Dida’s Wine & Tapas Lounge
This is located in the front of the old Victoria theatre in Devonport. It has stylish surroundings with tasty treats and a good wine list. It is an ideal location for a drink and tapas prior to doing something else with friends.
Freddy' s Ice House
Auckland’s ‘coolest’ bar where customers need to wear Ugg boots and coat to enter the bar. This bar is similar to other around the world with everything from the walls to the glasses made out of ice.
Flight Lounge
Flight Lounge described itself as one of the best nightclubs in Auckland. This club has a modern interior design with a vibrant atmosphere. You can dance the night away here much like many other places.
The Fox
The Fox is your typical sports bar but with a love of cricket. The atmosphere is good even if you do not like sports. You can come here for lunch or dinner, either way you will not regret your choice.
The Sugar Club
Take the elevator 53 floors up and you will find this bar with a stunning view. Try one of their delicious cocktail with an exclusive New Zealand twist. It’s not cheap but then the view is worth it.
Brew on Quay
Brew on Quay was opened by three close friends with the focus on a friendly atmosphere, good food and the best brews. The decor in every room is different with influences from around the world. They did this because they want everyone who visits them to feel at home.
Cassete Nine
Cassete Nine has multiple personalities, during the day you can come and grab a burger or a hot dog. At night it turns into one of the party places in town with both DJ´s and local bands playing.
SHOPPING
Auckland has a varied array of high street fashion, local designers, house wares, crafts and eclectic markets to explore. You should note however that the Karangahape Road is widely known and abbreviated to K’Road, so remember this when getting directions.
High Street, Vulcan Lane & O’Connell Street Areas
High Street and the shopping area known as Chancery, are home to many fashion boutiques and designer stores which includes Karen Walker, a famous Zealand fashion designer. The area, which also encompasses Vulcan Lane, O’Connell and Lorne Streets, is popular for trend spotting and streetwear shopping.
