Hi Everyone,

Good to have you back Mizzy, glad you are feeling better.

Thinking of you Sheena, and Pat hope you feel better soon.

Weel, weigh in for me and Terry this morning. I lost 1lb [msnsad] and Terry lost 2lb. I know I should be grateful but I have done alot on the treadmill this week,(about 18K in all) and I went out running with the dogs and ED yesterday so lots of exercise. Still had a big loss last week so it evens itself out I suppose. Also I'm now down to pre xmas weight so I feel from now on I will actually be getting somewhere instead of just back tracking. Terry has worked hard to, been out on my bike every evening so he's doing well too considering he has done no exercise to speak of, ever!

Holiday getting ever closer so I'm getter ever more excited !!![msnsmile2]. (5 weeks and 6 days[msnwink])

As there are 10 weeks to Easter ( from my start dates last week) I have gone for an ambitious 2lb per week. So here goes and ... or bust[msnembarrased]

Sheena [grouphug] [grouphug] sorry to hear your news. Will be thinking of you on Wednesday. Take care - and don't be worrying too much about what you're eating just now, once this week is over you will be hopefully able to begin to think about getting back on track.

Mizzy, glad you got your cards and it's good to see you posting - glad you are home and on the road to recovery [grouphug]
Take it easy and good luck if you make it to class tomorrow

Pat hope you're feeling better soon too

Julie - I've replied to your dm and I got the envelopes Saturday, thanks [msnsmile]

I'm pleased to report a loss of 2lb this week.
Need to step up on the exercise regime and I'm sure i'll get there in the end. I am not thinking what I need to loose in total I think I'll just take a stone at a time.

thanks for asking, i'm doing much better today Julie, i still look rather scary, very yellow, blue and swollen around the eyes but it'll all be worth it, i'm allready feeling a big improvement in my breathing[msnsmile]

i am going to weigh in tonight, it's day 4/28 on the steroids and i'm hoping for either a stay the same or small loss, only time will tell

still on soups and porridge as throat is still a little sore, i'm having three bowls of oats so simple a day 2 as healthy B's and one as syns and then free or low syn soups and pretty much nothing else, i know this will not help with the weight loss as you do need to eat more but hope to be back on my normal food very soon

will check in later with my weigh in result

Hi everyone

How do I join this slimming group? Do I just post?

I joined SW at the beginning of October and to date have lost 15.5 lbs. I seem to be okay with the foods in UK as I can keep to what the brands are in the SW books, but I have spent 9 weeks (not all at once) in Fl.since joining and am in Fl. now having been here for 3 weeks and another 3 to go. I don't seem to be able to lose as much weight here yet try to eat similar meals that I eat in UK but of course the brand names are different and am never quite sure if I would be sinning, so try to avoid. Would just like a few ideas for more variety bearing in mind that I hate cooking so we eat out quite a bit in Fl. It is more the breakfast and lunches that I am bored with but need some variety. Would be glad of any suggestions including US branded cereal that I could have.

1 Shredded wheat with banana, non fat milk (breakfast)
3 Ryvita with either banana or 2 eggs (lunch)
Meat/chicken with salad and extra lite hellmans mayo (dinner)
Hi fi bar (afternoon)
Fresh fruit with cottage cheese
Apple
1 Chocolate snack a jack with camomile tea (supper)
Water

Hope this is okay to post this here - not quite sure though.

Thank you.

Hi Sandra welcome to the slimming pages ... and pages!! Just posting is how we do it, and how lovely to be in Florida at the moment, would love to be there now!

I either have eggs (omelette with baby toms & mushrooms or poached with slice or 2 of ham if red day) and then salad for lunch with either jacket pot & cottage cheese if green or prawns on the barbie if green. If we eat out for lunch I always have a salad, but for supper I eat what I want. At the villa that is usually meat/seafood and salad on red or pasta/rice for green days. I do sometimes try mix2match as that has worked quite well for me, but you have to watch the syns. I buy the bags of baby peeled carrots and munch those instead of crips or nuts with my cocktail - or 2;)!!

