Café culture is where you sit back and relax over a coffee or a tea and watch the world go by. This seems to be taken to a new level in Auckland´s many inviting cafés. Unique cafés are dotted around the town so you will easily find one when you are craving for a hot beverage or something sweet, like a fresh baked cake.

Dunk Café

Dunk Café is a fabulous café with wonderful coffee and delicious food and it is local favourite for breakfast, lunch and brunch. It offers a very tasty range of pies, flans, soups, and salads, plus all the sweet things you could want to go with your coffee.

Paneton Bakery & Café

Paneton offers baked goods, full breakfasts and coffee drinks which are available for sit down or take away. It is a stylish bakery/café and is well known locally for supplying top quality freshly baked bread.

Verona Café

Verona Café is a popular, trendy café with excellent nibbles and an inner-city vibe. You will find different types of menus here, for breakfast, smaller dishes, larger dishes, side salads and sweets. There is something for everyone to enjoy at this café.

Dizengoff

Minimalist in design this café specialises in breakfast. However for lunch it has a diverse menu of char-grilled vegetables, bagels and Jewish salads. The quality must be good as it always seems to attract a crowd of locals.

Rosehip

This is a trendy breakfast and lunch café serving Allpress Espresso coffee. Rosehip is located opposite Parnell RoseGardens and is a very popular café among the locals.

Richmond Road Café

Superb coffee and a variety of breakfast and lunch options make this a busy café. It is very popular amongst the local Ponsonby and Grey Lynn residents. In addition you can find freshly squeezed juices and frappes on the menu as well as beer and wine for those that want something else with their lunch.

Takapuna Beach Café

Takapuna Beach Café has just the best location by the beach front and this is just the beginning. This north shore café specialises in good coffee and elegant brunch options. The menu features delicious dishes like grilled squid, tuna burger and also offers smoothies. If you are going to the beach then you should plan on eating here.

BARS & NIGHTLIFE

Kiwis are a relaxed, friendly, fun-loving people, and relaxing with a drink is an integral part of the culture. It does not matter what you are looking for, an intimate place for a quiet conversation or a lively festive atmosphere. You can find everything here in DJ clubs with every type of music every night of the week.

Bacio Bar

This is one of the most popular nightclubs in the whole area and drink prices are reasonable.
