Behind the Scenes at Busch Gardens

If you ever have the chance I recommend you try some of the Behind the Scenes tours that are on offer at Busch Gardens. You will find that these are real hands-on experiences like preparing food for animals, feeding them, cleaning up after them, helping with the training as well as sometimes eating with the staff.

At Serengeti Safari you can see African wildlife up close on an off-road tour through the Serengeti Plain. It is a great expedition you get loads of information and the chance to feed antelopes and giraffes. Make the most of the photo opportunities here. You will require park admission in addition to paying for the tour which lasts about thirty minutes in an open truck and costs approx $38 for adults and children must be over 5 years old.

Throughout this guide I am quoting adults prices but do not know what the exact children’s prices are.

There is also a Serengeti Night Safari which begins in the Safari Club where you enjoy appetizers and drinks before going on the two hour tour. You stroll through the Edge of Africa and see the nighttime habits of hippos, lions and hyena' s. Using night vision goggles you see the animals that roam the plain and listen to African tales told by your guide around a bonfire. At the end you have African coffee, tea and desserts. I think this is very reasonable at approx $65 and park admission is not required however you must be over 21 years of age.

The Heart of Jungala Tour allows you to go behind the scenes at Jungala which is an “endangered species new state-of-the-art home. ” You meet tigers, orangutans and their keepers. It is a 30 minute walking tour which takes place at 2. 00pm each day and costs approx $36 children must be over 5 years of age.
You will have fun on the Saving a Species Tour where you ride in an open safari truck through a 65-acre African animal habitat. The 45-minute tour includes getting close to animals, such as the endangered white rhino, giraffe, zebra and black rhino. Again park admission is required children must be over 5 and the adult cost is approx$50.

Finally the Animal Adventure Tour which is more expensive at approx $130 for adults. You will get the V. I. P. treatment on this two-hour tour as you get close to hippos, black rhinos and giraffes and you will meet the keepers who care for these animals. Great photo opportunities here.

These are just a few of the tours available at Disney Parks if you go on any I am sure you will enjoy them.