What I find out there is I don't get the exercise that I do at home as I walk the dogs every day here, so I try and get out either early in the morning for a walk or in the evening ... not always successful though!

Green day for me today, poached eggs on toast, marmite & cucumber sandwich for lunch with crudites of carrot & celery & baby toms, apple & banana and tomato pasta and salad for supper.

Thank you Fiona for some ideas. Do you think that Publix Multi Grain bread is okay - the one they bake themselves. I am keeping off bread most of the time and tend to do mostly red days. I have not got into the mix2match yet as normal red and green is enough for me to think about!! I think I have only had about 5 green days since October so I could do with a few more.

I will start trawling some of the other pages each day as I am sure there will be many ideas I can try.

It is really cold in Florida and we have the heating on. Down to freezing tonight but at least I was able to go walking a little bit today in the crispy dry sunshine (with 2 sweaters on I might add).

Thanks again.

Sandra

Hi Sandra and welcome, Yes you just post away, no joining fee here[msnwink]

Well done on your loss so far[clap][clap][clap] I would watch the multigrain bread as it may have syns but I will try to find out for you later[msnsmile]

The SW mag is a good source of ideas and when you are back in the UK I have some back copies I can send you[msnwink]

I do mainly green days now, I am not keen on meat, but I also use Quorn too which is free on both days, and like Fiona I like eggs so often have omelettes for lunch using 1 tbsn of olive oil which is 1 healthy eatra B choice[clap]

You may find green days easier in Florida as you can have unlimited rice, pasta, potatoes etc

Th web site has lots of ideas too http://www.slimming-world.com/ password this week is 'walking' so have a browse[sporty]

Good luck[clap]

Morning again everyone, well since my ealier post at 0551 I have been on the treadmill and have done 30 mins intervals training and 10 mins weights/press ups[sporty][sporty][sporty]

Sandra I found this on the SW web site...........Hovis Wholemeal Country Grain Bread, 800g thick sliced loaf 1 slice = 5 syns on both red and green days[msnoo]

Have a great day all!!!

Hi Sandra I was on the SW regime when I went to Florida in Dec and found it reasonably easy to food optimise there. There is usually a fish choice and you can always ask for veggies instead of fries in the restaurants and for salads with the dressings on the side so you can add it yourself .The Italian chains are good for green days if you choose th sauce carefully and try to avoid the creamy ones and go instead for the tomato based ones.
There is always a good supply of low fat yogurts and fruit in Publix so make smoothies for breakfast or if you go to a buffet breakfast at any time choose omelettes (Golden Corral will make them to suit). One good place againi for green days is Sweet Tomatoes on I drive they are basically a salad bar but with an great range plus they tell you what is in each one and have healthy options too as well as pasta dishes and chilli type.

Glad you are feeling a bit better Mizzy and well done Jan & Lee my wieghbi tomorrow- will see what has happened after all the stress of moving.

Hi everyone

Thank you Julie x 2 and Janny. Hope to get to know all your names before too long!!!!

I have been buying the yoghurts and the non fat cottage cheese from Publix as I like the CC with my fruit salad that I eat most days. I think it is lack of exercise in Florida as usually too hot - well, that is my excuse. Unfortunately I am not an exercisey person so walking or a gentle bike ride is usually the full extent of exercise.

I only eat the multi grain yesterday for the first time, and was a bit edgy about it so will give it a miss and stick with ryvita.

I have to stay 99% to the diet or otherwise it all goes to pot, so I rarely cheat. Fortunately I don't like alcohol even though we have a pub and restaurant in Devon!! I do enjoy my HiFi bar on a daily basis with a coffee at some stage during the day. I have a sweet tooth. From past experiences of dieting - I have been a yo yo dieter for years and years, but SW seems to give me more choices in a different way of doing things. I am still very motivated but still over weight.

Starting weight. 14th Sept. 06 12st 9 1/2 lbs.
Present weight 4th Jan 07 11st 8 lbs.

