I've had this round it looks as thogh it could be unusual-I bet it's far better watching it in Florida though![msnsad]

This email is sent around time and time again. Every time one of the planets happens to be near us it does appear brighter than usual, and often as bright as the moon. But the fact is, it looks no larger than usual so is not particularly spectacular. The emails that come round make it sound like the planet in question will appear as big as the moon, and this is not at all true (pity as would look great!)

I'd imagine that if Mars appeared in the sky, the same size as the moon, we'd have a tidal problem...[msnscared]

I saw an eclipe of the moon this morning in florida!!

The Eclipse was a big event here in the USA, as it's not often you get a total eclipse. I believe it wasn't visible from the UK.
