    November flights

When's the best time to book flights for November. We've decided to go out for three weeks, but the cheapest flights around at the moment seem to be in the range of £350 - £400 which seems quite high for that time of year....

Should we book now, or leave it nearer the time as our dates are flexible?[?][?][?]

I would book as soon as you can, I have found that the earlier you book the cheaper the
tickets tend to be, unless you try for a last minute deal if your prepared for the
    risks etc.

All I can say about prices, is that in general they seem to have been going up, Others
might know if yours are the norm or on the high/low side for that time of year

We would have to agree with Chrisj there, as we have children we can't take the risk of waiting for last minute bargains. We paid £429 in December last year, just before the prices escalate for christmas, so your quotes sound about right.

The prices we have paid is £259 plus taxes, we are flying indirect on one date and my parents are flying direct on another date with Virgin for the same price. All from Man. The reason we are going indirect is we have to go at a weekend but my parents can go during the week.

Ticket prices can change either way for no apparent reason at short notice.
To gain piece of mind I would book now - you get the dates you want and it is one less thing to worry about later.

There are just the 2 of us - no kids, so we could wait for last minute deals if we wanted - do you think it will be worth waiting?[8)]

    Kevin and Helen,
I've just checked on the Virgin web site at the miles plus money option for the 2 middle weeks in november Gatwick to Orlando direct: the price is just under £250-00 each plus 2000 air miles each. You can get air miles with a Virgin credit card and there was recently( it may still be on) a 3000 point bonus on joining and using the card once. If you both got a card the points would there.

Have you tried the American airlines? If you are prepared to spend a couple of hours in Chicago, you can make some significant savings. Airline Network or Quest Travel have some pretty good flights at present.
Moreover, the time spent in Chicago (or any other US airport) is taken up with customs and immigration so you get off the domestic flight in real quick time!