Height. 5ft. so plenty of weight still to come off!!

Thank you for the support.

Sandra

Pat M
30-01-2007, 22:26
sandra i think the best thing about SW is you can eat anything as long as you count the syns,so denying yourself isnt an option, so you dont crave forbidden food, i like you have yo yo diete for more years than i can remember and now left with more weight than ever to lose, but since starting to talk to the girls,(and now men) on here its helped me to find more determination than ever so much so i only gained 1 lb over christmas and new year, never been known before,
i am so grateful for their support
thanks julie for adding my 1/2lb on pat

Morning ladies (and gents)

Welcome to all of you newcomers, glad to have you on board!

Having an excellent week food and exercise wise so hoping for a good loss this week. Mind you totm for me, for the first time in 8and a half years due to having injections which I've now stopped having! Tell me ladies[msnwink], I know sometimes that when you have totm, you don't show much of a weight loss, does that mean you just don't lose weight or does it just show the following week?

Thanks,

Great read I love reading success stories.

I have been following the plan all week, things are still going very well.

Got a busy day planned tomorrow, my baby, Eve, is going to be a big 5, she has gone to bed soooooooooooooooo excited. Tomorrow after school we have a party bus coming which judging by the web site pictures it looks fantastic along with the bus is 22 little 4 and 5 year olds so I imagine it's going to be a fun filled time.

Shredded wheat with banana
Chicken with 3 ryvita for lunch
Tapila fish, sweetcorn and rice with small salad and Ranch Lite Dressing
Apple, fresh fruit sald with non fat cottage cheese

Sandra the food diary looks good for florida, the only thing i would say for a green day is watch those healthy B's there's possibly 3 in your diary chicken, fish and i think the shredded wheat/ryvita?

having three won't do too much damage you're looking at about 6 syns for an extra healthy B, remember to be positive and congratulate yourself you are doing fantastic to eat so well whilst you're out there[clap]

i just hope that with you posting these healthy food diaries all the way from sunny florida i'm not expected to do the same[msnembarrased]

good luck to anyone weighing in today

Evening all,

Not much to report really, another good day for me,

Brekkie - usual porridge and banana
Lunch - cous cous with red pepper, grapes, apple and pear
Tea - ham, mushroom, pepper and onion omlette
something else later maybe, see how I feel.

40 mins on treadmill this morning[sporty] and walk with the dogs just before tea.

Struggled a bit this afternoon, felt a bit can't be bothered, glad I was at work as I might of gone off the rails had I been near the kitchen[msnwink].

Managed to work through it though and feeling better now.

Hope everyones had a good day too,

well done Chris that's great news[clap]

Julie, i prefer green but when i'm struggling i do have the odd red day, i don't think it's the food itself, i think a change now and then can help to boost your metabolism, however my diet buddy can lose weight very quickly on red, when she tries, but has much slower results on green

lots in my class are green day eaters, most significantly a girl who lost 6 stone in the last year and she's vegetarian so only does green [msnsmile]

personally i think a variety of food is the key to any long term successful eating plan because once you take away the choices and restrict food it becomes obsessive and quickly goes into that circle of deprivation and then bingeing [msnsad]

i believe that it really is down to the individual on this

Mizzy

Well, I have to confess Wednesdays food plan didn’t go as it should have done
Due to a change of plans the chicken stir fry planned for evening meal was swapped for chicken pizza – felt very guilty afterwards but did enjoy it at the time [msnembarrased] [msnembarrased]
To make amends slightly I did go to the gym again

Thursday’s food
breakfast – baked beans on malted grain toast
lunch – my usual pitta
dinner – chicken stir fry
extras – grapes, banana, activa yoghurt, apple, about 8 pieces of panda liquorice, not enough water or other drinks – must put that right today

But despite my naughty pizza – I still lost another pound this week, that’s 4lbs now in total this year, I’ll update my loss on Julie’s list

Mizzy – glad to hear that things are improving for you, hope this lovely sunny day is helping too.

