We bought a cheap one from Dixons for £30 for our daughter last year which although it never said it was region free turned out to be and plays all her US dvds.

We got a cheap one from Asda, which you have to code to make it region free. If you just search on DVD codes and the make and model of your player on the web, you should be able to find it! Good luck

The Asda ones are quite decent, Pacific 1002/3s about 15 people I know have them and they're all very happy with them

Sometime ago, TESCO used to do Wharfdale players for around £70 which were multiregion and considered very good value. I don't know if they still do.

Argos are currently selling Alba DVD players for £29.99. They do not say they are multi-region, but they will play American discs.
