Elaine
Well I am happy to report I am still within my target range -I haven't really moved much in 6 weeks so what ever I am doing to maintain the weight is working.I am trying to keep my weight in the same range (target +/- 3 lbs ) so that when I go to Florida in 2 months I can maybe allow myself a few indulgences.
I have upped my running so that 3 mornings a week I do a 6 mile run so that is helping.
Hope all of you are doing well -keep it up.
Morning all, first of big thanks to Sandra for organising the owners meet at Manny's - great food and lovely to meet so many owners, quite a few of them new.
Haven't stopped running on the eating out front as the next night we were eating out at Seasons 52 on Sandlake Road with friends of ours who have a house 2 doors down from us. If you haven't eaten there before and appreciate good food put it on your list! Every dish is based on no more than 425 calories - not that you would know it as the food is delicious. I had baked shrimps and mushrooms, followed by a fillet steak with a peppercorn sauce and key lime pie. The puds are in a little glass so you only get a few mouthfuls - but every mouthful was delicious - and the shrimps & mushrooms are to die for! As per their name the food is seasonal and the menu is changed every week. Price wise it is on a par with Cafe d'Antonios but the food is far superior. And we used to think Antonios was good! There seem to be a few smart looking restaurants up that end so we are going to force ourselves to try them out! BTW Seasons 52 do a complimentary valet park - and when you arrive at the car park you see why, but worth the $5-10 tip you give the valets!
Yesterday DH played golf at Celebration so I met him for lunch - had a great salad (had had no breakfast to allow for this!) and had a blue cheese & walnut salad on a bed of leaves with a balsamic dressing (ie the vinegar and no oil). Very tasty and extremely reasonable. We then hit the furniture shops as we are thinking about updating our 3 pc suite. OMG 5 shops later completely addled brains and got home about 7.00pm completely exhausted. Still thinking about what we are going to get, seem to have narrowed down a colour, and we know we want leather! Still we are out again in a month's time so we may leave it until then, otherwise we will get no relaxing at all.
We cooked a fresh tomato salad which we had with some fresh pasta (yes I know a no-no but it's quick) and a large salad. Plus I have to say several extremely strong bacardi and cokes and a glass of Pinot Grigio!!
We are waiting in this am for a tree man (he is going to quote us for cutting down and grinding the stump on our shrub oaks) and a handyman who is building us a trash enclosure at the side of the house. You can see how exciting these owner's hols are!
Am about to have tomato omelette for breakfast and will be having cold meat and salad for lunch, haven't got as far as supper yet!
i'm still envious Fiona[msnwink]
sorry i wasn't about too much yesterday, lots on at home and busy juggling, will be extra good and get food diary posted later
have a great day everyone

then I had about 20 syns worth of choccies[msnembarrased]
but over all I feel sightly slimmer so still hoping for a loss[msnsmile2]
I have gone back to more formal exercise and have been on the treadmill and using my weights especially to get rid of the bingo wings by the summer[msnwink][msnwink]
Fiona and Sandra sounds wonderful out there in Florida you lucky things, Elaine never mind keep up the good work, Janny well done you, fabulous, and Mizzy sounds like you are back on track[clap][clap][clap]
To all who have not posted recently hope you are doing OK, but where are you all???
Have a great BH weekend[clap][clap][clap]
Morning all - it's still dark here! I have been up for an hour as my YD took her driving test this am - and passed!!![clap][clap] She has just rung me. I hope this is the beginning of a turn-around for her and she can feel confident about her exams etc.
We ate out yesterday in the evening (we tend to stick to cold meat and salad lunch at home - although I tried to cook some jacket potatoes and the house was quickly filled with the smell of burning - someone has spilt something on the oven - so swift removal of jackets - uncooked - and oven put into clean mode), we ate out at Hoolihans last night - lettuce wrape and a grilled chicken mandarin salad, which was too much for me, but very tasty!
Today we are hitting Walmart & the new Lowes on the 27 and there is a Gator Cook Out at Formosa Gardens Plaza at lunch time so we might see what that is like - arranged by the 4 counties that meet at around this point, Osceola, Polk, Lake & Orange. Then if we have any energy left (as we are getting lazier by the minute here) we will hit Premium Outlets as we managed to miss Banana Republic and Gap and this is top of the list for the gals! Tomorrow we are doing Millennia (again) and it is Mother's Day here so not sure what to expect - except that all the restaurants will be full!
Have a good day all.

Hi everyone.
A quick catch up - had one week on the Gulf Coast. Perfect, not a cloud in the sky for the full seven days [msnsmile2] [msncool]
Moved to Orlando today, driving through some terrible storms.
Eaten lots, sunbathed lots but been disappointed with the shopping so far.
Hope everyone is well - catch up again early next week.
Fiona
I think you will find Mother's Day is on the 13th May!!!!
Sandra
congrats Fiona to your daughter and for you too, that official "mums taxi" service will now be a thing of the past[clap]
Julieanne pleased to hear you arrived safely and are having a good time, one question - IHOP, have you been yet and tried that new cinnamon french toast? it's totally gorgeous[msntongue]
Julie, i know you're having a rough time and i am too[grouphug] i seem to have one good day followed swiftly by a bad one (it does start good but gets silly as the day goes on) the positive for you is you are still counting where as i daren't count at all, there's no class for me tommorrow and this has been my undoing[msnscared] i plan on having a good day today and will do my best to get a few good days under my belt before i can safely say i'm back on track[msnembarrased]
Sally, i know it's been difficult for you too these past few months[grouphug] we do miss you on here and i'm sure i'm right in saying not just from me but from all of us one here " we miss you and are here to offer support when you're ready to come back"
Elaine, hope you had a great time yesterday and after you get over the hangover we will expect photies
hope everyones having a good weekend
Marie
Well said Mizzy, I was only thinking about Sally the other day - Sally we are here for you[grouphug][grouphug]

i've avoided those scales but may jump on if i remember in the morning[msnwink]
Mizzy
Evening all, busy today - our last full day here[msncry]. HOA meeting at our house this am - actually quite good as it was also bin day today so we chucked everything out and tidied the place up - not that it was that untidy with just the 2 of us, and now just the packing to look forward too[msnsad]. DH has bought up Ralph Laurens and Millenia Mall so good job we travelled out with an extra case inside the large one! I restrained myself and did not buy a DKNY bag, but did go mad this evening and bought 2 tops from Banana Republic and some MAC primer - feel like I need polyfilla actually!
Ate at Brio's tonight, it was good but not as good as Season's 52 and more or less the same money. Lovely flat breads (yes I know I shouldn't have eaten them, but what the heck!) We shared a calamari and I had veal marsala and DH had calves liver and we shared a creme brulee, and if it is any consolation I feel absolutely stuffed!!
Just about to get the cases out as we have to be at the airport for 4.oopm so would like to get the lions share of the packing done. Of course I still have more curtains to put up (bought more for the back master to fill out the set I had already bought) and put the pool cover away, and then we are done!
Looking forward to seeing my girls - both the real ones and the hairy ones - although I do feel I could quite happily stay out another few weeks. In fact next year we thought why don't we come for a month and the gals come out for the last 2 weeks!
Probably won't get back on tomorrow, but will be back in touch once the jet lag has worn off!

