“The place where the magic began & storybook fantasy is everyday reality”
From the moment you arrive at the main gate you can feel the excitement! Through the turnstiles & you’re into Main Street USA, a replica of a small town of the early 1900s. If you aren’t dragged away to join the rides, take time to absorb the atmosphere, look around the shops & plan your day. This is also a great place to catch the various parades. These vary on different days so it’s a good idea to find out which feature on the day you are visiting so you can get to your space on time – beware the prime viewing places get taken over an hour before!
There are various ways of getting around Magic Kingdom (including trolley buses and fire engines!) but we have found one of the best is on the steam train that leaves from the entrance. If you’re there fairly early, head straight to the far side of the park while others start at the beginning. You can get off the train at Mickey’s Toontown Fair, which is a great place for the younger ones in the party. Mickey & Minnie's houses provide play areas, there are a couple of smaller rides & it’s an ideal place to find all your favourite characters!
For the older and more daring members of the party, Tomorrowland is right next door. Space Mountain is a great roller coaster in the dark, Astro Orbiter lets you soar above Tomorrowland & the Buzz Lightyear ride is fun for everyone as you try to shoot the aliens!
Fantasyland has a rather gentler pace – its here where all the classic Disney characters come to life. Visit Winnie the Pooh, Snow White & Peter Pan, take a ride on a flying elephant or in a teacup and don’t miss Mickey’s PhilharMagic, a new show with one or two surprises!
On to Liberty Square where you can tour the rivers of America, either on the beautiful authentic paddleboat or on one of the smaller keel boats with Davy Crockett! There’s education here in the form of ‘The Hall of Presidents’ and spooky fun in The Haunted Mansion. Even live entertainment as Goofy & friends from Toy Story have a country-dancing jamboree. Older members of your party may appreciate a quiet moment sat in the shade in this lovely part of the park.
The final land is Adventureland where you can take a boat ride through secret caverns with the Pirates of the Caribbean or travel on the rivers of four different continents deep into the jungle. Little ones will love Aladdin’s Magic Carpet ride & the tree house of the Swiss Family Robinson & if you fancy a sing along try the Enchanted Tiki Room.
As with all the Disney parks, there are a variety of places to eat ranging from snack bars to full restaurant service meals, some with characters. If you book you can even enjoy a meal in the castle at Cinderella’s Royal Table, but again beware, this does get booked up quickly. There are daytime parades, night time illuminated parades and the Wishes firework show is pure magic!
Magic Kingdom is classic Disney at its very best & great for kids…….of all ages!!!
