    BB hotel near gatwick airport

hi guys can anyone reccomend a place to stay the night before we travel near Gatwick airport, i thought if it wasn't too expensive we could stay there the night before and not have the $am rise and 3.5 drive to the airport first thing.
    Thanks
    Carrie.
I feel i am so organised already and i still need to wait until october, i just knoow i will forget something on the day like my PASSPORT!

What we have done is book a room at the Gatwick Hilton, its actually attached to the
    South terminal

    Hilton
    Gatwick Airport,
    South terminal,
    -Tel:01293 518080.

Other than that, if you do a search on Gatwick Parking, it lists all the hotels/bb's around
    the area

We use a B & B about 5 minutes from the airport called Staith House you get a double en-suire room for about £50 including continental breakie and you can park the car there for £15 a week , she even organises the taxi to the airport in the morning. There's a lovely place to eat 5 minutes walk away, what more could you ask for ?

I've always stopped at the Marriott Renaissance - it has a courtesy Bus and includes parking for upto 21 days...

We stayed at the Staith House too and agree that it is very nice and good value. Very helpful hosts, nice breakfast and there are many good restaurants nearby for the evening meal on the day you arrive. As has been said, you have the bonus of the hosts' help in organising taxis to the airport etc.

Like chrisj i use the hilton at the south terminal, if i remember right its £100 for a family room(2 bedrooms) inc breakfast. We normally check-in for the flight very early go back to the hotel for breakfast check out the hilton and you have killed most of your waiting time [msnsmile2]

Yes. Also, I always find that staying in a traditional B&B rather than an impersonal Hotel on the night before a holiday puts us in a good frame of mind.