Morning everyone [msnsmile2]
The end of another lovely day in Florida. Been to Bahama Breeze tonight and I am full to bursting with paella [msntongue] [msntongue]
Had a wander round the outlet mall to walk the meal off and bought myself a pair of naturalizer sandals
The days are rushing by way too fast now - wish they would slow down!!!
Marie - I can't believe I am saying that after 10 days I've not been to IHOP [msnoo] [msneek]
Last week we went to local places on Siesta Key and St Armands for breakfast - and since we arrived in Orlando we've been to Perkins and Celebration. Might do IHOP in the morning [msntongue] [msntongue]
<span style="color:red">"Marie - I can't believe I am saying that after 10 days I've not been to IHOP" [msnoo][msneek]</span id="red">
and i cannot beleive you've been out for 10 days[msnoo] btw, what are naturalizer sandals?
good luck with todays weigh in Elaine and anyone else getting weighed[clap]
Evening all, got back at 6.30am this am (ie 1.30am Florida time) so you will not be surprised to know we are feeling shattered!
Hopped on the scales this am and looked as if 1 - 2lbs has gone on, so will have to work at getting that off before next Tuesday.
Food has been all over the place today (toastie at the airport, half a piece of carrot cake at tea time) but just about to cook mozzerella pasta and serve with large salad, so hopefully back on track.
Enjoyed walking the hounds this am, they are keen to go again but it is intermittently spitting so not too sure!
Are you feeling any better Pam? I hate these first few days back, can feel very smug as only 5 weeks till we are out again, although then it is likely we will not be back until November or Christmas! Girls thrilled with all their goodies (clothes from Urban Outfitters & American Eagle, MAC & Estee Lauder make up and of course perfume and fags from the duty free!! Now just got to finish unpacking[msnsad].

Welcome back Pam & Fiona - hope you had a wonderful time
Hows the decorating going Marie? [msneek]
I know I have been missing for a few days again, been very busy. Family wedding last weekend - which was the start of a very indulgent bank holiday weekend. I had almost forgotten how much I adore wedding cake [msntongue] That said I was surprised to have lost this week - 1.5 lbs off [msnsmile2]
Determind to be very good this coming week as I don't want to slip back to my old habits [msnembarrased]
Been swimming twice already this week and have another swim planned for Friday morning.
Has anyone got any passwords for SW website??
Hope everyone is having a good week - good luck for any weigh-ins coming up :D

good to hear you got back home safely Fiona[msnsmile]
Elaine, decorating on hold for another 24hrs until my head behaves itself or the meds work harder[msneek] i've been to Ikea today, it's my husbands idea of hell on earth[msnwink] but as i've pointed out to him i'm saving him £££ so he shouldn't really walk around looking so miserable
food wise today , been not too good, tiredness and sheer lazyness won the day today but I HAVE NOT GIVEN UP!!!!!!!!!
Marie
oops forgot to say
well done Elaine on the weight loss[clap][clap][clap] and you too Fiona, only a teeny gain you're a star[clap][clap][clap] unlike me[msnembarrased] oink oink[msnembarrased]

Well done Elaine[clap][clap]
Fiona you did really well and no not really feeling much better yet I suffer really badly with jet lag it sometimes takes me two weeks to get completely back to normal! I haven't really managed to get back on track with the plan yet either always find it so difficult after a holiday [msnsad][msnsad]
Marie glad to hear you haven't given up keep trying you will get there !
poor pam [grouphug] i know how you feel i really suffered with the jet lag this last time[grouphug]
i haven't given up and woke up this morning in a much better frame of mind, i'm well over half way to my target so i'd be really foolish to throw away after a yr and a half of hard work[msneek] i've been in this position before where i was half way to target, started to feel much better about myself and then blew it[msnembarrased] the big difference this time around is that as soon as my bigger clothes got too big i threw them out so now the waistbands are getting tight and i know i have to get back down to things
i'm planning a long walk with Olly today and some more decorating, my dh has locked away any temptation and has agreed to help ration the dark chocolate kit kats no matter how much i moan
[msnscared] but deep down whilst i appreciate his help and support, i know that only i can do it for myself and i'm responsible for the food choices that i make
will post honest food diary later
have a good day everyone
marie
Hi all, just popping in quickly - sorry just got so much on at the moment[msnoo]

Gosh it's gone very quite on here ! Does that mean everybody has been as naughty as me ???? Hubby was ill all weekend so I was feeling bored and fed up all I wanted to do was eat and I did[:I][:I]
Hopefully make up for it before Thursday!
Pam I was being quiet because I put on 0.5 lb and I had been really good this week.
Going to be so strict this week and see what happens - fed up now[msnsad]
well i've been naughty too the last few days[msnembarrased] i'm stressed, unhappy and over tired which all leads to me reaching for all the wrong foods

I have been quiet as I have no losses or gains to report as I am staying at target so its quite boring for me really as I don't have any feeling of excitement or apprehension when I go to weigh in as I know I have +/- 3lbs to play with and still be ok .I read how you are all doing though so keeping up to date .

Morning all, sorry have been a bit quiet, we went up to trade show in the Docklands at the weekend, have forgotten how exhausting they are. And as for the food[gun] - they should be shot for failing miserably to provide something nutrional that is not fried or full of calories!!
Made the fatal mistake of believing ED when she said to me buy me bagels and I will have one for breakfast every morning - but you can guess who is having one! Also got into the bad habit of having a glass of wine every night for the last week of the hols, and have carried it on since we got back. However, had last glass from a bottle last night so although we have unopened bottle in the fridge I think I can be strong-willed from now on!
Getting my books out to put me back on track, and ED is coming back to SW with me tonight.

Good luck Julie and Fiona!!!!
I am now more or less back on track (yesterday and today) although I don't think I am eating enough really. I don't have any wine in the house and have been trying not to buy any (see how long that lasts) [msnembarrased] ! Hubby is still quite ill with Gastroenteritis [msnsad] but at least that means I can cook exactly what I should have. Fingers crossed that I will be able to lose at least some of the four pounds I gained from holiday.

Julie, you could have added a vanilla mullerlight to your cereal if you wanted to save the milk for those starbucks and how about a dessert after tea like a fruit salad or jelly and then you maybe won't crave the choccie, would that help
it might be a good idea if we can all go off and find a low syn choccie dessert and then share our info?
i'm finishing the day with a rice crispy bar they are 4.5syns so that's a total of 8.5 for me today, i'm very pleased with how today's gone[msnsmile]

Just read on a forum I have just found that SW are running a trial in Peterborough to do syn free SW ready meals ! They won't be available in shops you will have to order direct from SW :
The meals they are trying are:
Free on Red plan:
> hearty braised beef with root vegetables & thyme.
> Tarragon chicken with butternut squash
> Cottage pie with carrot & swede mash
> Lamb in tomato sauce with crushed swede
> Sweet chilli salmon with oriental greens
Free on Green plan:
> Mediterranean style pasta bake
> Asparagus risotto with mint & peas
> Moroccan style spiced vegetable soup
> Crunchy green veg mix
Free on both plans:
> Mediterranean style veg mix
> Creamy butternut squash soup
Apparently its all freshly made the day you want it deilvered- with organic and local produce and are very generous portions. Could be useful if you are short of time or to take to work and put in the microwave.
Evening gals, well I got my come-uppance tonight + 1½lbs, although I think I must have had the smallest weight gain from a holiday in the past few weeks as mine was read out as an example of how not to go mad!![msnembarrased]
Back to the porridge tomorrow and will be having a green day, so got my bulgher wheat ready and a couple of eggs hardboiled, let's see how long the [angel] behaviour lasts!
One problem I do have is now my eldest dog is very slow walking we can't power walk round the green - takes as long to do the short version as it used to the long one - can't think where I have heard that before!!
A funny my sister sent me:
The honest truth .... about men
1. The nice men are ugly.
2. The handsome men are not nice.
3. The handsome and nice men are gay.
4. The handsome, nice, and heterosexual men are married.
5. The men who are not so handsome, but are nice men, have no money.
6. The men who are not so handsome, but are nice men with money think we are only after their money.
7. The handsome men without money are after our money.
8. The handsome men, who are not so nice and somewhat heterosexual, don't think we are beautiful enough.
9. The men who think we are beautiful, that are heterosexual, somewhat nice and have no money, are cowards.
10. The men who are somewhat handsome, somewhat nice and have money and thank God are straight, are shy and NEVER MAKE THE FIRST MOVE!!!
11. The men who never make the first move, automatically lose interest in us when we take the initiative.
NOW..WHO IN THE HELL UNDERSTANDS MEN?!?!
Hi everyone
Seems ages since I posted but we have been on a 7 night cruise whilst here in Florida. We visited Haiti, Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Mexico. The food was so so tempting and for the first 48 hours I was an[angel]. That soon stopped although I did not go mad, and fortunately I don't like alcohol, so that did not interfere with my enjoyemnt at all. I actually thought I had gained about 7 lbs - the average weight gained on a week's cruise - so it said in the Royal Carribean blurb!!
I was astounded when I got on the scales and I was exactly the same as the week before[clap][clap]and hubby had put on 6 lbs. He is now trying the SW routine, but we are off to Manny's again tomorrow for another OV meet up so no doubt he will have fries. I will be careful as still have another 4 weeks to go before official weigh in back in UK.
Will check in again soon. Have only had time to read this page but will catch up. Hope hubby is better soon Pamela, give him our best wishes. Fiona, well done on your small gain, that will soon be off when you get back on your porridge.

