    Stay Dry in IOA

So many 'water' rides - but there is a way to limit a complete soaking!

Buy an Islands of Adventure rain poncho (they make nice souvenirs and are usually available at most shops) and hope for the best. This is far less fun and you’ll probably get pretty wet anyway. You may have a Disney poncho already so take this with you.

Even better, buy one at Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Target or even Publix and pay a fraction of the price for the ponchos. No pretty pictures on it, but prices range from $2.50 in the supermarkets.

This is really wimpish. You go on water rides to get wet!! If you don't get wet, it aint no fun and what's the point!! My advice would be to wear something which dries quickly (eg avoid denim) in the Summer. In the Winter, take a change of clothes and leave in a locker. Do all the water rides first and one after the other, have a good laugh at how wet you are, then get changed into dry clothes in the loo.

I agree Julie - what's the point if you're done up in a mac! And boy don't the people on the boat with the water squirters target you if you're wrapped up! If you haven't been on the boat, once you've done the ride head upstairs on the boat and there are free squirters where you can soak other riders as they go through. If they're dense like me, they don't even realise it's coming from above!!!

I'd go so far as to say take a change of clothes anyway, summer or winter, that sensation of walking about in wet underwear just makes your memory bank do a quantum leap backwards - yeuch!!!

Don't look for hot air handriers in the loos to help you out, there just aren't any!

I dunno, Sandra. It's quite nice to get wet in the Summer when its 96 in the shade. You need to wear light clothing which dries out quickly though. One of the parks has hot hair blowers ( is it Busch??) that I've used to dry out with before.

I agree, a cool dowsing in 90degree heat is great, but I still feel awful walking around with wet underwear! Maybe it's because I wear shorts a lot, plus I really am the person who gets soaked EVERY time. So perhaps if we recommend to others to wear skirts! - and another tip, if you see me on any water rides don't sit beside me unless you want to end up very, very wet!!

Totally agree during the summer - but during the winter months, it can feel so cold if you are soaked through and then waiting for the next ride to get wet again is positively freezing - great idea about change of clothes, hadn't thought of that but for the winter months, I'm sticking with my mac!!!

Dont think skirts are a very good idea at IOA, Sandra, given the number of rides that turn you upside down!! Definitely an insecure feeling!
