta again, and I am so fed up with that!
Have a good day peeps, just got to take the dogs up the road, am almost falling asleep here and another early start.
Well-done Fiona 1/2lb off is good!!!![clap][clap][clap] Don't go over doing it, tired is not good[grouphug] We got given a recipe for 3 bean chilli for green day at SW yesterday, I will did it out and post it later[msnwink]
Liesa sounds like you are getting your motivation going in the right direction[clap] Get that shopping basket full of all good things[msnsmile]
Sharon well done on your twister I am sure you have burnt of the WW cheesecake, it won't have been that bad anyway if it's a WW one[msnwink]
Think I will have another Red day today as I have a small amount of bolognese sauce left over which I could have at lunch time, also everyone home at different times tonight so may have Tuna steaks with roasted veg - not sure yet[msnsmile]
Have a great day all[clap][sporty][clap][sporty][clap][sporty][clap][sporty][clap][sporty][clap]
Well done to Fiona, Julie & Macka......everyone is on a winning streak this week...how good is that!
I am nervous I will blow it this week, with my night out tonight (which will be in about an hours times) and St Pats, but I am walking heaps too.
I will post my food diary later and confess what I had!
Actually the menu is online! What do you think I should order on a red day? http://www.poppys.com.au/menu.asp
Fresh Tiger prawns or Lemon Snapper (gosh they both sound delicious) seem to have the least added sauce, otherwise one of the ones that are stir-fry with soy sauce and not to much of the oyster sauce etc. Bet those prawns are a decent size too and taste of something!
Just off with the hounds, porridge when I come back, forgot my cleaner comes today so I can't be fiddling round in the kitchen when she is here, so it might be another jacket pot after all!
Have a good one everyone.
Thanks Fiona! Sounds good, I will go back and commit their description to memory! Thanks again!
Good Morning Everyone
Fiona way to go girl [clap] it's all heading in the right direction[msnwink]did you get a recipe leaflet in class with a laughing cow money off voucher in class , that had a nice cheesy fritata on (i could post the recipe for you, i made it and it was lovely)
Sharon i can't see how you went of the plan, you can have ww products ,just check out the syns online and enjoy[msnsmile2] this weeks password is "cabbage" and a ww cheescake wont even be all your daily syns allowance so you have had a great day on the plan[clap][angel]

well done Fiona!!!
well i PUT ON 3 1/2lbs!! wonder why??[msnwink]
but that will be the last weight on week for many many weeks!!
think i have found the right motivation!! ME!!!
blood pressure still high! did dads tiling last night, i so love DIY, i find it relaxing in a funny sort of way! i didnt over do it, i did more at Russells flat but Steve has decided he likes to play now as well, so dont do as much, more slapping grout on and passing the tile really!!
will do my shopping tomorrow night, will do a list so idea please?
will buy lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, love them!!
this is going to be my new start now!!! ready for the summer, only around the corner!!
thanks everyone for your words of encouragement!! and good wishes!! will need you all more now then ever before, so thanks in advance!![grouphug]
Liesa, sorry you put on but just start again and it will soon come off.
Well done Fiona[clap]
Hope you have anice evening Theresa.
Well I am happy today <span style="color:red">2lb off</span id="red">, thats just the boost I need, it has really put me in the right frame of mind and I am going for it.
Back to normal here, Jessica is now better and back at school, hopefully no one else will come down with that nasty bug.
Mizzy I have that leaflet, can't quite get round the pasta, but am going to try it as I know you said it was tasty.
Liesa you can eat chocolate, but allow for it. Trouble with me is stopping at just 1 small bar, ditto biscuits etc so I fnd it better not to have anything like that in the house because otherwise I WILL eat it!
For breakfast you need things like porridge or other cereal (branflakes), wholemeal toast with jam / marmite, or eggs (poached, scrambled, boiled) on toast with baked beans, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms cooked in water - add some black pepper and parsley and they taste much better than that sounds!
Lunch then can be jacket pot with beans and grated cheese, spruced up with some chopped onion, or with tuna & extra low-fat mayo, or cottage cheese & salad. If you love lashing of butter on it, try and cut down to a soupcon and then eventually to nothing. Or a sandwich with brown bread with meat & salad, or cheese & salad or egg (depends what you have had for brekkies really).
Allow for snacks for when you get the munchies or it will all end in distaster - chopped carrots, celery, even pepper sticks if you like them, make yourself a dip with quark slightly flavoured with lemon or chilli powder if you like it spicy. This is when you can have a mini packet of choc buttons or something like that.
Plenty of fresh fruit - at least 5 portions of fruit and veg to be eaten a day.
Drink lots of water - at least 5 glasses a day on top of tea and coffee which acts as a diuretic, many people are dehydrated giving them joint aches etc. Pee should pale yellow in colour (sorry about this folks), if it is not, you are not drinking enough water.
Supper - rice / pasta / potatoes with meat / fish / fowl and large portion of veg or salad to accompany it. Or veggie rice / pasta if you prefer.
Pud - low fat jelly and low fat cream with some fruit is good - can make a quick pud with a small meringue, squirty low fat cream and some frozen raspberries / blueberries (whatever you like fruit wise) - obivously allowing any frozen fruit to defrost, and makes tasty pud with low calories.
Here endeth the lesson!