same goes for you Sandra, well done[angel][angel][angel]
Pam those meals sound lovely such a shame no one does any up here, my village butcher used to have sw approved sausages and burgers but i stopped buying them as the amount of fat that came out when you grilled them was ridiculous[msnoo]
i'm feeling very positive again today[clap]
have a great day everyone and good luck those weighing in, Elaine?

Marie I am the same[msnsad][msnsad][msnsad] My sons 10th birthday yesterday was a nightmare food wise for me and it has carried on today[msnembarrased] I have decided to attend my SW managers group after mine on Monday I am starting again and I will lose a stone by the time I go to Florida in August - I must!!!!!
This is for you[grouphug][grouphug][grouphug][grouphug]
Evening all, just got back from a lovely evening meeting old friends, super meal, needless to say none of it particularly slimming~! Off to Bournemouth tomorrow to visit MIL who had a bad fall last week, so will not be on here until late tomorrow evening.
Have a good day all - I am soooooooo looking forward to my ghastly chinese[sick][grin] tomorrow lunchtime!
just popping on for while to say hi[msnsmile]

i'm in my painting clothes and off to do yet another stint, have too really beds being delivered thurs, i'm hoping the painting will take my mind off food[msnembarrased] will check in later good or bad
fingers crossed it's good, it has to be, my new trousers that i bought at christmas are rather snug[msnscared]

have fun!

I have got to get to grips with this now[msnmad]
for you Julie[grouphug][grouphug][grouphug]
i expect to be the same if not worse[msnembarrased] i am totally dreading class and it's not the weigh in it's another members attitude that gets me down[msnsad] she's having another perfect run and has no empathy for those who struggle, i just cannot bear her sarcastic comments and smug face[msnmad]
i'm thinking of joining another class to be honest but that would make her feel like she's won[msnsad]
yesterday i lost the plot and ate two very sensible meals that were totally syns free, it was the high syn "in betweens" that i shouldn't have had, chocolate croissants[msnembarrased]
will check in later

Morning all, good day in the end yesterday as we had to eat at an Italian restaurant as the chinese was closed[clap]. I had a salmon salad and a white wine spritzer and black tea, and then we had mozzerella pasta for supper in the evening (trying to make up for the day before!).
So far today had poached eggs on toast with a slice of ham, making a fritatta for lunch and risotto for supper. Lots of water!
Also decided the house is a tip and as I am at home today going to give it a blitz, so no sitting on here for hours!!

Well even though its only a week today since we got home Florida seems like a lifetime ago.
The holiday was great, had a wonderful time – but we were brought down to earth with a bump spending the night we got home in A&E with my Dad who was not well. As a result of that I went probably more than 48 hours without sleep and very little food. Dad’s at home now and is much better but its an anxious wait for us all until he goes back to hospital for tests at the end of the month……
So I’ve not settled back into any kind of eating routine healthy or otherwise and I now have a rotten cold and chest infection which has reduced my appetite even more. I haven’t been to the gym since I got back which means its almost a month now since I was there – I may go tonight and just attempt a short spell on the treadmill followed by a few sit ups to break myself back in very gently!
[grouphug]for you Julie, but I’m sure you will use your holiday as motivation to get yourself back on track – we all know you can do it!
Marie – sounds as if you are doing well. Good luck for your class – hope you can get through it without anyone spoiling it for you. That member sounds insecure and childish – why should they spoil it for everyone else….. Do your best to ignore her – you’re worth more than that!

[grouphug][grouphug][grouphug] For you Julie keep your chin up you know you can do it!
Marie just ignore her she WILL go through a rough patch soon !!!!
Well I've been ill with Gastroenteritis since Friday (caught from Hubby) So I haven't eaten much at all tried some cornflakes as this is what the GP told George to eat. It looks as if I have lost 7lbs since Friday ! Not a good way to lose though [sick][msnsad]
for you Julieanne, hope you dad is soon on the mend[grouphug] and for you too Pam[grouphug] i hope you're feeling better soon
Fiona i expect you've burned lbs off today with all that blitzing[msnwink]
Elaine, where are you? recovering after a mad weekend?
well my news, here goes[msnscared] back from class and feeling like an emotional wreck, i finally said out loud how difficult it has been for me coming to a class where i feel uncomfortable around another member and rather suprisingly i'm not the only one with this problem!
with the said member not being present tonight quite a few other members admitted they felt uncomfortable too and i got loads of support from my friends at class, i feel emotionally wrung out but so much better having opened up about it
weight wise, well that's been rubbish news +2.5lbs [msnembarrased][msnembarrased][msnembarrased] planning on turning things around now, i didn't realise until tonight just how many friends i have in class and i feel so much stronger[clap]
Marie
Pam sorry to hear you are so poorly as well, is George on the mend now? I don't see how cornflakes - presumably with milk will help - more likely to have the opposite effect I would have thought! You need to have things like rice with a poached egg in, your stomach will be in a very delicate state and need something to bulk it out but also not heavy (does this make sense!) After that move on to white fish and rice.
Marie you have to rise above that heifer and draw on the support of your friends at your class and everyone on here, and your DH of course! We ALL go through bad spells - otherwise we wouldn't be dieting would we??
Just had an attack of the munchies and ate 2 crackers with pate and a couple of baby toms, must get some muller yogs so I have something sweet to eat when desperate! Had already had an apple and a banana after our supper (changed to paella) and that was not enough.
Julie hope your dad is on the mend, and it's 2 weeks tomorrow since we left florida - seems like an age ago!
Let's try and get back on track tomorrow peeps.

Finally created some space in my life to get back on dieting treadmill.
Got back from Florida on Friday[msnsad] so want to lose a stone for my next trip in Sept.
Bit hard as I cannot weigh myself-but wish me well.
Morning all -just popping in to see how you are all doing.I am still keeping on track within my target range I have been there for about 10 weeks now and I hope to stay there for a few more as then I might feel able to let myself go a little when we go to Florida in 6 weeks time.
For those who are struggling a bit or just getting back to it I say stick with it -the rewards are great -more energy and a better feeling of self are my biggest effects-that and the comments I get when people I haven't seen for a while see me .
Fiona you will be pleased to hear that I have even found the self confidence to have my hair highlighted to go with my new me.!!!
It is a long journey it took me from last august to lose my 2 1/2 stone but it would have been harder without the support here and of the group I attend but the bigggest help I found was making a plan for the week of what I was going to eat so there were no temptations around for the times I felt the need so I had to snack on grapes or other fruit.I am always being asked at group what can I say to help new members -so I tell them 2 little mantras I have
Plan when you can
and
If you bite it - write it
meaning write down what you are going to eat and what you do eat it certainly helped me along.
Keep at it everyone the rewards are worth the effort you are all making .[clap][clap][clap][clap][clap]

Thanks for the advice Fiona I think you are right. At the moment whatever I eat seems to push straight through me. I will try the poached eggs and rice later today if I'm up to it. George is better but still not A1 thanks.
Marie well done for bringing it up at class !! I'm sure it will stop now if you all stick together.
Julie sorry to hear about your dad hope he is getting better now!

