I would like to tell you all about our experience of going on a cruise.
Last October we decided to go to our villa in Orlando for 3 weeks and as it was our 30 year wedding anniversary we thought we would do a cruise.
So in Late August we looked up last minute cruise offers and saw many but one in particular caught our eye and it was sailing out of Fort Lauderdale for 7 nights stopping off in Haiti , Jamaica, mexico and Grand Cayman.
And oh wow what a wonderful experience. It was a 5 star ship Independance of the Seas which is a Royal carribbean ship we have to say it was wonderful.
The company we booked with were Vacations to go and they were so helpful.
Many of us home owners like to go out and relax in our holiday homes and there is so much to do in Orlando and Florida so you are never bored. There are many cruises to choose from and all very good rates so I just wanted to share this with everyone as its a very in expensive way to see many carribbean islands with food, drinks and accomodation all included.
The staff on the ship work extremely hard and each crew member had more than one job. The days we docked on the Islands we could book excursions or sight see ourselves which we did and found this less expensive as there are taxis that we take you around the Islands but ask first for a rate . You can bargain with them as I always do but they are eager to please and are very glad of your money. Most of these islands depend a lot on tourism and therefore they know they have to please. Also they do not hassle you when you are shopping not like Spain and you have the people selling jewellery and bags even if you are sitting having a meal in the evening.
So I would highly recommend you all to take a look at doing a cruise from any of the many ports, ie. Tampa, Miami, Port Canaveral, Fort Lauderdale and Jacksonville.
Also I would like to add that when we docked back in Fort Lauderdale we decided to drive on down to Miami and on to the Keys. We stopped overnight in Key Largo and then spent 2 nights in Key west and it was the week running up to Halloween and what a place for partys and dress up. The costumes and make up were amazing on the people in the evenings as there walked through the streets and everyone was taking photos.
Florida has to be one of the most exciting places to visit as there is so much to do and see and we have been going there for 15 years now and still we haven' t seen it all.
