In September this year Givenchy opened its only stand-alone retail location in the United States at the French Pavilion at Epcot. This is situated in what was once the “library” section of the pavilion (here there is a “Beauty and the Beast” stained-glass window backdrop) and the shop offers the entire line of Givenchy fragrances, cosmetics and skincare.
Although I do not have any real allergies I can be prone to a sneezing fit when I am surrounded by scents and perfumes but I believe the aromas in the shop are not overpowering. I suspect this could be because so many natural ingredients are used in Givenchy products.
One great gift to look out for when you visit here is a new fragrance sold to celebrate Givenchys association with Disney this is called “eaudemoiselle de Givenchy” and is an eau de toilette vaporizer spray. I am thinking what a unique present this would be for any Givenchy or even Disney fan.
In addition to this Givenchy also offers limited edition scents. I did not realize this but each year Givenchy select three flowers from various countries around the world and these flowers are used in the creation of three unique fragrances. Only a certain amount of these scents are made and once they are all sold no more is produced. I do not know the prices of these but I expect them to be quite expensive although I am prepared to be pleasantly surprised! Apparently though the Givenchy prices are not inflated at Epcot, items in the shop will be priced identically to those at Macy’s.
In this new shop you will also find a complete makeup counter where there are experts to help you select and apply the appropriate product. One great idea I think they have is that an assistant will be happy to apply the makeup to only half of your face and then allow you to take over under their guidance for the second half. I really think this is a very useful service. If you decide to purchase their products you will also be provided with a complete, step-by-step chart so that you will know exactly what to do once you get home.
If the men in the family accompany you to Givenchy there are quite a few fragrances for them to try and perhaps even purchase. If they get bored they can go and partake in the wine tasting nearby.
I will definitely visit this shop on my next Epcot visit not only to try the fragrances but also perhaps to buy some non Disney gifts for friends at home.
