Morning everyone,

Welcome Kay and well done on your weight loss[clap][clap]

Well I've been dreaming of wedding cakes all night!!!! (I wonder why)
What gets me as well is that I'm not really a cake fan either!![msneek][msneek]
I can't decide what flavour! Here's some of the different flavours....be shocked!!

White
White Almond
Chocolate
Yellow
Red Velvet
Marble
Strawberry
Carrot
Banana Nut
Pineapple
Chocolate
Raspberry
Raspberry Swirl
Lemon Swirl
Pina Colada
Spice
Peanut butter [sick][sick]
Caramel Surprise

Am I boring ?.....I just want a nice looking, elegant Ivory coloured cake ( with not so many calories in)

Oh sorry ladies! Do SW do a nice one?[msnwink]

So far..

2 weetabix with skimmed milk ( no ginger jam left Mizzy![msncry])
Black coffee
lots of water
Jacket potatoe with Tuna..planned for lunch

Have a good one everyone.[msnsmile2]

Well I love carrot cake Sharon, not sure if it's everyone's idea of a wedding cake though
Pina Colada sounds interesting [msntongue]
What's red velvet I wonder?

mizzy
16-03-2006, 14:01
oooh Sharon you torment you, now i am a big cake fan

can you mix the flavours ? if so i like the sound of chocolate and almond also lemon and coconut but the caramel surprise sounds tempting as well, decisions, decisions!!!
it a one tier caker? or can you have 3,4 tiers etc;

if it was mine i'd want about 4 tiers all a different flavour[msnsmile2][msnwink]but then i could eat cake for breakfast lunch and tea[msneek][msnembarrased][msnsmile2]

i dont think you would get a SW one and even if you did i'm sure your guests wouldn't be too happy[msnwink]

and as for that ginger jam Sharon, i think it's addictive because i get all emotional when i run out too[msnwink]

now i must dash to the hospital, catch you later

Mizzy

Sharon G
16-03-2006, 14:08
It's a 3 tier cake where they all sit on top of each other rather than have the columns between each tier!

Can you imagine anyone wanting a peanut butter wedding cake???

Paul would like the chocolate flavour whilst I fancy the strawberry!
Mizzy...may take up your idea and ask for 3 different flavours for each tier!!![msnwink][msnwink]

julieanne
16-03-2006, 14:09
Must try this ginger jam [msntongue] if I can find it....

16-03-2006, 14:27
Wow! All those flavours to choose from Sharon[msnwink] Pina Colada I love the drink but not sure if I'd want a cake that flavour LOL!!!

Snowing here too and frezzing cold again[msnscared]

Busy day in the home office but will keep popping in[msnwink]

Julieanne Duers Ginger Jam in Sainsburys[msnwink]

LiesaAnna
16-03-2006, 15:12
Sharon such a tease!![msnwink] myself i love lemon swirl, very much against chocolate!!
my best friends son was married a few years ago and they wanted to be different, the bride chose a choccywoccydooda cake choc outside and in!! couldnt eat it![msnscared] just much to much!!

but they all do sound nice, well not sure about peanut butter?

let us know what you decide!![msnwink]

16-03-2006, 15:13
Welcome Kay and well done on your loss so far[clap]

Sharon, don't know how you are going to pick out of all of them, I would keep changing my mind.

I would end up being revolting and pick - top tier - lemon, second tier - caramel surprise, and bottom - chocolate[sick]

No snow here but looks like it may start to rain soon[msnsad]

Gosh what a choice Sharon, have to say a cake low in calories is an oxymoron unless it is a fatless one! Probably a bit unrealistic for your big day, just accept you are going to have loads of naughty things that day and enjoy every minute of it!

Personally I would think about something like lemon swirl as need to play safe and most people would like that, alcohol ones might be too distinctive, ditto peanut butter (yeuck personally!) and chocoloate - well VERY high in calories and often as Liesa says too rich to actually eat.

I take it the traditional fruit cake has gone out of fashion? A light sponge must be less fattening than that though!

Not hungry this am, on 2nd mug of hot water with lemon so just had a hardboiled egg and a couple of baby tomatoes, just planning what to have for the rest of the day. Just DH and me tonight, so we can have a stir fry using the left over pork that the gals wouldn't touch!

Freezing cold again, walked the hounds and taken them off for a shampoo and blow dry so they will come back looking beautiful and lets see how long it takes before one of them has a roll to get rid of the smell!!

16-03-2006, 15:24
Decided on bean and roasted pepper cous cous for lunch and may try something with Quorn to tea[msnsmile] All free on green days[msnwink]

LiesaAnna
16-03-2006, 15:45
sounds nice Julie, but i cant stand quorn[sick]
just been shopping and brought lots of fruit, and mustnt forget got my lovely fresh lemons but did nearly forget them, i really like the hot water and lemon!! sorry have given in to a hot choc drink, be good to yourself[:I] was goodish yesterday but had a couple of mouthfulls of pasta and napoletana sauce, had some weetabix with semi skimmed milk, and no picking went on last night at all!! had oatso simple again this morning, sorry Julie, went and bought the fruit muesli one this morning, cant help myself, but everything else is cut out! so allowing one lovely brekkie for me, just nibbled on an apple, got wholemeal bread, the bakers gold, so a nice chicken salad with low fat mayo for lunch, quite looking forward to that!
have a good day all xxx

16-03-2006, 17:12
Sounds much better Liesa well-done!

Trying Quorn sauasges and sweet potato wedges for tea - Mizzy are the Quorn sausages free or 1 syn each?

Hi Ladies (and Macka in his absence!)
Thought I'd pop in to say hello and confirm I'm still in the land of the living and still slimming(or "maintaining"!!!!)[msneek]

I'm incredibly busy at the moment, working 7 day weeks until the 7th April. We have a strict deadline to meet, but it's all worth it because..we go to Florida on the 9th April!!!!
(Although I have Sun afternoon off this week to go to early Mother's Day lunch as certain family members can't make it next Sun)
I have very little online time right now, but do sometimes pop in for a flying visit around this time and sometimes have a quick glance in the evening to see how everyone is doing. I'm finding it hard to keep up with the children/mum/household chores etc!!! I have piles of completed ironing everywhere to put away. Kid's school letters not replied to. Bills to pay.I could go on and on.....I'm even missing my youngest's concert this afternoon and she's singing in it.
What a mess!!!

The one thing I am being sucessful with is slimming-I've hit my target "properly" now-not surprising as I'm non stop all day!

You all seem to be doing great-there's so much motivation out there. I'd love to post some more but for now this is all I can manage. I'm hitting the treadmill now before work[msneek]

LiesaAnna
17-03-2006, 11:36
well done Carole, sounds like your right on track!!!!

mizzy
17-03-2006, 13:11
Good Morning Everyone

well i feel a lot better after an early night

Carole can i say a big congratulations on reaching your target[clap][clap][clap] and also wish you lots of luck with maintaining your loss

Liesa sounds like you are more focused now, was it a long time ago that you tried quorn sausages Liesa? because they have changed a lot over the last few years, it might be worth giving them another bash, i would recommend the bramley apple ones

Julie what did you think of your pork and leek style ones?

i think i'm going to go "red" today, might have an omelette for lunch and some gammon for tea, will have to go and check out the freezer to see if anything jumps out at me[msnwink]

have a good day everyone

Mizzy

A very good morning to everyone...including Macka, who should be still tucked up in bed in Florida!

