What is the biggest bargain you have picked up whilst shopping in Orlando??
A few years back, I bought a pair of Nike Air Shox as a Christmas present for my mum - $49.99, when the RRp was $219.99!!!

I don't know whether you'd class it as a big bargain but every time we go to Orlando my wife stocks up with little spectacle cleaning wipes because they are a fraction of the cost in the UK.
Bizarre?? Yes I suppose it is and I've often wondered what the customs would say.

My Mum always gets Carmex lip balm...loads of it because it's only 90c or so but about twice the price here...
I got a nice winter jacket in Guess reduced from $108 to $39 this trip. I assume they'd be the equivalent in GBP over here so approx £20 is pretty good. No use in Florida but very welcome at present :)
We also got a couple of bargains on the last day, even though we'd decided to stop shopping!!, reduced 75% on the already sale prices. A nice pair of ski type gloves for about $2 and a light jacket for $4 from Old Navy....

I picked up a leather Jacket in Timberland reduced from $500 to just under $100. This was in the Thanksgiving days sales in the premium outlet. We bought loads in the Timberland shop, shoes were $30, jumpers $15, T shirts $6 and i also bought a Timberland Divers watch reduced from $200 to $39.
A pair of Van shoes for my daughter they were moving shops a bargain at $5 she ended up with 4 pairs.
A Guess handbag and purse for our daughter cost us $79 and could not believe it when i saw the exact same in town for over £200 [msneek]
Would have to say the Nike Factory Store.
Just this Xmas bought 2 pairs trainers for the eldest daughter 2 x pairs for Jane my wife and 1 pair for our youngest, Gym Shorts x 2 for me and Jane some Gym clothes. $198.
Wouldn't even like to consider how much we would have paid in England. Come to think of it, can't remember the last time we bought trainers here, we always stock up while over at the Villa.

Bob,
If you have an Aldi store near you they sell boxes of these wipes for around £1.50 for 100. Contact lense cleaner is also very cheap in Florida.
When I was on the fringes of the County squad at ten-pin bowling, I bought a pair of Dexter SST IV shoes with interchangeable soles. Black and silver, you needed sunglasses to see then clearly!
$35 at the Dexter shop of I Drive against £110 in the UK. Should have bought more.

mines a bit sad i think[msnembarrased] i went to walmart and found lots of fabric for my dolls house hobby, loads all lovely folded and marked down to 58c, practically giving it away!! i brought lots of it and looking forward to getting it next trip,
also bought furniture for my dolls house $23 in florida here its £23 bargains except i have to wait so long before i can find more bargains!
well rather suprisingly i didn't really do that much shopping, but i did get my daughter two pairs of scholl shoes at around $12 a pair for leather, wide fitting shoes i was mega impressed and wish i'd bought more
my son was also kitted out in a formal suit with matching shirt and tie just like daddies for under $30
i was a bit in awe when it came to the shops with it being my first visit, but this next trip i'll make up for what i didn't buy the first time[msnwink]

Practiclly everything I buy is a bargain in my eyes! I really grudge spending the cash back in the UK when I know I can get it way cheaper in the US, still spend it though.[:P]
When in Toronto I bought a pair of boots reduced from CAD50 to CAD3.
I have been happily wearing them for the past 2 years[msnsmile2]
Over the years I have bought so many bargains I can't even remember them all, everything from headache tablets to lap tops, when I was flying to New York twice a week I even did my food shopping every week there[msnwink]
Ink cartridges for our printers back in the UK, they are so much cheaper in Florida. Peanut butter is another thing that comes back in vast quantities plus loose diabetic chocolate for my sister which I get in Richard's Shops (don't know if they are in Orlando area) apparently the chocolate is far superior to that available in Thornton's.
My best bargain was getting a pair of jeans for my middle daughter and a zipped sweatshirt for youngest daughter from Gap for $10 for both[clap]

we love Gap, so ridiculously cheap!
Trainers are always a good buy -and designer handbags, and another good one is Nail Varnish - Revlon and Orly both cheap,
I fetch all kinds of things for people - elasticated waist jeans are a popular request, and my Son always buys timberland boots and lots of designer clothes -we got him a pair of G-Unit jeans for $23 and saw the same pair the other day in TK Maxx for £49!!
I always fetch a quantity of Sugar Free products for my Dad also.
A firend of mine has to stock up on a special body lotion her uncle uses for dry skin that she can't get in UK any more -and everybody DO NOT FORGET the MELATONIN to combat Jet lag!!