Anyone tried Hoodia.
I bought some on my last trip (got back Friday night) and started it on Saturday.
It's a south african herb that the tribespeople eat to stop hunger pangs (that's a bit sad isn't it?).
Unfortunately I didn't read the instructions and took a tablet just before bed and tossed and turned for ages (1 tab has the caffeine eqivalent of two cups of coffee-I don't drink coffee!!!)You are only supposed to have 2 tabs a day and none 5 hours before bed!!!!!
Anyway-I'll give it a try-it might just be psychological with me-if I feel like I'm doing something useful-then I am doing something useful!
See how it goes.

Yes tried Hoodia - Didn't work for me. In fact I've tried every type of pill I think. The only one that actually did suppress my appetite was one I got from a slimming centre. The problem was it kept me awake made me feel anxious, dry mouth, amongst many other side effects. Just not worth it in my opinion.
thanks for your support ladies, i'm feeling a lot stronger today[msnsmile]
alison good to have you back[grouphug] Hoodia? yes i have heard of it and read into it but it's not something that would work for me as i'm looking for a long term solution, i would read the label very carefully though because as you have already found out it's not just the hoodia extract in the bottle there's other additives too
can you not get weighed on the hospital scales alison or is this no longer available to you, i've asked before and my consultant is very happy to have you come to class just for support and motivation whilst you monitor the weight loss at the hospital or doctors, what do you think?
Jan, it's a good motto that and i am writing every little thing down to get me back on track, it does help[clap]
having a good one so far today[angel] will check in later with food diary

which class do you go to Mizzy?
I went to Gill's class-say no more!!!!! Never went back!!!!
Don't think the hoodia is working that much-but the fact that I have spent $40-may kick start my motivation!!!
It's not really eating from hunger pangs with me-it's more eating all the wrong things-small bits and pieces over a day-soon add up!
But really do want to lose about a stone ideally or 1.5st preferably by Sept-so that I can buy a sexy new chair-to go with my sexy new image (I'm joking about the last bit-lol!)
We shall see-at the moment just a day at a time-trying to stick to fruit, salads, protein and veg!!!!

Hi all
Back from my weekend away, during which I had many naughty things to eat and drink [msnembarrased] and its weigh day tomorrow [msnscared]
The concert was brilliant, and although Girls Aloud might not have been my first choice when choosing a band to see I can honestly say that the show was fantastic. I have been to my fair share of concerts over the years and this was by far one of the best. A good time was had by all [msnsmile2]
Its been a bit of a struggle to get back on the plan and I still haven't quite managed it
will check in again tomorrow
Elaine
good luck with weighing in Elaine, fingers crossed it'll be ok[msnsmile]
Alison, i go to Lorraines class, if you log onto the sw website and put in your postcode it will bring up all the classes as there's a few new one now, i know what you mean about Gill, when she covers for our consultant no one bothers staying, how she's managed to remain a consultant i'll never know[msneek]
you ladies that have just been away, yes you know who i'm talking about, where are the trip reports? i really could do with reading a good trip report to keep me going til my next florida fix[msnwink]
Marie
Hi all, stayed the same last night, better than putting on I suppose but I did think I might have at least lost a ½lb! Spent all afternoon at Wexham for one of ED's check-ups, all ok, external infection cleared but may have an internal one that they can't see so carry on with the strong antibiotics. Clinic was running 1hr 20mins late (great ...) and then she was given an x-ray form - so wanted to queue up there at 4.30 so we would hit the rush hour traffic home. So we decided to go back another afternoon, but am going to try if we can get it done at our local hospital here. MRI scans to be done, but up at Mount Vernon.
Pam eggs are definately best thing for you, they are binding![msnwink]
Good luck with the weigh in Elaine.
Mizzy - to be honest we did absolutely nothing on our hols this time - we had lots of plans of going on some trips as we did last year, but I think we under-estimated how stressed we had been! Chris is on the HOA and had 2 HOA meetings while we were there, plus spent 2 mornings with contractors as our community is not very happy with the current landscaping people. By the time we had done that, mended the broken blinds, done a few updates (and how much shopping did that take!) the time seemed to have flown by. Still it's only a few weeks till we go again and we are going to drag them out on a boat ride or something!!
Glorious weather today, so everyone wants a bbq tonight! They are having sausages and I am thinking of having a mushroom, onion & pepper kebab (or 2). am playing safe with fritatta & salad for lunch, but am thinking of going back to mix2match as I did quite well with that last year.
Have a good day everyone, and Janny I love your quote, am going to put it on my fridge door - I re-organised all the magnets on there to have all the slimming ones just at eye level so cannot be ignored! Along with the immortal - fridge pickers wear bigger knickers[msntongue]!!
Hi all just a quick post as I have put my back out and sitting typing is not easy, well done to all you losers and take care to all those going through bad patches etc[grouphug][grouphug][grouphug]
I am almost back on track but not completely[msnsmile]

Marie – I bet you’re glad you were brave enough to speak your feelings Monday night – you should feel a whole lot better especially knowing that others feel the same. As for the weight gain – just pick yourself up, dust yourself down…………. sounds as if a few of us need to do that and start again!!! You sound really back in the swing of things now………….
I’ve not been brave enough or had the chance to get on the scales yet since my hols but will do tomorrow – I need to set a new target and make a fresh start
Went to the gym Monday night and did 30 mins walking on the treadmill followed by a few arm exercises with free weights and some sit ups.
Am going tonight to do a little bit more! I’m feeling much better now
Julie - hope you feel better soon
you've never said Julieanne but how's it going with the fellas being introduced into your ladies only gym, come on dish the gossip:D if it's the gym i'm thinking about then i'm pretty certain my bil (the fireman) has just joined [msnwink]

Marie
[/quote]
Marie - no gosip to dish [msnsad]
The gym is still fairly quiet and although there are now more men go than women I don't see a lot of them as the area where the heavy weights are is around a corner from most of the equipment I use so I only see them walking past. Or standing in the reception area talking which they seem to do an awful lot of [msnwink] [msnwink]
The gym I use is in Billingham - is this the one you're thinking of?
well done Pam, that's a great loss[clap][clap][clap] here's to that club 10[clap]
Julieanne, no i was thinking of teeside park, and i must say, men stood around talking!!![chatter] they would totally deny it of course, not like us women who are happy to admit to developing our social and communication skills [grin]
food wise, good for me so far today [angel] i've just nipped down from another painting stint to get a coffee and catch up, another bed (ours) turned up today, 3 days early [msnoo] so i must push on, my dining room is begining to look like a warehouse with all the boxes [msneek]
Julie, hope you're ok?
marie
Hi all,
Thanks Marie I am getting better, it turns out I had not pulled my back but it was a virus and DH and ED have also had it[msnsad]
Pam very well done what a fab loss[clap][clap][clap]

i know i said i dont drink and i dont usually, except for christmas and holidays but dh brought in a bottle especially for me as it's his week off[?]
marie
Hi everyone
Sorry not been around but life here in Florida has been hectic and can't believe where the time has gone. Been here 4 weeks already with 3 to go. On my very exact (WW) scales I seem to be staying the same weight so I will be more than pleased if I stay the same for my official class weigh in when I return.
Pamela, sorry you have been poorly but glad you managed to lose all that weight!!!! That will give you incentive to carry on carefully I would think. Glad you sorted out the problems with that awful woman at your class Mizzy. Maybe she will start to feel uncomfortable when everyone ignores her comments etc. Hope your virus has gone Julie. You have set yourself a big target so hope it all comes off. Fiona, it seems an age ago that we were in Manny's. So much has happened since then.
For those of you I have missed, it is not intentional, good luck to everyone this week.
Sandra
Hi everyone, god it seems ages since I felt this positive but I do!!!![clap][clap][clap]
I had a very nice new member join my group this morning and I have promised her I would do the first week again - its keeping her motivated and me too[msnwink][msnwink][msnwink]
Got my 2 litre bottle of water on the go again too and have not done that for a while[angel] I am not able to do any formal exercise as I still have the bad back[msnmad] finding it very frustrating to be honest but I have done some gentle walking today[sporty][sporty][sporty]
Food diary so far and planned for later
banana and yog
skinny lattes HE A's
potato omelette with mushrooms and peas made with 1/2 tbspn of olive oil 1/2 HE B
2 litres of water
muller lite
mushroom risoto for tea
melon and grapes
We have been out for extra coffee's so have used 12 syns and I will not be having any more today[clap]
I have not been posting much but have managed to keep up to date with you all so very well done[clap][clap][clap]
that's good to hear Julie and you too Sandra[clap][clap][clap]
i had quick run in and out of class tonight and no surprises i've stayed the same[msnsad] i thought i would have as i am due on and quite bloated so i think that's the reason but only time will tell
got to plod on and hope for a loss next week, i'm certainly burning enough energy to be helping burn off some lbs