Well done Carole...thats great news.[clap][clap]

Well busy day for me today and its my "Hen Party" tonight[msneek][msneek] so I may eat a little more today to make sure my tummy is full![msnoo][msnoo]

hi all
for lunch i had chicken sandwich with salad and low fat mayo, very yummy, had 1 banana and 1 apple, feeling very good, been out to the town, got leg ache tho, thought i'd relax some this afternoon, but going to finish the decorating at Russells flat, and then to do dads bathroom this evening,
mizzy i tried the quorn sausages about 18 months ago i think, i will survive without them, but may try them again one day, got some nice linconshire sausages for saturday dinner,
going for chicken chasseur tonight, not sure if we like it, no not from scratch from a tin of homepride cookin sauce[msnwink]
only a small portion tho!

fiona
17-03-2006, 18:42
!!Sharon you have a wonderful time tonight, when shall we see you surfacing on the forum??[msnwink]

Liesa I don't think you are eating enough - you don't need small portions of things except fatty foods! Eat tons of pasta / potatoes / rice with meat / fish / veggies etc.

Mine so far - banana and black EG tea with lemon before I took the dogs out (OMG talk about mega brass monkeys weather, wind went straight through my jeans, my fur hat, scarf & gloves, I got in the car with a red mark on the bottom half of my face, chin & neck from it:(!!

Followed by porridge (golly I needed something to warm up with by then) and hot water with lemon, eating jacket pot, beans and cheese in between typing!

Supper will either be salmon steaks stir fried with rice & ginger or tuna done somehow (us convent gals stick to our fish on friday you know!)

mizzy
17-03-2006, 19:21
Have a great hen night party Sharon and dont do anything we wouldn't do hey[msnwink][msnembarrased]

toast and ginger jam
baked potato with baked beans and salad
yoghurt,strawberries
quorn and vegetable curry with rice
2 ameretti biscotti and a bag of cadburys mini honeycomb bites[angel]

Mizzy

LiesaAnna
18-03-2006, 03:16
well i wasnt feeling blue, so no excuse, went to visit Russ earlier and he got the biscuit barrel out and i ate to many ginger nuts![msncry] but been good, had chicken chasseur earlier with a little mashed potato, and garden peas, cant say i enjoyed that, then was "naughty" again! finished for the evening doing dads tiling and he got Steve and i a choc chip with strawberry jam muffin!![msncry] God i am so weak!!!![msncry][msncry][msncry][msncry]
but that is all i have done "wrong" feel good!! feeling positive!! will have them as a weekly treat!

fiona
18-03-2006, 03:31
Liesa you can have a daily treat you know - as soon as you (ie we) put ourselves in the mindset that we must deprive ourselves to we are setting ourselves up to fail.

We had mushroom & pea risotto for supper, with a couple of glasses of cava and half a bar of the new galaxy choc with our cup of tea afterwards! Plenty of fruit today too and glasses of water. Going to work my syns out but have had virtually none most of the week so that is my lot for the week[msnsmile2],

LiesaAnna
18-03-2006, 04:07
Thank you Fiona, wont beat myself up then![msnwink]

18-03-2006, 14:42
Morning all!!! DH got the children up and gave them a lovely breakfast of cheesey eggs on toast while I had a lovely lie in till 10am, that's an extra 4 1/2+ hours for me as I am normally up at 5 - 5.30[msnsmile2] Bliss!!!

I was tempted to jump on the scales but decided not too so just stood in front of a full length mirror and I can really see when the weight has come off so far, and it seems to be coming off all the right places too which is very encouraging[sporty][sporty]

Got a few stiff muscles from the extra outside power walks too, I love that feeling as I know I have worked hard[sporty][sporty][sporty]

Anyway today will be a green day, may do a selection of starters from my little green book and some yogurt miny raita dip tonight[msnwink]

Mizzy send those blues away along with that biscuit box!!![msnwink] Hope you feel better after a long sleep[grouphug]

Liesa you are doing much better, try to only have 'planned' treats that way you can build them in and won't go over board[msnwink]

Will post food diary tonight, keep up the good work over the weekend everyone!!!![clap][clap]

mizzy
18-03-2006, 17:31
Hi Everyone

Julie, isn't it lovely when people start to notice? and if you stay off those scales until tues you will have a lovely surpise, i know how tempting it is to jump on

i am fine about the food still on the right track and everything

it's the bloomin seizures that are getting me down, i just start thinking that my meds are at the right level and bang here comes another one[msnmad] that's why i've been so tired[msnsad]

i am having another green day today so far i have had
usual toast and jam
pear
tomato and herb pasta with peppers, mushrooms, onions, courgette and quorn pieces

i have sent dh off with a list to do the big shop and he will get in the weeks food, he has been warned no treats unless they are the non edible type[msnwink]

Fiona which new galaxy choc was that then? you haven't succummed to the "pleasures bar" again have you?[msntongue][msnwink]

fiona
18-03-2006, 23:26
Well done Jean, we could all do with something like that, or perhaps on second thoughts a litter of pups to look after 24/7 might not be the idea solution!

Mizzy of course it was that! However, you can be proud of me today managing to walk straight past the choc stand in the supermarket and only buying veg (and wine & fags for DH but we won't go into that!).

Sharon G
18-03-2006, 23:50
Well done Jean[clap][clap]

Mizzy Hope you are better soon[grouphug][grouphug]

...Well, what a great night, but I am suffering for it today[msneek][msneek] Thinks too many spritzers[beer][beer]

...dehydrated today, so drank at least 3 litres of water!
Not enough food so shall treat myself tomorrow instead. We are taking Pauls Grandma (she's the ripe old age of 92)out for Sunday Dinner to celebrate her birthday[clap][clap]

Have a lovely Saturday night everyone

19-03-2006, 01:06

Hope you had a great night Sharon.[beer]

Had a very good day diet wise, been so busy. My daughters are both performing in a show tomorrow so I've had lots of sorting out and running around to do. It will be even worse tomorrow, I have foolishly volunteered to be a chaperone for the first performance. I will then enjoy the later show with all my family.

Sally D
19-03-2006, 03:07

Sounds like you had a good evening Sharon[beer]

Well done Genie[clap]

I have now got a good reason to get rid of this weight, worked last year, I am now searching for flights as we are going again, not sure when yet, but I don't care as along as I have something booked[clap]

This is what I have eaten today, your thoughts please -

Breakfast was a bowl of fitness with semi skimmed milk.
Lunch was a bacon sandwich.
Dinner was chicken salad(lettuce, cue, toms, onions and peppers)
and after I had fresh fruit salad(grapes, apples, pears, kiwi, strawberries, pineapple and banana)
Just had highlights choc drink.

LiesaAnna
19-03-2006, 13:10

Well done all of you!!!! You are great at keeping the motivation up!!!!

As you know I started on my diet (lipotrim) last Monday, I found that the Shakes were too much for me and I could not manage 3 a day, so went back to see the pharmacist and they have put me on the maintenance programme which is 2 shakes or a bar a day and a main meal, I am finding this great no hunger during the day at all. Anyway! I had my first weigh in this morning and have lost 7lbs !!!!!!!![clap][clap][clap]:D

19-03-2006, 19:37
Well-done Tricia[clap][clap][clap][clap]

19-03-2006, 20:34
Crumbs well done Tricia, keep it up.

