Key West can be busy and expensive, we visited a couple of years ago and drove down on speck, had real trouble finding something. Ended up in a shack on the Beach...well it was a motel with a private beach but not somewhere I would have prebooked to stay! The woman in the next room was having a good time!!!Lots of Americans holiday in Key West to.

If you like snorkelling you must visit the underwater state park (Key Largo?); the statue of Christ is fantastic as were the two barracudas that came to say Hi![msnsmile2]

Jollifee - I have read a lot about the John Pennecamp USP - sounds great [8D]. Did you get any pictures while you were down there? We are going to get some underwater cameras to get some pics.

My youngest son fell in love with snorkelling when we went to Greece two years ago. He was eight at the time. Last year in France he tried scuba in the swimming pool and took to it like a duck to water - or should that be 'turtle'? or 'fish'??

This year we will all be taking the plunge - it will be the highlight of the holiday for me if it turns out to be half what it looks like in the brochures. Can't wait [8D][8D].

The Marina del Mar is lovely in Key Largo, nice little tikki bar to sip cocktails while you watch the sunset.