Glad you're a little better Julie - hope you soon get back to full excercise mode [msnwink]
Well I emptied some packing boxes at the weekend - still a mountain to go through though [msnembarrased] [msnembarrased]
Almost a year on from my move I really should be better organised by now - you wouldn't believe the state of the place still [msnembarrased] [msnembarrased]
Still all over the place food and excercise wise - probably won't get settled down until we see what happens with Dads hospital appointment this week
Thanks Mizzy and Julie and a big [grouphug] for you!
I am still feeling very positive and on track even with the children on half term and all that goes with it[msneek]
Mizzy a maintain is still much better than a gain so well done you!!!![clap][clap][clap]
thinking of you Julieanne, hope your dad is soon on the mend[grouphug]
Julie, i am positive, i'm eating much better since last monday and all those extra treats have been fizzled out
keeping busy so that helps, 2 bedrooms completely finished now and one to go, we've left the worst one til last, thou shall not move a single item in darling daughters room so as she's out today and i'm painting like crazy in the hope to get as much done and things back into place before she comes home
saying all that, i think my lunchbreak's over now so back to work for me[msnsad]

before i dash upstairs to get ready just popped on to see how everyones doing and to wish Elaine good luck with the weigh in[msnsmile2]
have a great day everyone
marie
HI all, I am in the naughty corner again as I put on 1½lbs this week[V]. I think it is a combination of less exercise due to having to not walk so far with the elderly dog who still wants to go out twice a day, and drinks party followed by takeaway on Friday pm, and another takeaway on Sunday pm.
Just had a brunch of eggs, potatoes, tomato & 2 slices ham, and will be having mushrooms and pasta for supper, but have couscous salad made up in the fridge if I get the munchies about 2 - 3 this afternoon!
Also have got into the habit of having a glass of wine again in the evening after the hols, instead of just 1 on Friday and Sat evenings, so back on track with that now.
Good luck anyone weighing in today.
Password is either olive or olives - seems to have been singular recently so think it may be that!

marie
Mizzy for you[grouphug][grouphug][grouphug]I can honestly say I know how you feel, I am doing better but still not 100%
I just had a chat with my team manager and she pointed out few obvious points but some times these things need saying..........
Have faith in free food and eat 80% of your daily intake from you free foods list[msnsmile2]
15% should come from your healthy extras weighed and measured[msnsmile2]
5% from your syns again weighed and measured[msnwink]
Has Food Optimising become like a comfy pair of shoes?? If so you need to feel like you have new shoes and they are a bit tight[msnwink]

[grouphug][grouphug][grouphug] To everyone who has gained or are struggling!!! That includes me !!!
Gained 2 lbs yesterday I have found it really difficult to get back on track since our holiday but I think I may be back on track a bit today not perfect but here is my diary:
Green for a change
Milk HEA
Fruit and Muller lite
Tomato & Basil Soup wholemeal bread HEB
Hi Fi Bar HEB
2 large bananas
Apple
Lots of water[angel]
Butternut squash and chilli risotto Mmmmmmmmmm (anybody need the recipe let me know.
saving my sins for a couple of glasses of wine whilst watching the footie tonight.
Have a good weekend all!!!!
for you too Pam[grouphug] it's been exactly the same with me, it's like since i came home from my hols i've lost all my senses and slipped quite alarmingly back into old habits
today has been good, i kept myself out of pizza hut[clap] and managed a relatively good food diary
which was green
usual brekkie of toast and jam 2syns
thai fillets and savoury rice 1 syn
pasta bolognese with quorn pieces 3syns for sauce
banana and muller yog
2 chocolates from box 4syns
small slither of birthday cake about 6 syns, it really was only a slither
so syns wise we're looking at around 16[msneek] which is better than it certainly has been just lately
if you could have seen the huge 2nd birthday cake i talked myself out of having then you'd be very very proud of me[msnwink]
Mizzy I hope James had a lovely birthday[clap][clap] Well done for turning down the 2nd birthday cake too!!!
Here is my diary, not perfect but getting there.....

1 slice of wholemeal HEB

Pam for you [grouphug][grouphug][grouphug]we certainly know how you feel[msnsad]
we will get there though ladies[msnwink]
well i'm pleased with myself for yesterday and i am positive that i will continue on today
i've just been speaking to my one time diet buddy and she's back at class come monday, i know it's cliche but she really does help me just by knowing that she's doing the plan too and when i'm tempted i have extra incentive to do well, a little bit of healthy and friendly competition[msnsmile] and lots of email encouragement[clap]
food today is allready planned out[msnwink]
marie
That's good to hear Mizzy[clap][clap][clap]
I too have had the best day I have had so far this year [msnsmile2] and its because my frame of mind is different[clap][clap]
The chat I had with my TM last night seemd to click a switch in my head, her comment about the plan becoming like a pair comfy shoes is just so true, and she also went on about the power of free foods and how they are your lifeline and how you need never be hungry and its just so true[msnsmile2]
Food wise I have had just fruit to eat so far (3 bananas and a fresh fruit salad) as we have been out, plus of course my 2 skinny lattes HEA's, but normally I would have had a bite or two of things I shouldn't and a sip or two of the children milkshakes, stuff like that, but today it feels like the first time I ever did SW only better as I already know the plan so well[clap]
I have 9 weeks till my Florida holiday and I want to lose 2-3 lbs a week if possible, I am also going to step up my exercise now that my back seems to be improving - I think the extra walks this week have helped[sporty]
I want to beat my summer goal by an extra 7lbs if possible[msnoo]
Have a great weekend all in this gorgeous summer weather[msnsmile]
i can hardly believe that it's only 9 weeks til your hols Julie, that should give you a great incentive[msnsmile2]
i think that's been the main problem with me whilst it was in the run up to my hols i had a goal and could focus on that, but since coming back i've been all over the place, i feel such an idiot for letting myself slide so much into my old ways of eating but at least now i'm back on track and raring to go
marie
Food diary so far today..........
3 bananas
fresh fruit salad
skinny lattes HEA's
risoto made with mushrooms, peas, peppers and chilli
muller lite
lots of water[angel]
planned for later a HiFi bar HEB and some highlites with a cuppa 4 syns[msnsmile2]

Hi Marie
That sounds like a great idea! Mancheser or York would be better for me I suppose although the Midlands somewhere would be ideal.
Well done on your maintain this week[clap][clap]
how far are you from York Pam, i'm about 60 miles by road but under an hour by train, manchester and leeds are both a little longer train wise because of the route but still ok with me, the midlands? well i don't know, it would have to be by train for me and i'd ned a station to work out if it's do-able
but first we need to know who can come and when?
then we can organise a venue that would be fair to all of us
i'm thinking of these dates
any mid week day w/c 2nd or 9th July i'm ok for mon - fri[msnwink] lucky me [clap] would any day in these two weeks be suitable for you Pam?
Julie, Elaine, Julieanne, Fiona(a little far for you but will keep fingers crossed because it would be so lovely to meet you) and anyone else are you interested[?]

