Walmart is great but not the best place for food shopping, we much prefer Publix as they have a lot more variety.

I second that. Although WalMart do sell food, we preferred Winn-Dixie or Publix for food shopping. But Walmart is very good for most other things and you can easily spend a few hours (and lots of dollars!) there finding things that "you never realised you needed".

hear, hear to all the above. When my husband was in walmart earlier this year he wanted to buy some cigars, but found they were all locked away under the counter. He could have bought a handgun more easily!![msnoo]

Publix hot fried chicken portions are much nicer than Walmarts, they tend to be over cooked with very hard batter and dried out chicken.

However!, we found a great Super Walmart just outside Spring Hill coming back on the I-50 towards Clermont, spent about $10 and got a huge bag of lovely crispy but not dry chicken strips, potato wedges and corn dogs, then pulled into a gas station and got enormous (and very nice) coffee & hot chocolates for $1 each, kept us all going on the drive back
