In 1985 in Brandon Florida Jim Melody dreamed up the idea of a neighborhood pub where friends and families could gather to enjoy good food and sports in a comfortable friendly atmosphere.
Together with his wife Jeanette they embellished the Brady family name to arrive at the unlikely , yet likable name Beef ‘O’Brady’s. Regulars affectionately nicknamed it Beef’s
His love of sports inspired him to offer as many games as possible to his customers, so he invested in TV’s and satellite dishes…..covered the walls in authentic sports memorabilia and graced his menu with an irish blessing that symbolized the irish tradition of happy times.Today there are Beef ‘o’ Brady’s popping up all over the country.
We visit the one on US27 a mile north of the I4 junction 54 at the intersection with the CR54 in the Ridgeview Plaza.
If you are a sports fan of any kind then this is for you as there are multiple TV’S and big screens. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and a very good sign is that it is frequented by locals. There is a great bar and often couples, holidaymakers and locals sit here initially just for a drink but one drink leads to another and then ordering often prevails.
The menu is large and varied and you can choose from a selection of starters including one of my favorites potato skins loaded with flavor topped with crisp fried bacon and shredded cheddar-jack cheese served with soured cream or Then there are their famous buffalo style chicken wings served in Jim’s legendary sauce, mild, medium, hot, extra hot and for those who dare NUCLEAR….great to share.
Then there are soups and salads wraps and sandwiches, burgers and more….one of my favorite sandwiches is philly steak. Loaded with flavor grilled shaved lean sirloin steak with fresh grilled peppers and onions on a hoagie roll then smothered with melted provolone.
Also recommend the buffalo style chicken breast sandwich…..a lightly battered fried chicken breast coated with their special recipe buffalo sauce, lettuce, tomato, and your choice of blue cheese or ranch dressing. Scrummy
Beef o bradys is also a great place for kids and they have a small games room which keeps the kid’s quiet for ten minutes…..The Beef’s Kid’s menu for children under 12 years include fries a drink and oreo cookies….and from what I have seen they have got it right because the children seem to really enjoy it here.
