My wife went and thought that it was one of the most memorable places that she has ever visited. But we booked her place 7 months in advance and if you have not booked yours, do so right away. You will have to work rest of the itinerary around the visit to DC.

Well, we went in October 02, and whilst it was a fab day out, we were disappointed with the dolphin swim........ There is plenty to do there, the snorkelling was wonderful, the free flying birds fab, beautiful beach settings, and the meal is one of the best meals we had in Florida - canteen like queue, but tasted divine! Bear in mind, they do have up to 1,000 people a day to feed, so the queue was expected! We didn't buy the video, as it did seem expensive, and we had friends that videoed it for us from the back of the shore using zoom! Was a bit shaky, but a great reminder! We did buy some pics, and then spent £60 on a special large wall frame, with 3d effect Discovery Cove Dolphin motif. It looks great on the wall, and sets off the pic of all 5 of us perfectly!
As I said, the only downside was the dolphin swim, but then I suppose our expectations were so high, we were bound for a fall! The water has to replicate real life for the dolphins, so was FREEZING, they can't swim in bath temps unfortunately!! Wet suits help though. The experience lasts about half an hour, and there were 8 of us together (our family and another), with one dolphin, with about 4 other groups all having their swim at the same time. The area is surprisingly small IMHO. It was fantastic to get up close and personal with such majestic creatures, but just not as great as I had hoped.......... All in all though, the day is worth the money including all the other activities, and such a good day out.
This year, we have booked a 2 day Keys trip, visiting a Gator/snake farm, and a one-on-one dolphin swim too - I am trying to keep my expectations low! I'll post a report if anyone is interested after our visit in October.
Good luck, I am sure you will enjoy your day there!

I went with my family and had a great day. The dolphin swim was good but my girlfriend and myself had swum with them before in Mexico, which in my opinion was better (more interaction).

Mum was a non-swimmer and still really enjoyed the day.

We all paid individually for the day, I am not so sure mum and dad would have enjoyed the day as much if they footed the bill as it is rather expensive !
