Halloween wouldn’t be Halloween without a visit to Mickey’s not so scary Halloween party! It is great for the children (old or young! ) and I can thoroughly recommend it. It is exactly what it says and is “ not so scary “ as some of the other parks and is really fun for the really young ones!
Loads of people go in fancy dress and is great to see all the different costumes, some people really go to town and if you are not wearing one you feel very underdressed some of the children looked absolutely fantastic and their parents had obviously gone to an enormous amount of trouble.
Entrance into Magic Kingdom for the party is by ticket only and only a certain amount of tickets are sold. These are available from the official Disney website for quite a long time before Halloween and the dates you can go start at the end of September right through until the beginning of November so is not just on the one night. For what you get these are very reasonably priced too at about $40 each.
Entrance into the park is usually around 6. 30pm and the guests that are in the park on those days have to leave before that time, all party ticket holders have to wear wristbands so staff know that they have purchased tickets for the party.
When you get to the entrance gates everyone is given a bright orange bag! this is to collect your trick or treat sweets that are given to you at various locations all over the park, I must admit even after eating a few on the way round we still ended up with a huge bag full that not only lasted the rest of the holiday but I brought the remaining ones home for my grandson!
It was great fun and the nice part was the fact that there were no queues at any of the rides due to the limit on people there. There were lots of Halloween characters around and the special lighting effects were up to the normal Disney outstanding standard.
Best of all was the spectacular fireworks at the end, these never cease to amaze me no matter how many times I see them, there is nothing to compare them with here in the UK and are truly brilliant. The evening is worth going to for these alone.
So if you want a “ not so scary “ treat while you are on vacation do go along to MICKEY’S NOT SO SCARY HALLOWEEN PARTY. And be Spooktacularly thrilled.