Have a great Friday everyone [msnsmile]

I have got back into my routine today at last and went for a jog -my treadmill is still under lots of boxes but we have a lovely trail that goes round lakes very close by so went round there really enjoyed it .

My word you have been busy talking. It has been hard keeping up with all.

Having a marvellous time out here. Been to the Gulf Coast for a few days and went to Sea World yesterday and really enjoyed it. We are off there again today as we didn't see it all with our friends.

Have not been very good food wise, still the scales do not look too bad, got on them the first day and again this morning and they show about 1-2 lbs gain. ONce our friends have gone I will be able to get back on track hopefully.

Just about to go for a swim before going off to Walmart to stock up with general supplies.

Well done to all the losses, you all seem on a roll. [clap][clap][clap]

I am trying red days for a while, but had to be out in Reading today and bought myself what I thought was a green salad with crayfish on it in Marks - when I got it home it had rice in it - so just going to work out the syn value of that, baked haddock and large salad for supper, will be watching DH eating his chips! I must say it was a bit strange eating meatballs in tomato sauce last night with salad and having to cook pasta for DH - cooked too much of course, but the dogs appreciated it with their supper tonight.

Am off out with the hounds for a second quick walk before it gets too dark - been a lovely day down here.

d i need to copy that whole list out to add my weigh day onto it because i havent a clue what to do if there is another way, i will be glad to copy it out if necessary,
getting back to red ang green days
i am better on red days and seem to lose more weight, ive seen me have an almost perfect week on mostly green and stayed the same i feel its soul destroying, but we were talking about this in class last night and although SW tell you syn value is free with pasta and potato etc limit the amount you eat, and i always eat too much with those just because they are free, an this could well be why i dont lose on green, so i have had a green today and limited the amount of food i have eaten, not too many chips at tea time and a pasta nsauce for lunch, so i will see how it goes this week. pat

How to copy and paste...............

COPY AND PASTE USING THE MOUSE
Put the mouse at the beginning of what you want to copy and click the left mouse button, holding it down while you drag over the section.

Drag across or down. At the end of what you want copied, let go of the mouse button.

What you want to copy should be highlighted!
(If you goof, click the mouse button once to unhighlight, then start over.)
While it's highlighted, hold down the Ctrl key and hit the letter "c". This copies the highlighted part to an invisible clipboard.

Now go to where you want to paste it. Put the cursor on that spot by clicking the left mouse button once. Now hold down the Ctrl key and hit the letter "v" to paste what you copied.

If you want to move text from one place to another, highlight the text then hold down the Ctrl key and hit the letter "x". Click on the place you want to move it to, hold down the Ctrl key and hit the letter "v" to paste it in the new place.
(This cuts it from the original place, copies it to the invisible clipboard and then pastes it in the new place.)

HIGHLIGHTING USING THE KEYBOARD
Another quick tip to make life easier is learning how to use the keyboard to highlight things.

Put the cursor at the beginning of what you want to copy by clicking there once with the left mouse button.
Now hold down the Shift key and use either the arrow keys, the Home key or the End key to highlight.

The arrow keys are self-explanatory. (Try it!)

Holding down the Shift key and then hitting the Home key will highlight from the cursor to the beginning of a line.
Holding down the Shift key and then hitting the End key will highlight from the cursor to the end of a line.

Now you know how to copy and paste!!!!![msnwink][msnwink][msnwink]

Hello Jan, welcome to the thread. They're all fantastic on here and have been the main reason for me losing 2 and a half stone since last March! I think I would have fallen off the wagon long before now if not for everyones suppot and motivation.[msnsmile2]

Well, another good day for me foodwise, I'm hoping for a good loss tomorrow although I will try not to be too disappointed if I don't. Mind you, I don't know what more I can do than I've done this week, so we'll see[msnwink].

I think I have mainly red days too Julie, I think it stems from years of brainwashing into thinking carbs are bad so find it hard to accept that I can actually eat them safely!