It would need to be a weekend for me Marie I'm afraid. It's quite a way to any of those places so would need to stay overnight somewhere. We live in Norwich. Sandra would be back by then also but she lives in Devon!!!
oops sorry i didn't realise you where so far away[msnsad]
Great idea Mizzy but it would have to Manchester or nothing for me I am afraid as I have no one esle to get the children, but would love a meet up!!!![msnsmile2]
Hi all
Been thinking about joining you for a while but wanted to wait until after half term![msnwink]
Managed to lose 10lb before our last trip to Florida last year but have since put it all back on ( & then some![msnembarrased]). Next trip to Florida is not until August next year which gives me plenty of time to lose the weight I need to. No excuses this time! DH has got so used to my failed attempts that he just humours me now! So moral support needed.
Do I understand right that you all belong to a slimming world club?
Forgot to ask...Would it be ok to join you?[msnembarrased]
it goes without saying that you'd be welcome Ali[grouphug]
the support on here is great and it's open enough to post freely whether you've had a good or bad week we'll be here to cheer you on and understand when the goings rough
welcome onboard[clap][clap][clap]
Julie manchester ok with me but may need you to suggest a place to meet and some help with "where to" once that train arrives
how does manchester suit anyone else thinking of coming along?

Hi Ali, as Mizzy says you are more than welcome, and Yes most of us attend SW clubs around the country and I am also a SW consultant in Cheshire.
Would you like to try SW? Its a great way to lose weight and still eats lots of food, Have a look at the web site http://www.slimmingworld.com/ and well done you have taken the first steps to a slimmer you[clap][clap][clap]

No probs!!! Lots of lovely places within walking distance of the station[msnwink]
not everyone goes to SW though Ali so although highly recommended and the sucess on here with SW speaks volumes as a recommendation[msnwink]
we WILL support you no matter which plan you decide to follow, WW, Healthy Eating or SW we are all looking and heading towards acheiving the same goals
to lose weight for whatever reasons that are important to ourselves[clap][clap][clap]
we posted quite some time ago about our reasons for wanting to lose weight and i'm thinking, perhaps we could remind ourselves of those reasons again ladies?
i'll start us off[msnsmile]
the reasons i want to lose weight are
to be a good role model and promote a healthy lifestyle to my children
to feel comfortable in my clothes
to walk with my head held high
and to improve my health
i've allready acheived a lot healthwise, my asthma medication is at the bare minimum and long term steroids are, fingers crossed, gone for good[msnsmile2]
canarypam
05-06-2007, 22:49
Here's my list:
To not feel constantly tired.
To hopefully be free of aches and pains.
To be able to pick my clothes instead of them picking me.
To not feel embarrassed or hide from people who haven't seen me for a few years because I have gained SO much weight.
Here's my reasons for losing weight.......
1. to be healthy and live longer as I had my youngest child in my forties.[msnembarrased]
2. to feel well and be able to exercise longer and run around and keep up with my children[sporty]
3. to look and feel good in my clothes[msnsmile2]
4. to look younger - losing weight and eating healthy takes years of you[msnwink]
Ali I second what Mizzy says we will support you with any plan you choose to follow but I think the season we all do SW is because many of us have tried lots of other plans and we know how hard it is and feel SW is one of the most healthy and easiest to sustain very long term - which is the key[msnsmile2]
Pegasus928
05-06-2007, 23:14
Hi Ali and welcome [msnsmile2]
my reasons for losing weight are:
- to feel better about myself - I need to do this for me
- to look and feel good in NEW clothes [msnwink]
- hoping that it will help with my back pain
- to feel generally more healthy and less tired
OK ladies now about this meet up
I would love to be there and although I could get to Manchester it would take several hours on the train so a lot of the day would be spent travelling. York or Leeds would be easier to get to for me. I can do 2nd/3rd/11th/ or 12th of July.
Elaine
Food diary for today...........
banana
skinny lattes HEA's
cous cous with toms and mushrooms
muller lite
potato omelette with olive oil HEB
strawberries and fresh pineapple
lots of water
for later hifi bar HEB
highlites 4 syns[clap][clap][clap][clap]
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome![msnsmile2]
I'm on a run now!
Looked up slimming world website for local group and found there was one today not far (WALKING distance[msnwink])from where I live. So have been & registered & got weighed.[msneek] So weigh day for me is a Tuesday! Lots to read & take in - it might take a few days to get the hang of it. DH will be gobsmacked when he gets home! Better finish off the Whole nut choc before he gets home!! :D
I too have tried and failed other diets, namely WW & CD. But I can't get away with the baby fat excuse any longer. YD is nearly 9![msneek] So here's to a new me - to be happier & more confident with myself, to look good in some smaller sized clothes and feel generally heathier and less tired. ( Tried tennis in half-term, not a pretty sight![msnembarrased])
Will let you know how tomorrow goes.
Thanks again[grouphug]
well done Ali, the hardest step is that first one through the door of your local class[clap][clap][clap]
any questions you have just fire away?
an invaluable tip i would give is to use free foods to your full advantage so you NEVER go hungry and to stay to class for image therapy no matter how good or bad of a week you may have had, if you've had a dreadfull week staying to class is vital, it's the class support that makes SW so successful
i see you've made a reasons list, i would suggest you make a copy and stick it up somewhere you can see it to remind yourself of why you're doing this[msnsmile] fridge door or biscuit/treat cupboard is a great place[msnwink]
foodwise for me today it's been good
as for exercise, well i hurt and have bottom ache, i've done 2X 1hr very brisk walks with Olly and now that i've had my bath i can really feel those muscles ache[msnembarrased]
food diary today was green
brekkie was toast and jam 1 slice 1syn
lunch roasted veg cous cous and quorn pieces
muller yogurt banana and pink cripps apple for snacks
tea my favourite sweet pot wedges quorn sausages and beans
supper was hi fi bar (healthy B)
todays syns 1[msnoo] but i've earmarked and frozen 4 small chocs at 2 syns each for later (frozen so they last longer)

Chilli & Butternut Squash Risotto recipe as promised for Martine.
1.5 pts veg stock
Fry Lightfor spraying
1 red onion peeled and finely chopped
2 garlic cloves " " " "
1 red chilli finely sliced
250g/9oz arborio or other risotto rice
150g/5oz butternut squash cut into 1cm dice
salt & freshly ground black pepper
30g/1oz Parmesan or Pecorino cheese finely grated
3 tbsp chopped flat-leaf parsley
1. Bring the stock to the boil in a saucepan over a medium heat. Meanwhile,
spray a large no-stick frying pan or saucepan with fry light, add the red
onion garlic and chilli cook gently for 2-3 minutes stirring occasionally.
2. Increase the heat to medium and add the rice to the onion mixture with the chopped butternut squash.
Stir in a ladleful of the hot stock.
3. Continue to cook in this manner, adding a ladleful of boiling stock as soon as each addition of
liquid is absorbed, stirring constantly. It is essential that the stock is boiling hot as it is added,
or the rice will not cook properly. Add the stock in this way until the squash and rice are creamy and al dente.
Season stir in the parsley and remove from the heat.
4. Ladle into warmed deep plates and sprinke with the cheese.
Cooks note: The absorbency of the risotto rice varies according to the variety, so you might need to add a little more
or less stock to obtain the correct consistency.

