    Sanford airport to international drive?

    Hi All
Can anyone suggest the best way to get from Sanford airport to International Drive. Is it best to go by bus or taxi? How long is the drive and how much should we expexct to pay?
Sorry for all the questions but time is getting on (60 days to go it's our first time to Florida and we are starting to get excited!!)

    Thanks Chris..

PS We have hired a car(Sebring from this site of course)but only for the last 7 days of our holiday so getting back to the airport will be no problem.

    Bus would be cheapest.

Or hire a car for one day only from this site.
Full Size 4 door, pick up at Sanford Airport, drop off at Holiday Inn International Drive, only £34 for the one day you would need it.

Cheaper than a taxi, easier than the bus?

Cheapest option is probably bus but it's a long way from Sanford to I-Drive, about 35 miles!!.

Mears Airport Shuttles also run to most hotels.

Have a look on the main airport website for more info,

    For taxi/limo/shuttle info http://www.orlandosanfordairport.com...mo_shuttle.asp

Given the difference in price you'd probably be better off hiring the car for 2 weeks

For the cost of the taxi etc and the convenience it would work out better to hire the car for an additional 7 days<blockquote id="quote" class="ffs">quote:Originally posted by Fairground

Thanks brizzle thats an interesting sugestion. We did not plan on hiring a car for the whole 2 weeks as there are only 2 of us staying on international drive. The Hotel has a complimentary shuttle bus to the main theme parks.
Thanks for all your help so far it is much appreciated.

Chris, you'll find it much easier with a car, shopping at Publix & Walmart is MUCH cheaper than on I-Drive for everyday things like groceries etc. and the shuttle buses don't run a regular service like buses, they normally have a few set times early morning and evening and that's all so if you want to stay for any of the nighttime events at the parks you'll have to pay for a taxi etc.

I would second that. The first few times we never hired a car and the shuttle buses were to be honest fine.
The problem we had was if we wanted to leave early. We did work out how to use the Lynx buses from the Transportation Centre and the I-Ride trams but it was still a bit of hassle.

Then two trips ago we hired a car. Fantastically convenient and you can pop home after a few hours in the park, refresh, and hit the parks for the evening entertainment all recharged.

I would go for the car for the full 2 weeks personally but there is something to be said for trying the public transport, in fact we met some interesting([msnscared][msnscared][msnsmile]!!) characters this way.

I would say Get a car for the entire holiday!! You need a car in Florida, just to cross the road!!