2 sausages in French stick for lunch, got outvoted on the meal as it was sunny and YD insisted in DH christening the BBQ for this year! Pasta for supper, but drinking lots of water. About to take the hounds out again, and then off to the gym[angel]!

LiesaAnna
19-03-2006, 21:48
absolutely brilliant Tricia!!! well done, i know what this means to you!! we wont recognise you when we come down in a few weeks!!

20-03-2006, 00:15
Evening all!!!

Food diary red day today.........

Skinny latte

1 extra low fat sausage, 2 medalions of bacon (no fat), 2 toms and 2 eggs all made into a dry fried omelette

No lunch as I was still full from a late breakfast so just a skinny latte

Roast chicken with green beans, 3 tiny dry roasted pots and small amount of very weak gravy and a teaspoon of cranberry sauce

2 litres of water and 1 diet coke with lots of ice and lemon[msnwink]

Got a variety of fruit to choose from for later[msnwink]

I feel like I have eaten too much today but everything is within the rules of SW, just hope I lose on Tuesday[msnscared]

Have started to notice some real health improvements too, my skin, hair and nails are better, I have much more energy and sparkle if you know what I mean. I have had a problem with a thumb nail for years, sort of a fungus growth under the nail (nobody noticed as my nails are always polished) which caused the nail to separate from the nailbed, I have tried all sorts to get rid of it, even went to the GP and tried some medication but nothing worked, and it has started to reduce all by itself and I really feel its because I am eating so much fresh fruit and veg[msnsmile]

20-03-2006, 09:59
Morning all!!!

Mizzy hope you are OK? Good luck with weigh in tonight!

Paula, you weigh in on Monday too don't know? Good luck too! Sounds like you burnt some calories yesterday[msnwink]

Sharon you will be fine this week and your dress will be fine I am sure too[msnwink]

Hello everyone, feels like I haven't been on here for ages!
Busy weekend, St Patricks Day night out, then the weekend.

I didn't lose this week, but didn't put on either, so stayed the same. I'm happy with that as I had a big meal out Weds and also a few Voddies on Friday night! Plus it seems to be time for me to put on again now usually.

So here's hoping for a loss next week. Funnily enough I think I feel better, the scales tell me one thing, but my jeans tell me differently. Oh well! Weird!

Sharon when is the big day, I was thinking of you today, must be very soon!

LiesaAnna
20-03-2006, 14:55

just had nice cup of hot water and lemon, most pleasant!!

off to a good start and so much energy!! already done the cleaning downstairs!! and stripped the beds!! and cleaned the cooker!! am raring to go!!

weigh in wednesday, physio tomorrow!! had accupuncture last week, felt a million dollars for a while!! hoping for a good weight loss on wednesday, but wont be too disheartened if not, as i can feel it again in clothes!

I am back too been all sorts of things happening mainly the birth of my first Grandchild a little girl Lauren so have been to Bristol visiting .Just got off the treadmill and did the 5 k I need for the Race for Life in May to under 35 mins so I am pleased as that was my target for the race so will have to revise that.
Been eating well but had the dreaded womans week to contend with with always plays havoc a bit so need to get right back on track

Twiglet

The run sounds fantastic, well done, and congratulations on your first Grandchild, that's a celebration for sure!

Leisa its great when you feel all energised, it really does add more bounce in your step, its great how a few pounds can make you feel so much lighter and fitter! You are doing so well!

Sharon you must be soooooo excited. Its truly the best day of your life, you feel like all your birthdays and christmasses have come at once, its like being a fairy princess for the day. You will feel like you are a celebrity! Exciting times!

Well ladies I am sooooooooooo pleased with myself. I have lost 3lbs. I think when you have a good loss it gives you the motivation to carry on. For me personally if I've been really good, then no loss I start to feel a little disheartened.

Good luck this evening Mizzy.

I had weetabix this morning, plenty of fruit and water and I am planning on a roast for tea as I feel I missed out yesterday. It's funny my girls love roast dinner and will eat all the veg no problems.

LiesaAnna
20-03-2006, 17:37
well done Paula!!! thats great!!!

lunch had, jacket potato with nat cottage cheese, 2 slices of wholemeal brown bread, and a manderin muller lite yog

20-03-2006, 21:57
Hi

Congratulations Paula thats a fantastic loss[clap][clap][clap]

well i've just got back from class and i've stayed the same[msnsad]
i'm a bit gutted because i have had a really good week, but i am now even more determined to have a decent loss next week[msnsmile2] or else i'll be very very[msnmad]

i know what i have to do, i need to build in more exercise and vary my food a little so this is me for the foreseable future[sporty][sporty][sporty]

i am also going to give those 0% fat activia bio yoghurts a go because i seem to be very bloated all the time, has anybody tried these?

Mizzy

20-03-2006, 22:13
Mizzy, never mind, you have also been under the weather for a few days too so staying the same is better than a gain[grouphug]

I eat the Natural low fat activia bio yoghurts (71 cals a tub) everyday, I use them in dressings and pour them over fruit, they are yummy and my IBS has settled down again too[msnsmile2]

Increasing the walking is bound to help too so here's to a good loss next week[clap]

mizzy
20-03-2006, 22:29
Thanks Julie

i have had a check in the food directory and the 0% fat ones in natural or strawberry are a free food and the cherry and peach ones are 1/2 syn each so i will swap my daily mullerlight for one of these

is eating one a day enough to make a difference?

Difficult to describe so here is the offical line...........

Causes, Symptoms and Treatment for Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common disorder of the intestines that leads to crampy pain, gassiness, bloating, and changes in bowel habits. Some people with IBS have constipation (difficult or infrequent bowel movements); others have diarrhea (frequent loose stools, often with an urgent need to move the bowels); and some people experience both. Sometimes the person with IBS has a crampy urge to move the bowels but cannot do so.

The cause of IBS is not known, and as yet there is no cure. Doctors call it a functional disorder because there is no sign of disease when the colon is examined. IBS causes a great deal of discomfort and distress, but it does not cause permanent harm to the intestines and does not lead to intestinal bleeding of the bowel or to a serious disease such as cancer. Often IBS is just a mild annoyance, but for some people it can be disabling. They may be unable to go to social events, to go out to a job, or to travel even short distances. Most people with IBS, however, are able to control their symptoms through medications prescribed by their physicians, diet, and stress management.

When I get an attack it normally lasts for 24hrs, best cure for me is to lie on my tummy, wear loose clothing and drink hot water, if I get it on a flight or when traveling its a nightmare[msneek]

LiesaAnna
21-03-2006, 03:00
i was treated for IBS for some years ago, then when i had problems with heartburn and certain drugs made it worse, i went for an endoscopy, camera down the throat, i had to sign a form agreeing for them to test for Helicobacter pylori which proved positive, so i then had a course of 3 types of strong antibiotics for 2 weeks, then hey presto, no more anything with my stomach other then the gallstones!!

coincidence ???? not sure, but i had IBS so badly for ages, had to map my routes to go out with a toilet stop somewhere, it was awful!!!

no more tho

21-03-2006, 09:55
Its horrible I have had it since I was 14 and its often caused by stress/irregular eating/ certain foods etc, I get I much less these days but used to get it a lot when I was flying, I had a camera up the bottom when I was diagnosed. I tried the meds for a while but they did nothing and don't like taking them if they don't work so do without now[msnscared]

Anyway, not looking forward to weigh in as I don't feel like I have lost anything this week but will let you all know later[msnwink]

Have a good day all!!!!

