For the length of time that it takes to get in and out of the airport, why make life difficult for your self, with all due respect , 9/11 knocked the socks of the US and although we have been dealing with it for years ( almost on a regular basis ) with the IRA and their terrorist tactics, America is still coming to terms with the fact that someone has managed to penetrate "their security system" and done so much damage.

Yes you will always have an over zealous immigration officer who thinks he/she is "god" but for the most part they are generally ok, I have been going backwards an forwards to the US ( all over) for many years and never once come across any officer in immigration with a nasty attitude ( luckily) but if I did then I would just play it their way with the "sir and ma'am" thrown in.

Terrorists come in all shapes and sizes, colours & creeds, they are not bothered about using children as decoys either which I find wicked, but they are fanatics and will use anything to get to us.

I think we have to remember that they are screening hundreds of thousands of visitors every day/week etc and lets face it, it only takes one slip and the wrong ones are through, who would we blame then ??
