Flight VS075 from MAN to MCO

A while back on the forums there was talk of the existing old plane being replaced by a new one or at least a second hand new-er one. We are flying next summer and I just wondered if anyone had heard any more on this?

We were looking on the virgin holidays web into flights for next may, with virgin from Manchester. We usually fly Club Orlando, with the leased planes, but seeing on the webpage...the flight prices have now changed to First Class, with the massive prices approx £2400 per person..., so this may seem they are changing the planes...

    Lets wait and see

I did hear a rumour about a proper second daily service from Manchester next year too. About time if you ask me as the current service is always packed and I'm sure there is more than enough traffic to justify a second daily service.

What I'd really like is for someone to start up in competition on the route as that would drive down the prices like it has on the LGW to MCO route [msnsmile2]

I spoke to Virgin last week when I booked for next July/August and there are no plans for a second service.

Club Orlando does not exist in 2005 and as a previous post stated they will have Upper Class. Although not confirmed I think it will be operated by a 747 400 as there is no way they could operate UC on old Honey Pie or Island Lady without a refit as they are converting all the regular aircraft with flat beds in UC.

P.S Premium is pretty booked up for July/Aug 2005 I could not get my chosen dates!

Virgin will be moving one of its LGW fleet to MAN for next summers service with a full Virgin Atlantic service (compared to leased 747-200 service by Air Atlanta).

That means full Upper Class service (in fact I might have read on another forum that it is an LHR plane moving to MAN in which case there will be an onboard bar and beauty therapist area where both are not offered on the LGW fleet).

However, it is not expected that the MAN service will have the new Upper Class Suite, but instead will have the old J2000 seats.

Ive also heard that by next year the manchester planes will be replaced, at the moment LHR are
being upgraded, followed by gatwick and then they move onto manchester. The thing is the manchester
planes are past their sell by date and rumour is they will be replaced by new ones which will
have the latest suite config with v-Port

    Quote from a Virgin site................

From the 1st May 2005 The MAN - ORL route will revert to a 747/400 aircraft owned by VS and NOT Air Atlanta. This will be in the new config of
J 14 / W 58 / Y 379. The 14 J seats WILL be the new Upper Class Suite. Expect The Club Orlando prices to disappear from this date and be replaced with proper Upper Class Fares close to the LGW - ORL levels. What Air Atlanta do with the 747/200 planes after this is anyones guess but as they are approaching 25years old they may not be allowed to continue flying in Europe due to noise restrictions.