Good Morning Everyone

look at me up nice and early to exercise[msnwink]

Julie good luck for the weigh in,i'm sure it will al be ok
i have picked up an idea that may work as another measure for your success Julie , like Twiglet said sometimes the clothes are looser but the weight is the same[msneek]

sometimes we dont measure our bodies because the numbers on the tape are too scary and off putting, or we don't want to become all number obsessed!!, so here's an alternative

using a long piece of string measure yourself and mark the measurements with coloured felt pens this way you can visually see how your body is changing without worrying about the numbers

have a good day everyone[angel]

Morning all, just off out with the hounds after my banana and black tea!

We measured ourselves with what we called traffic lights - red, yellow green string for bust, wasit & hips and it is interesting to see what you have lost over the time, so even if the weight loss is not huge, it is encouraging to see the difference in those inches!

Have a good day everyone, weigh in for me today as well - this evening, so let's hope for some losses for everyone!

Sharon G
21-03-2006, 14:12
Morning everyone,

Fingers crossed for you too Fiona[msnwink] Good luck

Well its true about the inch loss more than the weight loss !
The outfit I wore last Friday was too big for me and I only bought it about 6 weeks ago. I couldn't believe the difference.

Like Julie, people have mentioned how nice and slim I'm looking now, so that is a real good tonic[msnsmile2] It's now just keeping it off!
...and it won't be easy in Florida!!![msnwink][msnwink]

Going to check everything again and going to do even MORE exercise[sporty][sporty][sporty] this week - I will not give up as this is now a way of life and I like it I just want to lose 2lbs a week, not a big fat ZERO!!!!!!!!!!

What's even more upsetting is the Virgin Jumbo has just flown over as I type[msnmad][msnmad]

Liesa it's really infuriating to STAY THE SAME especially when you have put the work in[msnmad]

i'm sure Julie like me sat in a class where people confessed to eating pizza chips wine and the rest and they all still lost weight[msnmad] thats why it's even worse when you are giving it your all and it doesn't show on those bl**dy scales

i'm glad you enjoyed your lunch and feel a little bit better Julie[grouphug]

I think some weeks it goes on, others it stays the same and then joy of joys it comes off, just got to keep slogging away at it gals.

I have tried a policy of eating more this week, so will see if this has had any effect, no signs of looser clothing though, so perhaps needs a couple of weeks to try out.

My knee is starting to click again (had not done so for years) which suggests to me that my gym workout out of cycling, Rotex and more boring cycling is not doing the old knee any good whatsoever, even if it is slimming my thighs down! Must get to a new class which is on either tomorrow or Thurs - a cross between yoga and pilates and I think is more the way to go. Also perhaps back swimming again, got to book in for second leg wax in 18 months - there are SOME advantages to chemo after all[msnwink]!! Was absolutely brass monkeys again walking the hounds, even though I had added extra layers and walked round PDQ[msnmad]. Had enough of this now, it is no joke[V] (am soooooo looking forward to the 6pm walk)

21-03-2006, 20:16
Fiona, I know what you mean this cold weather is really getting to me too. [msnsad]

DH bought me some spa vouchers for my birthday and I am dying to have a St Tropez but want to wait until we have enough sunshine to show it off, its freezing here again[msneek]

Liesa you had a CREAM EGG!!!!!! God I would put on a lb if I so much as looked at one let alone eat one[msneek] CREAM CAKE its years since I had one of those and no chocs have passed my lips in over 5 weeks and I still stay the same!!![msnmad]

Good luck Fiona I really hope you have lost[msnsmile]

sorry Mizzy didnt mean to sound heartless, i know how hard you and Julie especially have put in with Slimming World, am by no means belittling you!, i have been there many times and i believe thats why i gave up slimming classes, after so much effort at times and the patience of a saint, i would stay the same or put on!
my cream egg Julie was lovely, i really made it last and will have no more choc now till next week! that was my treat for the week, and i have been so very very good, just hope it shows tomorrow at my weigh in!

Oh yes, I hope a size smaller we fly out on the 18th April so 4 weeks today I will be there!! I can't wait to visit all my old haunts[clap][clap] I know NY better than I know London (and I lived near there for 30+ years!!) Its been a few years since my last trip so I am really looking forward to it. [msnsmile2]

It will be twinged with sadness though as on my last visit I went to the top of the World Trade Center, its something I did on many trips so many times and was one of my favourite places, I have so many photos taken from the top of the Towers, so I will be paying a vist to Ground Zero to say a little prayer too.

[grouphug] for you Fiona [grouphug] i've tried the mix to max and it's really good [msnsmile2]

Oooh can someone scan that 10 meal plan and send me a copy!!!!! (I can supply my email address![msnwink])

Food Diary

Porridge
Wholemeal Roll stuffed to the rafters with just salad
Tuna, peppers, & pasta bake, with sprinkle of cheese

Snacks Skinny Cap, Low Cal Biscuit, Yoghurt later!

Now girls. This staying the same malarky! I have to say that I went to the shopping centre to pick up my daughter. Whilst waiting I ended up disappearing into Jeans West, as all the winter gear is arriving in. They had fabulous skinny knits in, so decided I might splash out and buy myself something for a change (why do the kids get all the good stuff). Anyway there was this black jumper with silver threads around the neck and sleeve, very chic, and I decided I would try one on. Grabbed a large and went into the change room, it was swimming on me! The assistant went and got me a medium. She also got me some jeans to try, and I was a size smaller! So please don't despair about what the scales are telling us, when we have a bad week, I think we should go and let the clothes do the talking! I walked out with a spring in my step, and stuck my tongue out to the scales. It motivated me a bit more for the week, I won't lose sight of my goal!

so much positivity going on in here today!!!

i am more determined now, will NOT put it BACK ON AGAIN!!!
was my desire to get into 16stones, i did it then put it back on, but in all fairness, its the stoooooooooopid medications i took for my leg that doesnt help! "rapid weight gain" is one of the main side effects!

lets all have a great week!!

22-03-2006, 18:06
Mega positive here!!!

Just got through a day and a half worths of work in my office[clap][clap][clap]

Well done Liesa that is fantastic![clap] Now you know you can do it, and a nice big weight loss always is an incentive to keep going.

Theresa well done on the shopping - a little incentive always works, and it is true that it doesn't always show up as a weight loss but you can tell if the togs start getting looser!

Scanning - hhmmmm - I know nothing! ED is the one to do this, not sure if she is home tonight, otherwise will get typing in word and then just copy and paste!

LiesaAnna

N'er mind Fiona and Sally, it really is the week for no losses isn't it!

