I own a little bit of a steam train that runs here on the local private line (Watercress run) and have always tracked them down wherever, from Sweden, China, Arizona, Egypt, drives the boss mad, and yes I was a train spotter…

Next trip to Orlando I’m heading for http://www.mtdorarailway.com/dinner.html to see what its like. Anyone done this yet?

There used to be a Mount Dora steam train going through picturesque countryside, but it seems to have stopped now. But I am sure there is another steam train in the vicinity of Orlando but I cannot recall the details out of the top of my head.

But if you like trains, there is a place called TRAINLAND Inc near Sea World which is worth a visit.

PS: Why is liking trains "not very girly"? My wife has loved Steam trains since she was a child and still does.

did the amtrak run from charleston to orlando hoping for some different views than driving or flying.

can't really recommend it for that.
    mostly tree lined track

the only part i didnt complete was orlando to kissimmee
so still wondering what that's like!

We booked the trip......for Aug 6th.....the lady at the booking office was nice.....she was worried we'd done the Cape one first because it has great write ups in all mags about dinning out....

She said they are not so posh.....but thats fine with me.....$45 each plus tax......
