    Yet another newbie!!!

hi guys, great site and i've found a whole load of info for my trip.

i last went in 1990 and am now going back in sept for 3 weeks with my partner who has never been and is a bit calm about going[:0]

any recommendations to blow her away?

i seem to remember the first time i went,we got on the monorail somewhere and it travels through one of the disney hotels, this i found unbelievable, and i would like her entry to be the same.can anyone tell me where i can pick up the monorail to go through the hotel?

also how is parking at disney,do you pay and if so how much for a day as we will proberly stay to the end on some days and have a meal at downtown disney if i can figure out where to leave the car[:I]

i also notice there is suppossed to be a launch from kennedy on 22 sept.did anyone go to the one a few days ago and is it worth it?

cheers all and keep up the good work

    Greetings and welcome,

The monorail that goes through Disneys Contemporary Hotel goes from the Transportation and Ticket Centre to the Magic Kingdom. Try and ask a Cast Member if you can ride in the front, that will really blow her away, especially as you go through the hotel.

Parking is pretty easy and you get a shuttle train from the parking lot to each park. I think it is currently $8 per day but once purchased it can be used in other parks if you park hop.
Remember where you park though because, as our shuttle driver once told us, Disney has a fail proof way of finding your car if you forget where you left it....You wait until about 2 hours after the park closes and yours will be the only one left

No parking fee at Downtown Disney, tis one of the only freebies at Disney

Dunno about the launch thing but others surely will.

    HTH,

    Brizzle

    Hi there and welcome.
If you have not been since 1990, then you will be amazed at the changes around,[msnoo] it seems that new complexes go up almost overnight these days.
I dont think it is a "Shuttle" launch in sept, but i am sure someone else will know.[?][msnwink]
We also go out for 3xweeks in sept.!!

seems i posted in the wrong place [:I] sorry

it's not a shuttle launch, just a rocket launch for the 22/9.just wondered if it was worth planning to see.

thanks for the info on the monorail,i will certainly try to introduce her to disney this way.

also are there any lockers at disney? i can't remember and seeing as we could be getting wet i wondered if a change of clothes were necessary?

    can't wait!!!!!!!!

The majority of parks have lockers which are normally not far from Guest Relations at the park entrance. Unless you have a change of clothes, don't wear jeans as they take ages to dry!

Try here for launch info http://www.ksc.nasa.gov/ or http://www-pao.ksc.nasa.gov/kscpao/carpass/carpass.htm

A very warm welcome to the forum, have you thought of Discovery Cove? Swim with the Dolphins & I believe they have a twilight session too!

    Welcome welcome

So much to do, so little time[msnsmile2][msnsmile]We saw a launch a few years back, wowed hubbie( wasn't really my thingBut there really is so much there now, my first time was 91, and we have been most years since, and we can't keep up with everything![msntongue]Though I am told a helicopter ride over Disney is the thing to do, September should be a little quieter in the parks too! Breakfast at Grand Floridian, pretty special[msncool][msnwink][msnsmile2]
