VACATIONING IN DUBAI

In August 2012 myself and my daughter decided to surprise my hubby for his 50th and go to Dubai to celebrate his birthday.

We booked a 6 night flights and hotel with half board in a 5 star hotel and wow it was amazing.

We flew into Abu Dabhi and were taken by bus across the desert in to Dubai. We arrived early 8. am and were given our room which was a garden apt. by the pool or should I say pools.

I have to say we were blown away with the whole wealth and extravagance of it all. We felt like millionaires.

We mostly used Taxis as they were very cheap. We went shopping, sightseeing, boating, even a helicopter ride over the Palms. And we have afternoon tea in the 7 star Burj Al Arab.

It was awesome, We also went to a water Park and were amazed at people leaving I phones, wallets, purses etc on their sun loungers. Everywhere was so safe and no litter, no graffiti, no homeless, and people in general were very kind and helpful.

We went out to the Dubai race track where Claire bought her dad a 2 hour drive in a audi R 8 and he had a blast. We also spent a day down in the old part od Dubai where you had all the markets, traders and Gold Souks. It was very pleasant to walk down these streets with all the traders selling their clothes, jewellery etc. And no one hassled you into buying at all.

Travelling from one side of the river to the other was hilarious and you are sitting on a water bus or should I say it was like a plank of wood with a lawn mower engine. Even at night they were running and they only had a small light and one man driving the boat .
We also went out on a day/night trip to the dessert and rode camels and drove up and down the sand dunes and then had dinner under the stars in a camp with belly dancers. That truly felt like we were in the Aladdin movie.

I have to say it was a memorable, interesting and exotic holiday and in the 6 nights we got to do so much.

The flight was 7 hours and we flew with emirates and it was a very enjoyable flight and the attendants were most helpful.

But I can honestly say that I love Florida and have to visit it each year as I have done since 1999.
