Hmmm.
I want to post my trip reports as and when they happen when we're in Florida. I was going to compose, then post them every couple of days.
It's been so long since I've used dial up, will it be very slow and should I wait until I get home to post them?

The problem with downloading the software is that we've had quite a few people report then having probs with their PCs afterwards so that's why we advise not to download it, just in case. There's nothing worse than being in Florida with a PC that won't work!

I had problems with my PC when I was last in Florida, Funny that Its only happened to me, none of my guests have complained about it since. It was something to do with the Norton Go-back which protects the system, Its all ok now though.

It's worth giving it a go over there. I don't find it too slow but then I have dial-up at home so nothing better to compare it with.
I have used Walmart and AOL. I had a bit of hassle getting out of the aol contract and getting it all off my computer.

I used the budget dial up when we were there in November and found it was good enough for what I wanted , just to answer my e-mails ( I would hate to have missed any ! ) and to make a few quick visits to the forum.

I also use BDU on my laptop in Florida. Did not find it too slow but you use minutes up if you compose emails or post to this forum while on line(especially if you are slow at typing). Had to get back into dial up mental mode and just compose everything off line then go back online to send everything. Worked for me fine. As for posting trip reports, why not write up the report in Word, or any other word processing package, then copy and paste it to post on the forum when you are on line. That will save your precious paid for minutes and you can spend more time browsing the forum.

Thats what I used to do here before we had broadband, wite the e-mails leave them in the out box then connect to send them.

We did not have internet last time we were over and had to use the UPS store. at 20 cents a minute it is not going to break the bank, but come onto the forum for half hour, then answer emails, it soon adds up.

Pat,
What option did you get? I buy the $9.95 Monthly 120 hours/30 days option, then you don't have to worry about the minutes[msnwink]

Paul, being a bit if a Scrooge, I use the $9.95 for 20 hours and I think I either have 12 months to use it or it's open ended. Deliberatly did not go for more hours as I want to spend my holiday doing things other than sitting at the computer. I know what I'm like when I get started!!!