I was having a good day until I've had to choose the food for our wedding reception meal. Now I'm feeling hungry after reading all the delicious recipes!!![msncry][msncry] Will have some more water instead to fill me up. I am so determined now not to put any weight back on[msnsmile2]
Have a good one everyone
Well Done Sally thats a great acheivement[clap][clap][clap]
Julieanne, Fiona has suggested some great teas i would suggest you have a green day as you have had two healthy extras with oats and chicken now you can have unlimited pasta potatoes rice etc
so how about chips for tea,!!!beans and a fried egg or with quorn sausages(all free food on green)[msntongue] Julie posted how to make sw chips a few weeks ago but i can dm you the recipe if you want
Sharon with the attitude you have at the moment i can't see you putting the weight back on, you seem to have accepted that you have to change your lifestyle in order to lose weight and keep it off and this is the main route to longterm success, as you know there is no such thing as a quick fix and to manage your weight you have to change your attitudes to food not for a few weeks but for life and you've definately done that

Fiona i thank you!!
Sally very well done!
have had oatso simple for breakfast, love it!

will go for a poached egg on toast for lunch today, and is pasta with napoletana sauce ok for dinner this evening? its an asda one, its Laurens favourite so have to share with her, going for an easy dinner tonight as friends round later and want to relax instead of DIY and hours at the cooker!,
am determined very determined now!! not going to follow any particular slimming club just cut down and asking advise, hope this is ok?
RE mothers day, boring ol me has asked if the children would like to get me something , would they like to club together for dolls house vouchers, we have a wonderful shop a 30 min drive with such lovely items for the houses in there, and it is my house![msnwink] couldnt get anymore personal for me then that!! choc is forbidden now!!! until i get on the right track!!

Very busy day so a quick visit!
Well-done Sally[clap][clap][clap][clap]
Never mind Liesa, just reset and start from today[clap] Watch those flavoured Oats so Simple you should really have the plain one which you can add fresh fruit to[msnwink]
Off out again now just been to the Hygenist so I have nice shiny pearly white teeth:D
Catch you all later[msnsmile]
Liesa that sounds good to me, any convenience food has colourings and additives in, but we all need things in the store cupboard for when we are short of time. As long as majority of time you are cooking from scratch you will be doing ok - I am firm believer of cutting down on convenience food as much as possible. I am sure (without any facts to back me up mind you) that alot of the problems with ADS, asthma and some of the skin disorders, never mind possible links to cancer are due to the additives in food or the hormones given to cattle etc.
Off my high horse and back to looking through old SW mags for some new recipes, just found a rice and spinach pilaf, well my lot wouldn't allow a leaf of spinach to pass their mouths (the daughters that is, DH and I have no probs!) So need to look for something different, perhaps peppers they eat them.

[clap] [clap] Sally - well done
Mizzy I already have the recipe for SW chips, but thanks anyway. As I may be short of time tonight I will probably settle for a jacket pot. All this working late plays havoc with my food plans, also missing my gym sessions...
I printed the weetabix recipe off a few weeks ago - haven't had time to try it yet though.
Wonderful night out with the Mums. We talked and talked and ate and ate. I had the King Prawns with pepper, it was beautiful, and veggies, and a small spoon of rice. Unfortunately I could't resist and had 2 spring rolls and 3 glasses of wine! I know I know....it was hard because there weren't any "good" entrees really! [msnsad]
Anyway I am sooo tried now, its midnight ..... so going to bed...night all!

I would love to join here, but I can not understand your language.[msnscared]
Is porridge cereal?
Cottage Pie?
I just recently joined a site myfooddiary.com and have lost a couple of pounds this week. It makes you accountable for what you eat and keeps track of your caleries, fat, fiber, etc. It has several food stored in the database, but I doubt it would some of the food I see here though.
Hiya Kay - you know we are separated by a common language!
Porridge = porridge oats (I bought Quaker oats from Publix last time I was at the villa)
cottage pie - minced steak, onions, carrots, celery, tomatoes & mushrooms (or anyuthing else you want to chuck in it to bulk it out) with mashed potato topping.
shepherds pie - minced lamb as per above (we like to confuse you[msnwink])
Sharon - love it LOL!
Kay you are very welcome[clap][sporty][clap][sporty]
Going for a Green day today, don't know what I am having yet though[msnscared]
Have a great day all[clap][clap][clap][clap]

if we can help and encourage you then thats great, dont be shy if there is anything you dont understand!!
have fun and good luck!
