Cafe Tu Tu Tango

In our never ending quest to try every restaurant in Orlando we ventured to Cafe Tu Tu Tango.

Situated on International Drive, it is right in the centre of the tourist area. The restaurant itself claims to "fill all your sensorial needs". The setting is a Spanish Artists Loft and it achieves its very Bohemian appearance well.

Although we saw a few older children during our visit, I wouldn't have thought it was especially geared to children, but for older teenagers and adults it's a good "grown up" place to enjoy each others company.

On entering the restaurant you are greeted by the striking art work of the resident artists. You can have a portrait or a caricature drawn while you wait. There are more paintings hung everywhere than a lot of galleries have, there is also jewellery and decorative items for sale.

There were 5 of us in our party so we all decided to order different dishes and make the most of the Tapas experience. We ordered drinks at the bar and found seats to await our table. Our behinds had hardly touched the seats when we were shown to our table. Yet more artwork adorns every inch of wall space and if you should ever run out of conversation some of the pieces displayed will inspire you!!

Our waiter came to the table and to take orders for starters, we learnt the hard way in Orlando that if you order a starter then a main course you are unlikely to finish to finish both, and most definitely won't manage a dessert, so we passed on starters and went straight to the main course.

There is a very varied selection to order, including a good selection of vegetarian options, so we all ordered 2 dishes each, as being Tapas they are not huge portions, and it allowed us to sample as many as we could. I have to say the Calamari was the best I have tasted in Orlando. We sampled dishes like Mango Duck Quesadilla, Cuban Grilled Steak Skewers and Spanish Antipasto ( Paella to you and me).

All the dishes we tried were cooked beautifully and the service was pretty good.

There is entertainment during dinner, anything from Tango or Salsa dancers to singers, and the resident artists are happy to talk in depth about their art.

All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Cafe Tu Tu Tango and would recommend it to others.