Except Leisa of course, that's amazing. You must have been thrilled and delighted. No wonder you feel so energetic this week, imagine holding 6.5 lbs and try doing the housework at the same time, you would feel tired! Great news, here's to another great week for you next week [clap]

Julie I forgot to say that's exciting news going to NY. [clap]

Mizzy that's terrified your son is asking to go out and do that after school. I bet you were rushing around getting his gear, with a great big smile on your face. That's great, I am so happy for you. [msnsmile]

Oh and Fiona please don't worry about typing it all up, it was just if someone was able to scan or photocopy it to me, please don't go typing it, I can use online menus and mix and match. I have to start getting used to making up my own meal plans now, and not rely on ready made ones. That's the next big step for me!

it's great that you have started to work out your own food menus you'll now have a lot more choice

i am sat here sipping water and i may have a banana later depends on how early i get myself to bed

Everyone is sooooo positive on here at the moment which is great.
Julie I am very jealous about your trip to New York, I haven't been myself yet but it's on my list to do along with Las Vegas and San Fransisco.

mizzy
23-03-2006, 01:35
glad you feel a little bit better Paula[grouphug]

i was looking for a sanfransisco/los angeles and las vegas multicity holiday for my parents, 10 days in total for £469 and they turned it down because mum is nervous of visiting las vegas[msneek]

so now they are going to pay over £500 for the flight and 7 days hotel only to sanfransisco, mad or what

i am jealous of Julie too,[msnwink][msnsmile2]
come easter i'll be surrounded by chocolate because the little monsters get far too many eggs bought for them[msnscared]

My Mum and Dad have done a few tours in the States, the West Coast one took in Las Vegas, Solvang and San Franscisco, I think it may have taken in LA too. The other one they went on was to Memphis, they went to Graceland and New Orleans, the Mardi Gras was on when they were there.

As for New York I would love to go, not too sure if I'd go up The Empire State Building though.[msneek] After watching the new King Kong film I felt really ill when it shown the clips from the top of ESB, my legs go like jelly just thinking of it.

fiona
23-03-2006, 03:21
ESB is wonderful Paula, and I have terrified of heights - had the heebie jeebies going up the Eiffel Tower but this was fine.

Cannot get my mother onto a plane - so no visiting her daughter's villa in Florida then:(.

ED is home tomorrow so will see if she can organise something on the scanning front, YD has the sleeping sickness bug that is around and disappears to bed VERY early at the mo, and goes into college looking like death warmed up (no doubt passing bug on that she caught from one of the others this week!).

23-03-2006, 09:50
Morning ladies!

Paula, the Empire State Building is fantastic, but not as good as the Twin Towers was[msnsad] I have been up many times and even took my Mum when she came on a Concorde trip with me, and I will be taking the children on this next trip as my YD has not been. Some of my other favs are the Chrysler Building, The Trump Tower, Tiffanys, Central Park Zoo, The Soda Fountain in Macys etc the list is endless[msnwink]

Back to eating I am still sticking to it 100% and really hope for a good loss next Tuesday[clap]

Have a good day all!!!

LiesaAnna
23-03-2006, 11:31

Good Morning

here i am and i'm 110% focused

i'm off to the supermarket too Liesa, going to get some nice fish for tea

i really dont eat enough fish, the only fish i really like is from the fish shop[msneek] with chips and s c r a p s[msnembarrased]

i can have fish from the fish shop as a free food ,but there's a big rule with this, you have to take the batter off and just eat the fish[msnsad]

one member in our class had been having lots of fish from the fish shop and in one week she put on 4lbs[msneek]
the consultant couldn't figure out why because her food diary looked fantastic but after a little quizzing the member said "yes i took the batter off"
the consultant still confused said what did you do with the batter?
and this member said she ate it but she took it off the fish first[msneek][msnembarrased][msnsmile2]

have a good day everyone

Mizzy , why did i so know that bit was coming??? i must admit dont eat take aways very often, if i do its normally subway or brewers fayre, and thats a WW light lunch
but i did have sausage in batter just before i started my new diet!, and the greasey oil ran out onto my top from the batter! wont be eating that again, cant tell you the last time i ate anything in batter! when i had fish and chips some months back i took the batter off the fish

feeling good!!!
beautiful spring like day today, just heard my neighbours, (florida buffs) have just had their first grandaughter born last night, the same day they had their beloved old cat put to sleep, very sick!

Eating batter!! On a par with eating pastry, absolute no-no unless eating in teeny weeny portions - which personally I don't do, so better to avoid altogether!

Banana & tea for breakfast, and hooray at long last slightly warmer when out with the hounds[clap].

Just going to menu plan for the next week and then hit Waitrose - and then the gym.

I have to say I could not eat batter[sick][sick][sick]if you paid me[sick][sick][sick] Not keen on savoury pastry either[sick][sick][sick]

I am having a very busy few days so just did an extra 30 mins on the treadmill doing intervals and eating the same lunch as yesterday chicken tikka pieces and yogurt mint dressing[msnsmile]

Red days are not very good when training as you need the complex carbs from a green day[msnscared]

Not sure about my meal tonight need to get to Sainsburys[msnwink]

you may be better with the mix to max or success express, that way you'll get the extra carbs that you need

not sure about the figs they look like you peel them[msnscared] i am going to cut one in half and investigate!! i may get dh to try one first

i bought them to help keep me regular and they have the added bonus of being a speed food[msneek]

i ashamed to say that i have reached the grand old age of 37 and have never tried fresh figs, the only fig i've ever had is in a fig roll biscuit[msnembarrased]

i have just had a ham and egg salad for lunch and i'm planning on a chicken teryaki stir fry at tea time

catch you all later Mizzy[angel]

23-03-2006, 18:56
thanks for the info on the figs Liesa

now for anyone else brave enough to admit that they wouldn't know one end of a fig from another here's what i did

i sliced the fig in half length ways and it's a little like a kiwi you need to remove the outer layer so i peeled it back and then got darling super brave husband to try his half first[msnscared] i waited for an age and then he pronounced it to be delicious [msnsmile2]

he had a good laugh at how scared i was, i took a tiny bite and it tasted lovely[clap]

so i peeled the other 3 and i had another one straight away and have saved the other 2 for suppertime[msnsmile2]

now who would have thought i'd be afraid of a fig[msnembarrased]

now i am really glad i gave it a go and will buy them again

Well never got to Waitrose all the gym, went shopping with ED to buy things for our new showroom at work, so hit Matalan & T K Maxx at Slough. Got a ton of stuff for each of the bays so £75 well spent!

On the way back, slight detour into M&S Food and I was soooo good, ignored all the wafting smells of cakes and bread, brought a ton of fruit, fish & chicken, salad etc. + pasta - theirs is the only dried pasta that does not bring on my IBS - v strange!

Am about ¾ of the way through typing up the 10 diet peeps, made me so hungry this am had to go off and have my lunch! Am trying a recipe from elsewhere in the mag for supper, chicken in a herby bake with potato wedges and salad - and then some of that fruit! Very hungry so will be off soon to start cooking.

A friend just sent me this and its so funny thought I'd share it with you..........

A guy sitting at an airport bar in Atlanta noticed a beautiful woman
sitting next to him. He thought to himself, "Wow, she's so gorgeous she
must be a flight attendant. But which airline does she work for?"

Hoping to pick her up, he leaned towards her and uttered the Delta
slogan: "Love to fly and it shows?" She gave him a blank, confused stare
and he immediately thought to himself, "Ooh s**t, she doesn't work for
Delta".

A moment later, another slogan popped into his head. He leaned towards
her again, "Something special in the air?" She gave him the same
confused look. He mentally kicked himself, and scratched American
Airlines off the list.

Next he tried the United slogan: "I would really love to fly your
friendly skies?"

This time the woman turned on him "Look, what the f**k do you want?"

The man smiled, then slumped back in his chair, and said...

"Ahhh, British Airways!"