Hi all!
Not a bad first day.[msnsmile]Got in a bit of a muddle as to what was 'free' on a green day what was 'free' on an original day so ended up having to count my rice as syns![msneek] 11 syns in total today. Need also to get some sweeteners for my cuppa to get rid of my sugar syns, so hoping to do better tomorrow![msnsmile]
Wednesdays are always a long day as I help run a nurture club at work so don't really get a lunch break. [msnsad]But at least it doesn't give me chance to think about food too much![msnwink]

I have managed to lose 16lbs since February and so has hubby. Never lost weight ever before! We gave up alchohol in the week and started walking a lot every night. Also bought a juicer and juiced anything veggie and fruity together, very tasty, especially carrots and oranges together. It has quite an effect![msneek]. My son's imminent wedding was a big factor though in losing the weight. Martine
well done Marti on such a great loss [clap]
also well done Ali for getting through that first day so well[clap] got to ask with it being your first day, did you feel hungry at all? i'm hoping the answer was NO[msnsmile]
treat wise whatever you normally like as a treat don't deprive yourself and build it in to the plan using your syns[msnwink] if you'd like to post a food diary then go ahead and any obvious mistakes we'll guide you with
for me today i've gone green
usual brekkie and for the new ones that's wholemeal toast(2slices) and ginger jam using 2syns for jam
lunch was jacket potato with beans and chopped up quorn sausages in the beans
snacks for mid afternoon munchies where muller yogurt pink cripps apple and banana
tea was creamy spaghetti carbonara and i've got to say that this was totally gorgeous and it was all syn free using a HE A choice for my parmesan cheese (recipe below)
treats for tonight mini raisins 1.5syns
2 cadburys heros 5 syns
total syns for day 8.5[angel]
Creamy Spaghetti Carbonara (syn free on green, makes two large portions)
you will need
2 eggs
2 egg yolks
2oz quark
dried spaghetti
2 garlic cloves crushed
fry light
6oz chopped bacon (3oz = healthy b) or quorn style bacon
2oz parmesan cheese (1oz = healthy a)
salt and freshly ground black pepper
to make, it's a doddle and if i can make it then anyone can
in a bowl beat together the eggs and quark, season well and set aside
fry the bacon or quorn style bacon with the garlic until brown
cook spaghetti as per usual instructions, drain and add the bacon garlic and egg/quark mixture to spaghetti then toss well until spaghetti is well coated with the egg mixture
serve immediately with grated parmesan
i added mushrooms to my dish and i used the quorn alternative to bacon to save using a healthy B, and like i said earlier it was delicious[msntongue]
Julie, i managed to get some rissoto like above, i also bought a four cheese version can i ask you, do you know if this ones free too? the nutritonal details on the side are very similar to the mushroom one
Julieanne and Fiona hope you're both ok[msnsmile]

In answer to your question Marie, yes today I have felt very hungry this afternoon, so obviously haven't got to grips with it yet, and definitely haven't drunk enough water. Thank heavens for strawberries & bananas[msnwink]

I must admit Ali that for the first few days that I followed the SW plan I felt hungry too. It soon changed - must have been my body adjusting to a new way of eating.
I type up my food diary everyday on the PC so I can refer back to it if necessary.

Ali
just noticed that you had strawberries & banana today
you could try adding a crushed up meringue nest (2.5 syns) and a muller light yogurt - it's a much more filling - a bit like Pavlova SW style [msnwink][msntongue]
Elaine
Ali you should never be hungry on SW so if you are hungry you need to focus on free foods and eat! 80% of your daily intake should be Free Foods, 15% should be Healthy Extras and 5% should be syns[msnsmile2] Quorn and eggs are free on both days and eggs are a quick and easy 'free' snack, in your first week its good to test the power of the free foods and you will be eating more food than normal in most cases but still lose weight.
Please do post your food diary, not so we can catch you out in any way but if we see what you are eating we can give you valuable feedback and help you on your road to success[clap].............
The fabulously versatile egg is something often avoided by slimmers. Some restrictive diet plans and unhealthy eating regimes even instruct cutting out eggs altogether! It's no yolk!
With Food Optimising, eggs are a Free Food so can be eaten in unlimited quantities! They re packed with health-giving nutrients such as protein, vitamins A, D, E, and B and the minerals iron, calcium and zinc. They re the ultimate fast food, cheap and great for breakfast, lunch, dinner or dessert!
The possibilities are endless with Food Optimising (no eggs-aggeration!)
Quiche
You can make a really easy quiche using 3 eggs, 227g/8 oz very low fat natural cottage cheese, mixed herbs and seasoning. Fill your quiche with whatever takes your fancy salmon and broccoli, lean ham and tomato, or crunchy vegetables like pepper, sweetcorn and courgettes are just a few tasty suggestions. Bake in a flan dish for 30 minutes 190°C/375°F/Gas 5 until set and golden brown. Serve it hot with piles of vegetables or pack a slice or two into your lunchbox.
Egg fried rice
For a totally Free version of this classic Chinese dish, fry some chopped onions, mushrooms and garlic in a non stick pan or wok that s been lightly sprayed with one-cal oil spray. Add cooked rice, peas and Worcestershire or soy sauce. Pour beaten eggs over the mixture and cook over a low heat stirring occasionally for 5 minutes or until the egg has set. This is great on its own or with crispy Chinese vegetables such as beansprouts, pak choi and waterchestnuts. Chopsticks optional!
If you’ve tried poached, scrambled and dry-fried (all fantastically Free!) what about some of these other fab ways to enjoy eggs:
Mexican style eggs – using a deep frying pan, gently stir beaten egg, chopped peppers, tomatoes, onions and chilli together over a low heat until the egg sets in a scrambled/ omelette style. A spicy start to the day!
French toast – dip your Healthy Extra allowance of bread in beaten egg and fry using Fry Light. A great alternative to fried bread!
Tomato-baked eggs – slice a large beefsteak tomato in half horizontally, scooping out all the seeds. Break an egg into each half; season and bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes until the tomatoes have softened and the eggs are set.
Hope these help!!![clap][clap][clap]
Elaine and Marti very well done[clap][clap][clap][clap]
Green food diary for me............
strawbs and pineapple with nat low fat yog

skinny lattes HE A's
tomato risotto and baby toms
muller lite
veg chow mein with blue dragon sauce 5.5 syns

total syns 9.5[clap][clap][clap]
lots of [sporty][sporty][sporty][sporty][sporty][sporty][msnwink]
oops i left myself logged on all night[msnembarrased]
Elaine well done mrs on another great loss[clap]
Ali, if it's green you like and you are hungry then the ultimate comfort food has to be chips!!!!! YES CHIPS[msnsmile2]
here's how you do them SW style and you can have as many as you like as there free on green[clap]
cut your potatos into chips and bar boil for 6-8mins, drain and then give the pan a good shake to rough up the edges of the chips place onto tray and spray with frylight, you can at this stage add any seasonings you fancy (eg mixed herbs spices, some come ready to grind in their own grinders from tesco so worth investigating) then bake in hot oven til golden brown
adding beans egg and quorn susages to the chips will give you a whopper of a comforting meal
you can also leave the skin on a (weighed) baking potato and cook your chips as above and this would be classed as a healthy extra on a red day but for this you must leave the skin on
Marie
Mornng all, sorry been v busy, DH was away on business and I was holding the fort!
Well my diet is a disaster as I put on another ½lb, if I carry on like this I will have put on ALL the weight I have lost:(.
I think part of it is not being able to get as much exercise as usual with the elderly dog trailing behind meaning we can't a) walk as far and b) as fast.
So I must get my brain in gear as I do not have long until 4th August!!
Welcome Ali, we are all very friendly on here, even if some of us seem to have lost the plot for the past few months. Actually I have found it hard to get back on track since Christmas, and it's not that I put much weight on then, just I have found it difficult to concentrate again. I need to adjust my mindset - particularly as we go to Florida again on Monday for 16 nights, so it is going to be plenty of salads for me, and drag the gals out every night for a walk - no chance of them being up early morning!

