Joe's Crab Shack

When we first bought our villa there were only a couple of restaurants nearby now we are lucky to have so many we are spoilt for choice. We go back home after every visit with at least one on our To Do list! The one left to visit from our last holiday was Joe’s Crab Shack that had opened on the 192 just opposite Rolling Oaks common. This visit we made it our first priority and although there is road access from the 192 we entered from the side road on our way home from Animal Kingdom.

Joe’s is always very easy to spot with a large sign outside and this and the front of the building are illuminated at night as well as a statue of Joe at the entrance – you cannot miss it! There were only three of us the night we went and there was quite a wait for a table so we sat at the bar. My Mother loved this because she can watch the staff make all different types of cocktails. Joe’s is a lively place good for families plenty of music and the night we went there was also two birthday celebrations.

Mom and I ordered wine and were amused to see the “wine glass” that came with the small carafe. The service was very good and all the staff had tee shirts with different sayings. The staff went to great lengths to answer any of our queries and the Manager was most attentive as well.

As we were very hungry we all decided to order starter/appetisers . I had Crab Nachos which were delicious and I would recommend anyone visiting Joe’s to order them. My Father had a favourite of his a Bucket of Shrimps whilst my Mother had and enjoyed a New England Clam Chowder Bowl. For my main course I chose a Fisherman’s Platter which came with popcorn shrimp fish fillet, calamari fries and coleslaw it was great. Mom ordered Crab Cake Chipotle Salad which was huge and included large pieces of crab meat, tortilla chips as well as the Caesar dressing she did not leave any! My father and I shared a Crabby Apple Crumble which came with cinnamon ice cream I had to eat quickly to get my share! Mom had her favourite Key Lime Pie which was topped with cream. After our meal we had a browse through all the signs on the wall and my Father bought a Joe’s Crab Shack blue tee shirt.

If you get time when you are in Orlando do visit Joe’s you will enjoy it.
