Btw at Macey's as a 'visitor' you are entitled to 11% off your shopping - you have to ask for it.

Excellent value at the moment, tax free plus an 11% discount!!

Not necessarily. My wife did a lot of shopping at Macy's and when the teller saw her Barclaycard, she confirmed that we were visitors and told us about the discount. I am not quite certain if it was 11%, but must have been close to it.

The assistant who served me told me I had to ask for it as there were so many foreigners living in florida they didn't know who was and who wasn't!

I think the obviously foreign (non-US) Credit Card like the Barclaycard made the teller who served us realise the fact.