In Toronto a few years back, I manage to pick up an American Eagle parker (sp??) jacket dor CA$100 (about £40 at the time. The euivelent in this country would've been roughly three times that.
It proved handy as well, as it was -15 degrees at the time!!
Got a great coat a couple of trips ago from Ross. It is a Kenneth Cole coat and had an RRP
of $279 printed on label. Ross marked it down to $29.99. My sister in law who lives locally suggested I came back the following day as Ross have a 10% discount for over 50s. so I actually paid about $27 for it !!
Wonderful shop, Ross (and Bealls, and Walmart, and Target.....and Burlington....and Old Time Pottery....and...... !!:D)
Craziest thing I buy there is water filters for our American style Samsung fridge in the UK. Filters here cost £49 !![msneek] same filter in
Home Depot is $14 (about £7.50 !![:O])
Glad you mentioned the water filters Kevin, will have to stock up for our fridge here.

We've bought prescription glasses, once from Lenscrafters and on our last trip from the Walmart in-store opticians. Half the price of what we would have paid in UK. Have had no problems with them, but Asda opticians here in UK would provide customer service if necessary. Hoping to get prescription sunglasses on forthcoming trip.
My advice would be to order them at start of holiday as they sometimes have to be made off-site, although Walmart would have shipped them to UK address. Fortunately mine were made quicker than expected and arrived on morning of our departure!

Our best bargains have been the usual clothing (Timberland boots at $40 £120 over here, Levis 501's at Macy's $34 less the 11% card, and a lot of clothes from Vanity fair and Gap at Lake buena vista). until i discovered the Bose store! I purchased a Bose Soundock and an ipod mini for about half the price! My hand luggage was very heavy that year[msneek][msneek].

We bought a Bose docking station for an IPOD this time and it plays fine over here !

The docking stations work ok, it is the cinema surround stuff that doesnt work over here which is such a shame as the saving is £1000s!! You cant multiregion the DVD player, we have been through all the different forums offering hacks, we even took one into the bose shop and they let us fiddle about trying to get it to work!! They said they had never known anyone to do it. Of course it didnt work. Another problem is the voltage, we could use a switching unit but again have read that a background buzzing noise can be heard, so this would be no good. We have had to bite the bullet and pay a rip off UK price which was roughly double the price for the same unit.
OMG...my bargains peter out into insignificance....apart from trainers:D
So, please can anyone tell me how to get to the Lake buena vista factory outlets...I hear they are fab, but have never found them!!! [msnscared]
We're staying on H27 @ Westridge.
I really must do some SERIOUS shopping this yr![msnsmile2]
Oh, hubby is into military stuff and we found an army surplus place on Orange Blossom trail, just north of sand lake rd, which sold de-activated, hollowed out hand granades as paper weights. We bought some for friends as gifts....they were well impressed![msnsmile2]
There was no problem getting them thru customs cuz we dismantled them and showed what they were when we got to the check-in desk. They went into a 'secure' bag, separete from the other luggage.
However, the dopey mare at the desk informed security what was coming, but said, and I quote " don't worry, the customer HAS pulled the pins out" D'oh![msnscared][msneek][msneek]
Well, what can you say.....!

LBV factory outlets are in SR535. Have a look on WWW.SEE-OrlandoFlorida.com click on maps and Kissimmee, the maps are quite small but they have a zoom in tool. You need to zoom in at mile marker 11 to 12 on US 192, where it says Cattleman's is where the 535 starts. The factory outlets are up that road on the right roughly where the 535 sign is on the map. If you carry on past those outlets you will come to Orlando Premium Outlets just by Little Lake Bryan.
When you're out at the restaurants look for the give away magazines most of the large ones have maps with all the shopping centres listed locally. The best I've ever found is called Orientation, it's has a pink cover and is sometimes in the metal boxes around the parking areas. Hard to describe but they're boxes on a pole similar to where you would get a newspaper.
Hope that helps you [msnsmile2]

We bought a 37" LCD TV from Walmart on Black Friday last year for $500. It was not just the fantastic price compared to the UK but the fact that we were in Walmart at 4 o'clock in the morning waiting for the biggest bargins of the year. I could not believe that I was there at that time[msneek]