Morning all
[grouphug][grouphug]Fiona.
A variation on SW chips that I have been having lately, Jersey Royal wedges [msntongue]
done exactly the same way, half or quarter the potatoes, par boil, spray with frylight and oven until golden
they are especially yummy with Sainburys Vegetable Chilli (canned) - and all free on a green day [msnsmile2]
I'm making myself hungry and I haven't even had brekkie yet. Got the grill on as I am going to have a Brunch - grilled bacon, HL sausages, mushrooms, tomatoes & french toast (thanks Julie [msnwink])
Catch you all later
Elaine
for you Fiona[grouphug] don't despair, you are doing great as you're still positive despite being aware of how you're struggling and you need a good slap on the back for recognising that and not going along the route of "oh well, i'm not doing too well so may as well give up", i'm another that's been struggling (since april for me )so i do know how frustrating it is[msnsad] but hang on in there mrs, we'll get there via the scenic route!
another version of the chips Elaine is to use a little marmite when roughing them up and you get sticky coated beefy chips[msntongue]
Morning all!
Thanks for all the wonderful tips & recipes! Will have fun trying them out[msnsmile]. Feeling really positive with all your support[grouphug]
Having a green day today, so far so good.....
brekkie - 1/2 grapefruit, 2 slices nimble wholemeal toast with scrambled eggs and an apple about to be munched!
Quite fancy giving those chips a go later, will let you know how I get on!
Have set myself an initial target of 1 stone weight loss by 1st August.
Ali that's great I will add you to our summer goals list[clap]
Fiona, [grouphug][grouphug][grouphug] as Mizzy says don't give up these things are sent to try us unfortunately[grouphug][grouphug] I like a few of us struggled since Jan/Feb and only now do I feel like I am back on track[grouphug][grouphug][grouphug]
I also like the JR chips and I love sweet potato wedges with extra lite mayo[msntongue][msntongue]

Hi everyone – sorry I’ve not been around much. Lots of stuff going on just now :(
Won’t go through everyone individually but well done to those who have lost and are staying on track with their food plans
To those like me who for whatever reason are not doing so great – don’t give up, we will get there!!!! I think I put on about 4 and half pounds in Florida but I’ve been all over the place with meals the last couple of weeks. I will get on those scales tomorrow and start again……
Hello and welcome to Ali [msnsmile]
What else do I need to catch up on??
Meet up?? Before I went away I was thinking I would mention a meet up when I got home. But due to other things happening I’ve not had chance to even think about it. I would love to meet as many of you as possible but it may be difficult to commit to a date for me just now. If I can make it, York or Leeds would be my preferences but could possibly make Manchester if that was the choice. For now though I will just have to see how things go...

Lots of new people on here since I was last here, so hello to you all[msnsmile2]
Not sure what my summer target is yet but I will add when I have thought about it.
Still going to SW on Thursdays but one week I have a loss and the next I put it back on again. No will power at the moment and it is so annoying as I know I can do it. Last October I got to my lightest which was 1 1/2lb off a 4 stone loss[clap]. I just need to get my act together[msneek]

Evening girls, well another not particularly good day, but I have given myself a good talking to and am back on track for tomorrow. I stop taking my tamoxifen on saturday so hopefully that will help too.
Am blitzing the house tomorrow, also having my hair cut, I would like to think I might get time to paint my nails over the weekend, along with the usual ablutions but I am not holding my breath!
I am getting my porridge oats out tonight with clingfilm over them so I have NO EXCUSES tomorrow morning!
Have a good day all.

Thanks Elaine. I think you are right.
Pam you need to be positive and plod on with the plan as it really is a life time thing and it really does work, with a little determination and effort you can reach that goal, you too Sally, remind yourself that you can do this and it won't be long before you are back on track with those losses happening each or most weeks, quite a lot of us are struggling at the moment including myself so your not alone[grouphug]
Julie, i've not set a summer goal but more of a year end goal, i would like to get comfortably into a sz 14 by the end of the year, i'm not concentrating totally on the numbers the scales are saying because when i gain or maintain it's getting me frustrated so i've decided to concentrate on upping the amount of activity and having more good days than bad ones, i'm going to re measure myself today too[msnsmile]
Ali, just a a quick question for you, did you weigh the tuna yesterday as a healthy B and the cheese as a healthy A? i would also recommend to buy sweetener to replace those sugar syns
foodwise for me yesterday
another green day
usual brekkie with jam (2syns)
pasta carbonara for lunch using 1 healthy A for parmesan, i can highly recommend this[msntongue]
stuffed peppers for tea

supper chopped banana topped with vanilla muller yog and crumbled ginger biscuit (3syns for the biccie)
diet ginger beer
total syns 6.5[angel]
also did 2x 1hr 15mins brisk walks with Olly[sporty][sporty][sporty]
Marie
oops forgot to say, Sally, it's so lovely to have you back [msnsmile]
and Fiona, have a great weekend you deserve it[grouphug]
Julie, page 99[msnoo] do you think we should start part 5 and get John to lock this one?
Hi all

Hello to Sally!
Mizzy, I weighed the cheese yesterday, but not the tuna as I thought that was a free food on a green day? Was about 1/2 tin as ED had the other half in her lunch. [msnembarrased]

I like Sally have been having a bad time just lately not helped by not being able to exercise my normal amount as I have recently had a cataract operation and it was not straight forward and it is still not right as I am probably going to have laser surgery as well.
I have decided to come back and join you all as last year when I was posting food diaries it worked for me. I need to loose 10-14lbs it get back into target or below. After class last night I came out really motivated as we were given an inspiring talk.
it's good to have you back Jill[msnsmile]
Ali, nothing to panic about tuna 113g canned in brine = 1 healthy B on a green day
tuna is a free food on red days
Marie
Doh!![msneek]
Had a look at my food diary and have swapped the cheese to HEA (previously not used) and put the tuna on HEB. So thankfully it still works[msnwink] Will have to re-read free food lists!

Julie please add me to the summer goal.
Although I would like to say 1 stone off I am going for 8lb, I will be happy with that and anything more will be a bonus.
Kept away from the biscuits at work and had a bbq last night with loats of salad. Off to a frinds party this afternoon, retirement/60th and both her and her sister are fantastic cooks so I know there will be lots of tempting things there but will try and be good.
Thank you for the welcome back and hi to Jill, we can do this Jill we did it before, see you Thursday for weigh in[msneek]

Pam I have sent you a dm[msnwink]
Its not as clear cut as that and is based on how much people weigh and how active they are too. but 14 syns is not an amount that is even in the manual, and its also a good idea to test how many syns work best for you[msnsmile2]
Started off yesterday with every intention of being good but then went to the party and the food was amazing[msntongue]. Will have to try and make up for it during the week.
I won't even bother writing down a food diary for yesterday[msnembarrased]
Just had bacon, dry fried egg, toms and low fat sausage made by DH, planning to have lamb shank with veggies and a couple of small jersey royals for dinner.
i was just gonna say the same to pam, Pam it's not up to the consultant to set out your syn level[msnmad] it's your choice to decide from the guideline given, some days you may need only 5 and others you may need 15 then there could be a time when you really do need to go flexible and allow yourself even more, the important thing is that the syns are there so you don't feel deprived and you can have your favourite treat or tipple, evidence shows that it is when we are deprived that we are most likely to give up and that's how SW came to have the whole ethos that nothing is a sin [msnsmile] it's why SW is so successful because nothing is deprived and YOU make the decisions [clap][clap][clap]
i mentioned flexible syns and probably got people wondering so i'll spell it out
flexible syns are when you really need those extra ones for example; a really really special occasion, you can then set a max level of say 50 syns for that one day and as long as you keep counting then you're still in control and still on the plan[clap] my consultant has made it very clear to certain members in my class that a regular weekly night out with the girls or a weekly date with a full box of celebrations does not count[msnembarrased]

Sally i had a rough day yesterday too but one bad day does not mean a bad week so stick with it, you can make a big difference before thursdays weigh in[grouphug]
my bad time yesterday started with dh having an accident at work, he is now laid up on bed rest for a few days as he seem to have badly strained his ankle[msnsad] so with food shopping day put on hold i haven't made the best of choices from the little food we still had in the freezer[msnembarrased]
today i will have to food shop all by myself and possibly with one child[msnscared] but needs must so will plod on and check in later

Smoked salmon salad and fruit
Lamb shanks, beans, asparagus and new pots - HEb
Fresh fruit
Martini and tonic - 4 syns
Glass red wine - 5 syns