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend, will post tomorrow after my weigh in!

welcome onboard Jan, my weigh in is monday too so we'll be braving it together[msnwink]

i'm really, really hoping for a loss this week, i've been 100% with my food to compensate for the steroids i'm taking and i've increased Olly's walks, he must think he's in doggie heaven the amount of times he's been out over the last few days

i'm a green day person and do lose weight on green but a little slower than i would like, i could do more red but it would make me miserable and as long as there's plenty of variety and the weight is coming off then i'm ok sticking with my favourite foods[msnsmile]

Julie B good luck for tommorrow, will keep my fingers crossed for that dip under the next stone[clap][clap][clap]

Julie, glad to hear you enjoyed your tea, the cake sounds lovely[msntongue]

Hi Julie

We live in the market town of Tavistock and have a pub and restaurant which we have Managers running it, leaving us to spend quite a bit of time in Florida. Our daughter worked for BA 18 years ago, met someone on her travels and married him. She now lives in Paphos as he is half Greek/half Mancunian!!!!

Had a read of my SW book that I brought out to Florida and realised may be having one too many HEs so got back to writing diary yesterday and today. My Manager at the pub joined SW just after I joined, so there is a bit of a competion going on so I really need to lose before going home. I know she did not go to weigh in on Thursday, me suspects a glass of wine or two or three....

Am getting ready to go on my treadmill in a minute -trying it out in its new place -the garage then I will be able to face the world .

I have been reading the postings on this thread for some time now and have decided to pluck up courage and join in if I can ? I joined SW three weeks ago and have amazingly lost 13 1/2 pounds ! I can't believe it I have tried many many times before and failed. I need to lose at least 6 stones [msnsad] so as you can see I have a bit of a mountain to climb and need all the help and support I can get.

Hi Pamela

welcome onboard and congratulations on your weight loss to date [clap][clap][clap] like you i felt that i had a mountain to climb when i initially joined, it's quite scary at times but i would say try to break up a large goal into smaller ones, say 1/2 stone at a time this way you'll feel less daunted and find it easier to push forward when you are having a bad week or two

it's weigh in day for me tommorrow and i've got to say, hand on heart, i've given it 100% this week [angel] i'm rather afraid that i'll be gutted if the scales don't show a loss, i'm very bloated thanks to the little red pills[msnsad] but i have to be optomistic, i have worked hard for a loss and if the results don't show until the medication stops, then i am just going to have to accept that[msncry]

here's todays food diary and shock, horror! another green day for me

usual brekkie of wholemeal toast and ginger jam (2syns)
sunday lunch, quorn lamb style grills, roasted carrots, parsnips potatoes, mashed turnip and savoy cabbage, mint sauce (no yorks pud or gravy for me today)[angel]
yogurt and grapes to snack
tea is undecided as i'm still full from lunch but perhaps a small veggie omelette later
mini honeycomb bites 4 syns

3 mile walk with Olly earlier[sporty][sporty][sporty] nearly all uphill & through muddy, slippy fields, i definately deserve a loss this week, please..................?

Morning all

Well it has been a very hectic few days with vistors coming and going and lots of cooking for the 5 thousand!!

anyway upshot of all that was that I had a rotton weekend food wise and have now had to pay the dividends at weigh in - stayed the same! [msnembarrased] But then again at least it was not weight on so that is a bonus.

However back on track today and a I am off for a swim this lunch time to try and work off some of the excess.

Well done to those who have lost and hello to the new members [msnsmile2]

Well done on the weight losses everyone and good luck to the rest of you who weigh later this week.

Have not been to Publix to try the scales for over a week but am hopeful. Trouble is on those scales, they seem to be different all the time and at each different outlook. As long as I have not increased in size and weight at the end of my 6 weeks here in Fl. I will be happy.

Good afternoon all, yes it is still afternoon here. Just about to have lunch and then off to the airport to drop our friends off. Weather has not been good for the last few days, wearing jeans and long sleeves. Keep hoping it will warm up soon.

