    US Elections

Does anyone know the dates for the US elections please and whether the build up and election day is likely to affect day to day life?

Trina, the US election is on Nov 2nd. Not sure why you think it would affect day to day life tho? Do you mean as a tourist, because if its anything like it is here, then apart from all the rubbish on TV, I wouldn't imagine it would make any difference.

    Thanks for that Rosie
We are not going out until the 14th. We have a lot to sort out while we are there in just one week - appointments to make, people to see etc.
Had no idea of how involved the general public get with the election. All we really see here in the UK is all the razzamatazz and banner waving!

We fly out on the 13th November and I know it will be finished by then, not sure exactly but it was before the 13th.

We've been over during a couple of past elections, and it really makes no difference in "everyday tourist life".

The only problem is the wall to wall reporting on TV.

Some of the live debates are fun to watch tho ~ I love a good televised slanging match

This is the question that one would expect GWB to ask his staff!

Hopefully it will be a party atmosphere after this election

Yeah... right! Last time we had to wait over a month of wrangling, and the supreme court, before we found out who was to be the big man! Thank god it was W.

Hopefully there won't be a repeat of 4 years ago, and FL will have its voting system fixed.

Election day is always the first Tuesday in November, and no, it does not affect daily life at all.
