Top Restaurants in Puerto Vallarta continued:-
La Palapa
You will find them at 105-3 Calle Pulpito, Los Muertos Beach, Colonia Emiliano Zapata, Puerto Vallarta. The food is great and the menu includes a wide variety of dishes including salads, fish, pork, seafood, chicken, and steak. The pepper-crusted yellowfin tuna is one of the specials that has seen the test of time as it is always popular. The service is very good most of the time but occasionally the restaurant can get very crowded and when this happens the service quality drops a little. La Palapa is right on the beach and enjoys unobstructed views of Banderas Bay, Los Muertos beach, and the Los Muertos pier. When it opened in 1958, La Palapa was the first restaurant on the beach in Puerto Vallarta and the furthest construction south of downtown. It was designed and built to try and capture the relaxed, tropical ambience of the area during the 1950s. In 1987, it was redesigned, bringing in a more modern look while maintaining the relaxed, tropical paradise ambience it is known for.
Ocean Grill
You will find them at Playa Colomitos, near Boca de Tomatlán on Banderas Bay.
The food is fantastic and they specialise in fresh seafood. The shrimp, the fish which is the catch of the day and the french fries are really amazing. The restaurant is small but very well staffed, so the service is good and very personal. Alfonso, the owner, is always on site greeting customers and making sure everyone is getting top service and enjoying their experience. The views simply do not get any better than this with panoramic vistas of the ocean, the jungle and Colomitos beach which is a small isolated sandy beach with a creek and a waterfall. This restaurant is the definition of a tropical paradise. The best way to visit is to start at Boca de Tomatlán, here you make your way to the pier where you get on a boat. This takes you on a short ride along the southern coast of Banderas Bay to a small cove. The restaurant juts out from the rocks only a few feet above the water. The boat docks at a small pier where you disembark and make your way to the restaurant. When you arrive at the restaurant you are greeted by fantastic views. You are shown to your table and given a moist, cold towel to freshen up. After your meal, you can relax at the restaurant, explore the area, walk along Colomitos beach, or climb to the waterfall before taking the boat back to Boca de Tomatlán. In all this will be a memorable night.