As far as food is concerned I am having mixed days, some good and some bad, but overall don't think things have changed much weight wise.

Well done to all those of you have lost, great news. I am not going to attempt to keep up with everyone who is new but welcome to all. Sandra, how much longer are you out here for? We do not go home until 26th Feb.

I have been in touch with Sally and she is OK and will back soon. I am sure she is pleased to know you are thinking of her and I will say thanks on her behalf.

Evening all, another ½lb off tonight, so 6lbs to go to Easter.

Saw Janny today and can tell you all she is looking fabulous, very slim and svelte. We met at a friends for lunch - mains were fine it was the "compulsory" pud that was not so good, so was quite pleased to have lost after that - although I only had a banana for breakfast thinking I had no idea what we would get for lunch.

Am going to go back to the gym, am enjoying my walks with the hounds more and more (better weather has helped mind you!) and feel I can start stretching myself more.

well done Tracey that's great news[clap][clap][clap]

Jan (blue moon) i'm gonna say this and you may or may not thank me for it but that looks a very small amount of food for yesterday, especially lunch, it may be that it's enough for you but if you are in anyway hungry and i'm hoping you're not, then i would say eat more free foods[msnsmile]

so far today i'm doing great

Olly has had a 3 mile walk in the crunchy snow up the fields

breakfast was 2 toast and ginger jam 2 syns
lunch was stuffed peppers
fresh fruit salad and yogurt for afters
snack attack mini organic raisins 1.5syns

for tea i'm thinking either pasta or SW chips[msntongue]

here's how to make stuffed peppers

cut peppers in half and scoop out insides
in a small pan cook some batchelors savoury rice according to instructions, add some chopped cherry tomatoes, spring onions, finely sliced garlic and small can mixed beans or baked beans, simmer until rice is just about cooked
stuff in peppers spray with frylight and bake for approx 20mins at 180

you can swap the rice for plain rice add your own spices and also swap the beans around, another nice alternative is to substitute the rice and beans for cous cous, the amount of mixture above will fill approx 6 peppers so enough for a family meal

Jan I have to agree with Mizzy and I remember her telling me the same thing over a year ago before I joined sw.

Helen your consultant would say the same I think, as you know she has lost a huge amount of weight eating mega bowls of pasta[msnwink][msnwink]

Try to have a proper lunch and you will find you will lose more weight without being hungry[clap]

Well, here goes again.......... Realy sorry have not been around lately. Too much going on at home and not very motivated![msnsad] Luckily, I have stayed the same, which I am very pleased with as I have not been following any healthy eating programme. I did put on a lb but it seems to have disappeared. I am off to stay in our Villa Friday, (weather permitting, hope the forecasted snow doesnt cause too much disruptions), for 2 weeks and will try not to go too OTT with the eating.

Feeling really sad to be having to leave our lovely Lily in the kennels as she is only 8 months old, but have walked her past the kennels several times in the last few weeks and she has had a good look around inside yesterday[msnsmile][msnscared].

Welcome to all the newbies and well done to everybody else, you all seem to be doing so well[clap]

I promise that when I return that I will try a bit harder to contribute and will look for a class that fits in with dd's activities.

I will keep my Easter target the same for now, 7lbs, but that may be a bit optimistic[msneek]

Good luck to all for the next 2 weeks, keep up the good work.

Marie's views on why you should use those syns

think you could miss out the syns and lose weight quicker? YES then think again, the answer to this one is a resounding NO!!!!!!

the science part first is that eating a variety of foods kicks the metabolism into action and helps us burn fat and lose weight, depriving yourself of foods and limiting to the extreme has the opposite effect and actively encourages the body to store fat for what it thinks is a famine ahead

syns are there for a reason, imagine every other diet you've been on where certain foods are forbidden[msnscared] and imagine your life, long term without the odd chocolate, glass of wine, ice cream etc, etc, now ask yourself truthfully if you where told at the begining, no chocolate or wine (or your favourite must have food) is allowed at all, would you feel positive that you can follow a diet where foods are banned and still reach target and the biggie question is could you maintain a lifestyle to keep you at target without your favourite foods?

