Him indoors always goes for an omelette for breakfast if he gets the chance and he dithered between the "Everything omelette"(ham, celery, tomato, pepper and cheese) and Granny' s Country Omelette (a similar mix but smothered in cheese sauce and stuffed with hash browns.
All I can say about the latter option is that it may have been ok before a hard day in the fields. But having seen it, it had to be tried.
I always love an Eggs Benedict. They had a traditional version and that was good.
However, they have a Country Cooking Benedict too!! Wait until you hear what is in that; starts O. K. traditional muffin with sausage, cheese and 2 eggs, then they smother in cream gravy. Does that sound nice to you. Anyway, if it does, it comes with Breakfast Potatoes, 3 pancakes and a monster muffin. . . phew! My advice is, take your muffin away for later and it will still feed 2!
You can opt for a healthy breakfast of spinach and Baby Bella Scramble which is served with wholemeal Toast and racks up 540 cals. Not a diet amount, is it?!
Of course, they offer pancakes, waffles, French toast and Belgian Waffles, all with sides. The Brioche French Toast Waffles look nice. These are 3 brioche slices soaked in an egg mix and fried with 2 eggs, bacon or sausage and glazed blueberries or strawberries.
You will have guessed that you can order a traditional American Breakfast if your palate is less adventurous. These are found under their Fresh Cracked range. Eggs any old way you want them, bacon, ham, sausage and so on.
"Hearty Man's Combo" has smoked sausage, American sausage, 2 eggs, hash browns, fruit or pancakes and a giant muffin or toast, I guess 'Hearty Women' could also eat this dish!!
There is orange, apple, tomato or grapefruit juice (no V8, shame, my favourite) and their famous bottomless pots of coffee and tea.
If it is a hot day then iced tea would be welcome or a cool day hot chocolate.
This is a good breakfast to have before a day at the parks or a drive to either coast. You will not be grazing all day unless you are teenager maybe!
Perkins is a really good value option for breakfast and I would recommend it.
