Xmas at Bok Tower

There is a special Xmas Eve event at Bok Tower this year. Luminaries and flambeaux light the way to the tower where there will be music, Christmas readings and a complimentary hot drink served. Starts 7 pm. There is also an Xmas Day event starting 2.45. Also the Pinewood Mansion House at Bok Tower is open Nov 29th -Jan 12th ( excluding 24th and 25th Dec) with all of its 20 rooms beautifully decorated for the Xmas season. This is a rare chance to get inside this Mediterranean styled revival mansion which is not usually open to the public. Entrance to the house plus Bok itself is $12.

Bok Tower is at Lake Wales go 27 south and follow the signs.It is well worth a visit and presents a quiet place -a a change from the parks.I believe it is also the highest point in Florida.

You can see it from the road on the left hand side from miles away so you cannot really miss it. If you want to treat yourself, go to the nearby Chalet Suzanne for lunch ( dinner is a little too pricy) This is a beautiful and world fanous inn serving the most delicious food, though the prices are more French than American.