being the "weigh in" lady at class i've heard it all and i have come across many a person who thinks that by not eating syns they are actually going to lose weight faster and reach that target quicker, yes i admit you can do this for a few weeks and i've seen it done but i've also seen the same ladies a few weeks further along totally miserable and thinking of quitting because they cannot resist the foods they have seen as being bad for them and have been trying to exclude to the point where they are obsessed by the item, it's easy to say "i'm not eating ___________? anymore" but reality is that by saying and doing this you set yourself up to fail[msnsad]

everyone needs to feel in control and not feel a failure for having the odd glass of wine or bar of chocolate and that's where those syns come in to play, they are there for a reason, they help us stay in control and take away those forbidden, obsessive messages that can easily begin to control how we feel around food, we have the choice to choose and if you want to eat something others may see as naughty then that's why SW called them syns, it was their tongue in cheek way of saying yes, yes, yes i can eat this and still lose weight[msntongue][msnsmile2]

having the feedom to choose is a wonderful feeling and most certainly the key to long term success

[clap][clap][clap][clap][clap][clap]

i think that is great mizzy, we put ourselves under so much pressure to get the weight off and it ends up working in reverse because we give up on our plan,i made a promise about 2 years ago that i would never stop going to SW and im not bothered how long it takes to lose weight i will continue to go, and when events come along, holidays and christmas, etc i make the best choices i can but if i eat more than i should, SO WHAT, i will get over it, and consequently in the last 12 months both on holiday and christmas my weight gains at those times have been less, than ive ever put on before. the only time i get dispondant is when know i have had an excellent week and i feel i deserve to lose and i dont. but i just talk to myself and start over again the next day here is me rambling again i dont know when to stop do i pat

Mizzy your post on syns is so true i for one think that by not having any syns you will lose quicker but it just doesn't happen. In the past i had no syns but more importantly no vodka when out on a saturday night - result was a maintain how gutted was i. I tend to have 5 syns or below during the week and use my full limit on a saturday (and more[:P])

evening everyone,

Day of school today due to snow, and I'm told tomorrow too![msnsmile2].

Been sledging with the children today, that'll of helped and boy do I need help this week. I've been [}:)]. I think it started badly with a sore back which started last friday so I gave the treadmill a miss monday and thats where it all started to go wrong. Its only today that my back feels almost normal so I think I'll start again on the treadmill on Monday and try to do damage limitation until then! I can't believe how easy it is to slip into bad habits when I was so focused last week. Never mind, tomorrows another day as they say!

The snow here has been lovely today though, we bought a sledge at xmas in the hope that we might get to use it someday after many a year making do with bits of plastic or plant trays, and it certainly got its use today! Although I was very nervous for the children as its only 4 weeks till our holiday so I really don't want anyone in plaster for that!!

Well done Mizzy for your great loss and especially well done to you Julie for reaching your target, you deserve it so much,[clap][clap][clap]. Well done everyone else whos doing better than me![msnembarrased]

Julie B, remember how far you've come and don't let a little slip up spoil it for you we all have our bad days [grouphug]

yes Pam i am in smaller sized clothes but for me i still don't see that much of a difference, there's another girl in my class who's lost just under 6 stone and funnily enough she doesn't think she's changed that much either, like me she still has a few extra stones to lose so i'm thinking that may be why i cannot see it

i've been a busy bee today, doing what i do best................... spending money[msnsmile2]
i have bought lots of lovely goodies from boots online and a few things from debenhams... shhh don't tell the husband but he's getting a special valentines treat[msnwink]

i've also booked and paid online for our parasailing, we have had to go to cocoa beach for the parasailing, disney have still not come back to me[msnsad] and we can't wait forever, we're going for 800ft high tandem parasail and you get approx 12-15 minutes up in the air[clap][clap][clap]

food wise, not perfect but still good

usual brekkie of toast and ginger jam 2syns
pasta, quorn pieces, mushrooms, peppers and red onions with honey and mustard dressing 2syns
mini honeycomb bites 4 syns
sweet pot wedges, qourn sausages and sweet chilli beans for tea
ww banoffee pudding 8syns[msnembarrased]

so more syns than i was expecting total for the day = 16[msneek]

