The Wizarding world of Harry Potter

The Wizarding world of Harry Potter

We were lucky enough to be offered the chance to go to universal studio this week on Monday for a preview of the new attraction of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter

As you walk through the archway that leads to Hogsmeade village the first thing that you see is the Hogwarts Express which is pouring out steam as if it had just arrived.

We actually were told it would be best to go straight to the Hogwarts school for wizards and whichcraft where the forbidden journey ride is located. As you enter the castle you are greeted by Dumbledore quoting “There comes a time when we must make a choice between what is right and what is easy, lets hope you make the right one”(or something to this effect). The castle is very realistic and the holographs so realistic you can believe it is the actual cast there. As you walk along the castles corridors the tour you are on goes through several rooms were portraits talk to each other about all of us Muggles coming into the castle.

You eventually get to the room where Harry, Ron and Hermione are up above on a balcony and come out from the invisibility cloak and invite you to come along on a game of Quidditch with them. By this time you are put onto a kind of 4 seater bench where Hermione does the magic spell to make you fly, you are then on an amazing ride with Harry and Ron.

This is one of 3 rides and the one that will be the most popular so best idea is to get on that first.

As you come out of the castle you find yourself in the village street, there are many shops for you to go in and buy Harry Potter souvenirs. There is the wand choosing shop where you can buy anyone’s wand all very different .

The sweet shop (Honeydukes sweet shop) here you can buy any flavour Burtie Botts beans, peppermint chocolate toads, fudge flies, and many more wonderful sweets.

In the center of the village you can get a Butterbeer (well worth a try) it is non alcoholic and had a different taste at the bottom from the top, But I wont spoil it for you

You can post a card from the owl post shop

One word of warning for younger people you must be 4 foot tall to Ride the Forbidden Journey ride

We were told it has took more than five years to complete and a cost of in excess of $260million and is worth every penny in my opinion. I do hope you all get to go and see it for yourselves