Not true of course[msnwink]

Hello, just having a quick lunch, its all rush rush this week[msnscared]

Green day so just made a veg and herb omelette with toms over the top[msnwink]

Little low calorie tip, halve some cherry toms onto a microwaveable bowl and blast them in the micro for 2 mins so they go soft, season them and pour over foods needing a sauce like my tuna steak or my omelette, makes your food very tasty[msnwink] Virtually no cals[msnwink]

Going to make a potato curry later[msnsmile2]

Happy Friday all!!!

LiesaAnna

Am almost finished typing up the Mix2Max 10 day diet so will post that on here tonight.

Liesa, allow yourself 1 treat a day and then you will not feel you are depriving yourself - of course it can't be a whacking great mars bar or something of that ilk! I don't think you are eating enough of the better foods to make you feel full, therefore you are getting tired and that makes you vulnerable to wanting chocolate or something sweet. You sound like me before I had my hysterectomy, more on monthlies than off[msnmad], very tired and desperate for a lift. A good diet can help this, along with a multi-vitamin. Bananas v good fruit wise, give you a lift - do you like berries, again easy to eat.

You know you can do it - you've just got to tell your tastebuds the right messages from your brain!

Last night I chopped up an orange to put in the salad with our herby chicken (delicious btw and will post the recipe) and lots of comments from the family how good it was, and please do it again.

Today I have had slice of small brown loaf with cottage cheese, chives & baby tomatoes for brekkies, yes I know it's strange I was all up for porridge and when I came to make it that's what I fancied.

Lunch has been prawns in 1 teaspoon v low fat mayo & lemon juice on 2 Ryvita, and huge plate of salad, finished off the raspberries and then ate a small box of fresh fruit from M&S (their 2 for £5 ones) with tons of pineapple in. Being v lazy as would be cheaper to buy pineapple and chop up, which is what I will do at the weekend!

Supper will be fish baked in oven, pots sliced and baked & large salad & beans.

Herb, citrus & chilli chicken
0 Syns Orignal 1½ Syns Green - ad 6 syns if not using the chicken as a healthy extra

Serves 4
1 lemon
½ orange
2tsp crushed dried chilli
1 tsp dried mixed herbs (I used fresh as I have them in pots)
4 chicken breasts
Fry light
4 x 8oz/227g potato

1. Preheat oven to 200C / 400 F / Gas Mark 6.
Grate the zest of the lemon and orange and mix with the crushed dried chilli and mixed herbs. Season with salt.

2. Using a sharp knife make 3-4 slashes in each chicken breast and place on a baking tray. Spray with Fry Light and rub the zest mixture onto the chicken. Spray with Fry Light and rub the zest mixture onto the chicken. Spray again with Fry Light and bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.

3. At the same time, cut the potatoes into wedges (leaving the skin on) and cook in boiling water for 5-10 mins before placing on a baking tray sprayed with Fry Light. bake in the oven with the chicken until just starting to crisp at the edges. Serve the chicken and wedges together with a large mixed salad.

I cooked the potatoes before and put them in with the chicken. They were still not ready so had to cook for an extra 10 mins. Note to self, cut smaller chunks!

Liesa its not going to hurt the nurse but it will hurt your weight loss. Like Fiona says one SMALL treat a day, but why not make treats more healthy like Mizzy says try some unusal fruits, or like me rather than have an artfically flavoured Muller Lite why not have fresh fruits with low fat natural yogurt poured over the top, that way its a whole lot more filling and healthy[msnwink]

Have spent days looking for flights, now booked and then days ploughing through all the villas, also now booked[msnsmile2].
Haven't had time to come on here, but back now.

Have been good with my eating until today[msneek], the boss popped to the bakers and got us all a cake, thats the trouble our office is above the bakers, I had a lovely chelsea bun[msntongue].

Hannah made a lovely chicken stir fry tonight, yes she is still grounded but being very helpful.

Now I have a holiday booked I am determined to get rid of the extra weight.

Have a good weekend.

25-03-2006, 00:15
Liesa that's my point DON'T have Muller lite or any other DIET yogurts have 100% NATURAL low fat yogurt (no flavourings, sweetners, additives etc) like the activa or orgainic ones then pour over some fresh melon, peach, plum, grapes etc then you have a 100% natural healthy low fat treat[msnwink]

Sally great news now you can focus and lose those final lbs[clap][clap][clap]

My food diary for today is....

Porridge
Skinny latte
Small bag of grapes and apple and then a small bag of ready to eat carrots whilst out shopping as I was really hungry, got them from the Boots food to go counter[msnwink][angel]
Herb and veg omelette with cherry tomatoes
3 sweet plums
Skinny latte
Potato curry
2 litres of water

Extra skinny latte as I was just sooooo hungry today, probably from extra training[sporty] 4 1/2 syns[msnwink]

Got plenty of fruit and yogurt if I need a snack later[angel]

Haven't seemed to be able to get on last few days. Its school holidays here, again. They only went back six weeks ago after long summer holidays, and broke up again because of the Commonwealth Games. So the kids have taken over the computer and I am exhausted. So been caught up

Fiona you are great to be typing up those 10 days menus, that's really good of you to do that! Can't wait!

I have been fairly good, except I had a few champagnes last night, at a friend's house! I didn't nibble or pick though, but it was a lovely balmy evening, we were out on the decking, everyone was having a few end of week drinks whilst the kids were playing, I couldn't resist. Its lovely autumn evenings at the moment, the colours are amazing.

Food diary for Today

Porridge
Bacon & Egg dry fried, with whole meal bread (healthy extra)
Stir Fry Beef & Veggies

Snacks: Low Fat Biscuits (2), Yoghurts, Strawberries.

for lunch i had, french stick, (small chunk) with cheese, small piece, and muller light yog, will use these ones up as i bought quite a few and no one else eats them, but did look at the ones you suggested Julie, and will put them on my shopping list,
so any other suggestions please post, i will do my new shopping list this week!
thanks all xx

25-03-2006, 22:26
Liesa just a comparison if you swap the cheese for chicken look how many calories and sat fat you save[msnwink]

Cheese, cheddar

Nutrition Facts
Amount per 2 oz

Calories:
228.7 kcal

Water 20.87 g
Carbohydrate* (1%) 0.73 g
Protein (26%) 14.14 g
Total Fat (72%) 18.82 g
Monounsaturated 5.33 g
Polyunsaturated 0.53 g
Saturated 11.98 g
Cholesterol 59.64 mg
Dietary Fibre 0 g
Alcohol (0%) 0 g

Chicken breast, oven-roasted, fat-free, sliced

Nutrition Facts
Amount per 1 serving 2 slices

Calories:
33.3 kcal

Water 32.22 g
Carbohydrate (11%) 0.91 g
Protein (85%) 7.05 g
Total Fat (4%) 0.16 g
Monounsaturated 0.05 g
Polyunsaturated 0.03 g
Saturated 0.05 g
Cholesterol 15.12 mg
Dietary Fibre 0 g
Alcohol (0%) 0 g

So just by having chicken in place of cheese you save almost 200 cals and 11.93g of satuarted fat[msnwink] Also check out the Cholesterol the chicken is so much lower than the cheese which is good for your arteries[msnwink]

Over time these changes really add up[msnwink]

Hi

seems like everyone is having a good weekend

Julie you've been so good i'm sure you'll lose this week, can i ask are you having your syns? and are you eating to satisfy your appetite?