Have updated my profile below to give new target and loss to date.
Am having friends around for supper again tomorrow -new house they all want to see it and they can't all come at once here ! This time it has to be good as it is a friend who believes all my weight will go back on in record time and that I live on lettuce leaves !So amplanning on doing the lamb shanks from the latest mag for them with lots of nice veggies -do you think that will convince her it is "a diet -but not as we know it"? [msnsmile2]

Just have to find a spectacular pud now to add the final touch.Any ideas anyone?

I have just come in from my run it was a lovely one too all through local widlife parkareas so saw lots of ducks and squirrels on my way .
Had my usual breakfast of porridge with lots of fruit and will have sw carbonara for supper so its lunch I have to think about next.

mornng all, our consultant last night read out a poem, which i think from time to time we can all relate to, i dont remember it word for word, but it described an ordinary day for us slimmers and the jist of it was, it doesnt matter. All the little things that we put in our mouths that we dont count in syns, from a crust of bread, one of the kids sweets,an extra slice of cheese, etc, etc, and the list in the poem added up to 20 + syns so that on top of the ones you count, it isnt any wonder we dont know why we havent lost as much as we had hoped. so i have got myself a food diary, and also a piece of paper to write down EXACTLY what goes in my mouth, and how i feel each day when i have resisted temptation, and the proof in the pudding will hopefully be on the scales next week. hope this helps anyone who is maybe like me losing slowly. pat

Long story but I didn’t manage to get weighed this morning - might hop on the scales tomorrow or more likely I’ll wait until next Friday.

I really think I need to look for somewhere else to work as there is way too much temptation in the office I work in.
Yesterday I resisted while everyone around me ate breakfast paninis, and again at lunch time when someone made a trip to the chinese and came back with chips, fried rice and curry for five of them followed by donuts!!!!!
Today it was toasted and buttered muffins all round for breakfast and then they decided on kfc for lunch. And a massive gorgeous looking carrot cake is waiting to be eaten this afternoon. I sat and ate my chicken and sweetcorn relish sandwich both days feeling proud of myself for resisting but it’s getting harder as this temptation is put in my path every day at the moment.
I just don’t know how they do it [msneek]

And now I’ve got the weekend to contend with [msnoo]

Well done losers [clap] we have had lots of good losses over the last two weeks haven’t we?

Have a great weekend everyone [msnsmile]

you've been an angel to resist all that Julieanne[clap][clap][clap]

i remember only too well the treats and goodies that get passed around the office, we used to have cream cakes for someones birthday and that was practically every week[msneek] and then the boss would suddenly take everyone out for lunch with little or no notice you'd be sat in a very expensive restaurant surrounded by temptation

now i have another set of problems being a stay at home mum, all day access to a huge american style fridge freezer, i can just about cope if i to remember to fill it with the right sort of goodies[msnwink]

have a great weekend Julieanne, be good[angel]

Well done Julieanne its so hard in an office[msnsmile2]

I had a lovely compliment today from - wait for it - the lady at Thorntons, I took my 5 y/o to the Trafford Centre, I had my usual skinny latte and Lucy had a icecream from Thorntons which we do on a regular basis and the lady asked how much weight I had lost and how fab I looked[msnsmile2] I was really chuffed as it came from someone I hardly know and yet she noticed[msnsmile2][msnsmile2][msnsmile2]

Off to a SW Team Meeting tonight so catch up later, but food diary so far ........

banana
cottage cheese and pinapple on toast 2.5 syns
skinny lattes x 2 HE A's
sweet potato wedges with extra low fat mayo
water[angel]
