Experts, who do you find best to fly with for price, comfort, value for money?
We are travelling with travel city direct for £630 in July (sunshine first) this seems really reasonable do you think there could be a catch?

I am travelling with them in July too. Could be the first and only depending on the experience. Flew Virgin before and it was great.

We usually always fly virgin, they are pretty good and we have no complaints with them so far. Ray flies with BA and most of the american airlines for work and nearly all of them are good. Only one he wouldn't recommend would be Delta. They lost his luggage and had a bit of a careless attitude to his predicament.[msnsmile2]

We have flown Monarch, Britannia and Virgin before and liked Virgin best. We always find the charter flights very cramped and a bit of a cattle market but we'd put up with anything to get out to Fl.

We find Virgin the best to fly with and we are flying club members as well. We now have enough miles for a free return flight[msnsmile2][msnsmile2]
There is no extra charge for children's meals, you can pre-book your seats, the planes out of Manchester also have Nintendo - which keeps our 7 year old happy for the full 9 hours.
I know the flights may be slightly more expensive at times but we have always had excellent service.
We like Virgin or BA. Out of the two I think Virgin has it but BA also fly into Tampa which is good![]()

Depends if you mean direct or not, If you dont mind a stop or 2 then Air France are EXCELLENT American Airlines are also very good. Virgin are average at best(no better than most charter flights in terms of legroom but for service they cant be faulted. I am amazed you even considered Travel City when their upgrade seats are onbly 31"That should be the very min in my opinion
My personal favourite is BA.
I once had a bad experience with Virgin due to extreme lack of legroom in the seat I was allocated and vowed never to fly with them again - however I might relent and give them a second chance now that you can pre-book seats as the Manchester to Orlando flight is non-stop and quite convenient. Most of the people here also tend to rate Virgin quite highly. Maybe my bad experience was just a one-off.
I like American too for the extra legroom in economy, even though my route then takes me through Chicago, although I have friends in Chicago so have the option of staying overnight for some drinks in the cocktail bar at the top of the Hancock Tower.
I also look at the type of aircraft in use. I find the 777s much more comfortable and healthy than the older 747s.
Many flights from Manchester involve a change at either Chicago, New York or Atlanta so I do check the connection times. I'm far more keen to trade some extra fare for if it takes 4 hours off my travelling time.
<blockquote id="quote" class="ffs">quote:but for service they cant be faulted[/quote] That's not the case for us as we had the crew from hell and vowed never to fly with them again!

BA or AA are our preferred airlines, we never fly charter. A couple of bad experiences with Virgin have put us off them, so they would have to be much cheaper to make us travel, and as we do Ba airmiles we get free flights every so often, plus frequently upgraded.