Liesa you can have cheese but it is a very SMALL amount
at SW it is classed as an healthy extra A choice but the weight for the amount of cheese is 28g other A choices include milk 350 ml skimmed per day or 250 ml semi skimmed

you really need to cut out the white bread though Liesa why not try having a wholemeal roll or wholemeal pitta bread instead of the french stick, you will feel fuller for longer if you switch to wholmeal

Sharon have a great night out[msnsmile2]

here's my food diary for today "green"

0.1% fat actimel drink
usual toast and jam
roasted peppers filled with rice, beans, onions and garlic
activia yoghurt
quorn stir fry veg with noodles in teryaki sauce
banana
and i am going to have some mini honeycomb bites for later with a options cinnamon hot choc[msntongue]6 syns for them both but soooo worth it[msnwink]

P.S Liesa do you use butter or spead as well as the cheese[?]

LiesaAnna
26-03-2006, 02:18
i rarely eat sandwiches, but did buy wholemeal bread for the future, today was a one off i dont usually eat french stick as it hurts my gums! (lose a tooth for every child born, 6 children, - a few of my chewing teeth missing;))
cant tell you the latr time i ate cheese, cant say i enjoyed it tho, so will get chicken in future, have tuna tomorrow with wholemeal bread,
will do it!! i did use gold lowest fat spread today but again dont often have spread of any description, everything tastes so fatty!! not just saying it but i dont eat a lot of bread, cheese and spread at all!! not sure why i did today!
will do better this week have gained a lot of knowledge, thank you for all your guidence ladies!![grouphug]

Liesa you are doing really well, keep the motivation up, everyone is so keen to help you, because we all know how tough and hard it is. Once you get in the momentum though, and make the switches, finding alternatives for things you used to like, you find you start like the alternatives. Your tastebuds seem to alter. If I have some chocolate now, it takes soooo sweet, you only need a smidgen.

Mizzy asked me to post a photo, I managed to find one, and have popped it in Mug Shot thread. Its not the best photo, but it will do for now! [msnwink]

Ok peeps, here is the 10 day menu plant on Mix2Match.

Slim the Mix2Max way

o Go Green & Original at each meal. Instead of choosing Green or Original and sticking to your choice all day, pick a Green or Original meal and stick to your choice throughout that meal.
o Have 3 meals a day. For dessert and between-meals snacks fruit is the best choice when you Mix2Max.
o All foods are FREE, unless we give a serving size. So for example, where chicken and fish appear in an Original meal, or pasta and rice in a Green meal, you can eat as much as you like during that meal.
o Pick your Healthy Extra choices. Some of the meals in the menu given include Healthy Extras, they are marked with either *(a choice) or **(b choice). Each day, have 3 or 4 Healthy Extra choices – 2 a and 2 b – in total. Below are the allowances for milk (a popular a choice) and bread (popular b choice).
o Enjoy 5 – 15 Syns a day.

o These meals service 1 person, if you are cooking for a family, increase quantities and, if necessary, cooking time

How much is a Healthy Extra portion?
A serving of milk (A choice) is ONE of:
o 350ml skimmed milk
o 250ml semi-skimmed milk
o 175ml whole milk
o 250ml calcium-enriched Soya or rice milk

A serving of bread (B choice) is ONE of:

Been quiet today as had to go to work today, then visit my sister to wish her happy birthday for tomorrow and give her pressie (Calvin Klein handbag from Florida which she was thrilled with!), Waitrose shop (OMG all the town appeared to be in there, had to queue behind 12/13 people at fag counter to buy DH his cigars, and then queue behind 5 people to pay and I do the quick scan!), home to drop off shopping, quickly feed dogs and then off to my mother's so take round flowers and card as can't see her tomorrow. Got home after 7.00pm, luckily DH had cooked tomato pasta for us so only had to make the salad!

Down to Bournemouth to visit MIL, will try and be good at lunch but might be difficult! Perhaps just a banana for lunch to allow for what might be coming.

Have a good day everyone, hope all your little treasures remember you!

spent the afternoon with dad, he loves it with me and the children and grandchildren and great children go to him!! complete caos!!but he loves every moment! makes up for my sadness seeing him so happy!:(

Just got back from Bournemouth, had a lovely lunch - no you don't want to know what it was, let's just say NONE of it is on the diet sheet! Banana and orange for brekkies, and no supper for me to make up for - duck parfait with toasted brioche and red onion chutney, alcoholic sorbet, roast smoked beef, broccoli, beans & ports with jus, lemon tart, petit fours and black tea - got that bit right! Not huge portions but all v tasty.

Been pouring with rain all day or I would have nipped out with the hounds but will have to take them for extra long walks tomorrow to make up to both them and me for what I have eaten!

Flowers from ED and card from YD this am, so they did remember!

I think I have to keep saying this, but .... tomorrow is another day! Have a good one.

Hi

Julie you could have had some crumble, it's not too high in syns at 3.5 per 28g

i s c r a p e d most of the crumble off my portion and gave it to dh to eat[msnwink]
rhubarb is a super speed free food or it can be a healthy extra b choice when it is stewed, the same goes for apple

Fiona [msneek][msnsmile2]sounds like you had a really good day!!

Liesa we have similar problems when going to the cemetary too, my gran had in total 83 children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren so you can imagine the flowers!! now we plant bulbs ready for the spring and take potted flowering plants because there's always far too many flowers and not enough pots to put them in
i'm glad you found comfort in your dad though [grouphug]

Liesa sorry you had such a sad time yesterday, and Happy Mothers Day to everyone there. Ours isn't until May here, but luckily my sister text me to remind and I was able to catch my Mum.

Fiona a HUGE big thank you for posting that MixNMatch it must have taken an age! I will print it off and give it a whirl after this fortnight's plan is over.

My weigh in tonight. Like Mizzy, I better have lost a pound. I think 1 pound is the biggest loss I would have.

good luck Theresa with weigh in!!

Morning all! Evening Theresa!!!

Good luck with weigh ins today Mizzy and Theresa[msnwink]

Sharon - Oh its getting so close now, are you flying Virgin from Manchester I can't remember?
You will have a wonderful wedding and a glorious honeymoon and we all can't wait for the photos and trip reports, but lots of love, hugs and bestest of wishes now and for the future[grouphug]

Liesa, its times like this that having a menu planned really comes into its own, you will find that if you planned your meals for the day (knowing that it could be a bad day) and stuck with the plan you are less likely to go off the rails, comfort eating (for what ever reasons no matter how sad) can be avoided, this probably makes me sound harsh which I don't want to sound but for long term success we have to be strong[grouphug]

Just for the record there have been trials done on MacDonalds, and calorie for calorie compared with for example the same calories in a jacket pot and beans the jacket pot will sustain you (and do you far more good) for longer than the Macdonalds even though the two meals have the same amount of calories - a lot of processed foods heavily fortified with chemiclas like Macd's have many 'empty' calories[msnwink]

I warned my family not to buy anything to eat like chocs etc and declined any ideas about going out to eat as I knew it would be harder to stay on track and they all respected my wishes as they know how important my weight loss is to me so I got lots of lovely flowers etc instead[msnwink]

You have to decide how much you want to lose the weight and how far you are prepared to go to achieve it[msnwink]

So all that being said lets ALL have a wonderful week with lots of losses[clap][sporty][clap][sporty]

LiesaAnna
27-03-2006, 12:24
thanks Julie,
doesnt sound harsh at all,
like i have said before i do really want to lose weight, will take all tips and advise on board and this week will write yet another shopping list, will do more meal planning,
i hate macdonalds cant tell you the last time i had one, just felt that low yesterday i gave in, and to be very honest i didnt enjoy it all! yuk!
Russ is shift manager at Uncle Sams best burger bar in town (in my opinion) and have been known to have one of them in the past now and again, but not lately,
this isnt going to happen over night, so got to really get into this!
thanks for your help[grouphug]

Mizzy...thank you[grouphug]

I totally agree about the actimels!! All my family have them on a regular basis now and (hopefully) don't ail things like we used to!

