Boggy Creek Airboat Ride

What started with a single six seater air boat back in 1994, has since become one of Orlando’s most popular attractions. Thirty minute tours depart every hour between 9. 00am and 5. 30pm every day (weather permitting). No reservation is required so just turn up and don’t forget your camera, there is so much to see. You may even get close up and personal with an alligator

It is hard to describe the thrill of travelling up to 45 miles per hour through the Central Florida Everglades, skimming just inches above the water and aquatic plant life that lies beneath. But one thing is for sure, it is an experience you will never forget. The noise of the engine is very, very loud so maybe taking very little ones may not be a good idea. When the boat spots something of interest, like an alligator or a family of ducks and their chicks, they will cut the engine and just drift as close as they dare for you to take photographs.

Each thirty minute tour takes you into the very heart of Florida’s finest wildlife, including bald eagles, herons, osprey, snakes, deer, a multitude of fowl and of course the infamous alligator.

Your airboat captain has been fully certified by the US coastguard, so you can relax and enjoy the ride, knowing that you are safe in the hands of a true professional. In addition, all airboats are fully inspected and approved by the US coastguard inspectorate and provide easy access for wheelchair users or guests with disabilities.

Your safety and comfort are paramount to the operators of the Boggy Creek Airboats, so ear defenders are provided to help block out the noise of the huge airboat engine that will propel you across the water like a skimmed stone and of course, as you would expect with any water activities. Life jackets are provided. It is also recommended that you wear plenty of sunscreen and wear sunglasses. You may need additional clothing to keep you warm on days when the ambient air temperature is less than 70 degrees - at 45 miles per hour, it can get pretty breezy out there.

For the sporting types among you, world class bass fishing is also available and even the thrill and excitement of parasailing, either individually or as a pair, where you can ascend to up to 800 feet, from the back of a speed boat and take in the splendour of the surrounding countryside.

So for a day out doing something completely different, head on down to Boggy Creek which is only about a half to three quarters of an hours drive.
