DINING
As one of the world’s biggest suppliers of sardines, fish features heavily on the menus of Agadir’s restaurants. From freshly grilled sardines to fish tagine, the local cuisine draws its inspiration from the fruits of the sea.
There are three main areas to choose from when it comes to eating out in Agadir.
The first is the beach area; this is where many of the restaurants are located. You also have a big choice of many different types of food. The new Talbourjt area is one of the cheapest places to go for food. There are also the Uniprix restaurants which are for both tourists and locals.
La Scala
This is located right on the seafront. This restaurant is known for its mouth-watering seafood dishes. The atmosphere is refined but still relaxed and the staff are efficient and professional.
The Fish Stalls
If you want an authentic Moroccan dining experience then head down to the port. Here you will find that there are a number of stalls selling excellent fresh fish dishes at low prices. One of the most popular dishes in Agadir is the Fish tagine and this is the place to try it.
Little Norway
Little Norway is known for serving food of very high quality and also in large portions. The prices are still reasonable and the staff are friendly. Despite what I have said about fish their speciality is the fillet steak and this is the place to go if you like meat.
Le Parasol Bleu
This restaurant can be quite hard to find as it is tucked away from the promenade. However it is well visited and very popular so it’s worth seeking out. The menu offers the normal wide range of dishes of fish and meat. The wine list includes some nice wines at very reasonable prices.
Riad Villa Blanche
If you are looking for fine dining in a romantic atmosphere, head to Riad Villa Blanche. The professional waiters serve beautiful and impeccable Moroccan dishes in a quiet and exquisite setting.
Le Jardin d' Eau
When you eat at Le Jardin d' Eau you have choice were you eat your meal. You can enjoy it either on the outside terrace or inside a stunning dining room. They serve traditional Moroccan and French food all made from organic and locally produced ingredients.
Restaurant Le Quai
This restaurant is located in the marina and serves both international and Moroccan dishes. The staff are friendly and the ambience relaxed.
Restaurant Scampi
Restaurant Scampi is located in the city centre of Agadir and offers a wide array of traditional Moroccan dishes.