Paul was forever getting coughs and colds with working outside all the time and also working long hours. He now feels better in himself and doesn't suffer with his tummy problems anymore![msnsmile2]

Well done Theresa, that's brill.

Sharon, have a wonderful wedding, we will all be thinking of you, and we do want to see pics! But we will understand if you don't post for a while!

Well done Julie about the baggy combats, here's to a weight loss (tonight - tomorrow??)

Mizzy keep going, bet you have a weight loss this week, I meant to buy some actimel again this week and didn't put it on my list - therefore not a hope in hell that I remember! Still suffering from memory loss which is driving me and the family up the wall!! Have just gone up a size in my handbag (got you all worried didn't it with the first few words!) so I can keep a notepad in there to write everything I have to do down in the hope it will make my memory improve. Back to crossword puzzles at this rate.

Liesa try and keep on the straight and narrow, lots of fruit and salad and veggies and you will feel much better for it - and you can eat tons of that!

Porridge this am, jacket pot, grated cheese & chopped red onion with baked beans for lunch, and tomato pasta with large salad for supper. Will be late home as have parents evening for YD (last one before they take their AS's) so won't be home before 7.30, so had to leave something DH could cook and have ready when we get back. Felt good when out with the hounds and power walked round - in my wellies, hair done a florida and frizzed up with the damp, but no point in worrying at the moment as every time I step outside it curls up. Goodness knows what it would look like without all the straightening stuff I put on it!! Made up some bulgar wheat for tomorrow's lunch, am going to have the taboulah from the mix2match menu. (Still trying to make amends for yesterday - having been instructed if DH was paying £32 a head he wanted me to eat it!!)

Good luck with the wedding Sharon - hope you have a fabulous day!! [beer][beer]

Bit disappointed at today's weigh-in - stayed the same[msncry] Only to be expected though I suppose, after celebrating my 50th birthday all week. It's just catching up on me now. Have to get back into the swing of things;
Here's a lovely recipe for Tomato & Lentil Soup from WW if anyone fancies giving it a try. It's really easy to make and it's only 1 point per serving; ( serves 4)

2 large onions diced,
Low fat cooking spray,
2 large tins tomatoes,
100g red split lentils,
900ml vegetable stock,
1 tbsp Coriander,
2 tbsp chopped parsley, salt & pepper

Cook the onions in the low fat spray for 3-4 mins
Add tins of tomatoes, lentils, stock and coriander.
Bring to the boil, cover & simmer for 25-30 mins
Blend to a puree
Season with S&P and sprinkle with Parsley to serve.

HOW EASY IS THAT!!!

You can use cinnamon instead of Coriander for a slightly different flavour if you prefer.

Enjoy!

Congratulations Theresa[clap][clap]

Sharon, have a wonderful day and tell us all about it when you get back. Wishing you all the happiness in the world[msnsmile2]

Had a lovely day yesterday, girls tried very hard, made me breakfast and I had a lucky dip with presents and cards (no chocs). I had books, Beverley Knight CD[clap] and lots of other bits.

Was also feeling sad, as it made me miss my mum more than ever. She has been gone 18 years, but I still think of her everyday.

Peter made a lovely dinner last night, steak and I'm sorry to say, chips, real chips as my girls call them, not oven ones.

Good luck to all who have weigh in today.

Does anyone know where Julieann has gone[msnsad]

Sally that's a good point where is Julieanne??

Fiona weigh for me is Tuesday mornings[msnwink]

Well what an active morning, my new washing machine is in and already on the 2nd load so I cleaned and tidied my utility room to do it justice, then did a marathon hoover round the down stairs which always take ages[msneek] then jumped on my treadmill for and extra 30 mins which always makes me feel good[clap][sporty][clap][sporty]

Just having my lunch which is one of my favs as its so quick and easy to prepare and tastes yummy - tuna chop house style salad with yogurt mint dressing[angel][angel][angel]

Got a hours work in my office to do before the afternoon school run which takes a big chunk out of my day as it takes at least an hour[msnsad] Never mind though as I love driving[msnwink]

Hi

well it's all go go go on here at the moment[msnwink]

just a quick log on for me because i'm off to have a trial run in making some bread[msneek]
the little darlings are going to be baking their own bread at tea time so i thought i would test it out first, i'm going to be making parmesan and sundried tomato rolls and the kiddies will be making regular white rolls

poor hubbie will have to eat most of it[msnscared][msnsmile2]

Sally sounds like you had a lovely mothers day[msnsmile]

and Fiona SNAP!!! i have to write everything down too or else it doesn't get bought when it comes to the supermarket, i also have to write down appointments and sometimes silly reminders for things that i shouldn't need a reminder for, my husband gets quite frustrated providing the words that i know i need to say but aren't there when i need them, it's all because of the scarring the seizures caused on my brain, that and a little bit of old age 37!!!!,[msneek] but hey at least now if i blank my mil i have a really good excuse[msnwink]

I did stick with the diet last week although I admit I was a little naughty yesterday, no chocolate but bacon butties with white bread and butter[:O] roast potatoes....more than two and apple pie and custard. I only eat wholemeal bread if I eat any at all but bacon is not the same unless on white warburtons[msnwink]

Just had weetabix and fruit so far today and I am doing steak for tea with bolied potaoes and veg[msnsmile2]

Spinach, onion and herb fritata (from the 100 Green recipes book from SW)

1 1/2 syns per serving on green

Fry light
6 spring onions sliced
9oz spinach leaves washed
3tbs freshly chopped basil
6 eggs beaten
1oz of Parmesan cheese grated

Spray pan with FL and cook Spring Onions for 2 mins add Spinach and fry for 2-3 minutes until it wilts
Mix the basil with the eggs and pour into pan fry for 5-6 mins
Sprinkle the top with with the cheese and place under the grill for 3-5 mins until the fritata has set
Leave to stand for 5 mins before serving

Hope this helps Fiona?

do you want one with potato in it?

if so how about using thinly sliced sweet potato and various coloured peppers then add the basic quiche mixture and stick it in the oven for 25mins

my bread is "resting"[msneek]

off to knead and stretch in 5 mins

well all that kneading stretching has paid off i have a beautiful looking parmesan and sun dried tomato loaf

darling husband (who had the butter out waiting!!)says it tastes good too[msnsmile2]

i will be cutting it into large slices and sending some over to mil, bit too tempting for me to have hanging around the house[msneek]

my eldest has made a white loaf and this is as i type "proving" itself in front of the fire[msneek]

it's a good job i'm off to get weighed soon or i may have succumed to a slice or two[msnwink]
