Ybor city - tampa

As we are flying into Tampa, we have just booked to stay at the new holiday inn in tampa city for the first night. Has anyone ever stayed in tampa for the night or more - very interested in going to Ybor city for that night for a meal and a few drinks, so would be interested to hear any reviews

Ybor City is the Cuban area so there are lots of Cuban restuarants, bars, clubs, etc to visit and it's pretty lively at night. Check out the info here http://www.ybortimes.com/what-is-ybor.cfm

We got lost in Tampa, and I stopped for a pee there once, its just off the Interstate, and it looked as most US hotels do, OK, the streets around are all cobbled, and I think there was a University just next door, it looked lovely, and very lively.

It is a great place to shop dine drink and dance. they have a tram link down to the dock area. Very nice bars shops etc. Waterfront development of a high standard. Well worth the visit.
