    Villa with treadmill

    Hi all villa owners,

I know many villas now have games rooms which I think are a great idea, but how many of you have considered any exercise equipment like a treadmill??

The only thing I miss when in Florida is being able to use my treadmill everyday and running/power walking outside in August is not very motivating!![msncry]

Not something we have considered, don't know if your villa insurance would run to exercise equipment. In this current climate where people sue for lots of reasons, it may not be worth the risk.[msnoo]

I have to agree, I was going to put in a full gym, but was advised against it, from my management company, as the Americans would sue, at the drop of a hat,if they injured themselves, also they advised against bikes as well, when I said I was getting a couple of fishing rods for the lake, oh no they said all those hooks in peoples eyes, they where a right load of doom mongers, and yes we have parted company with them.

Never seen anyone ask for anything like this as most people go on holiday to relax! That said, there is a real insurance issue (particularly as people who weren't used to using this sort of equipment with no idea of safe use might be tempted) here with all sorts of potential injuries.

No matter how many disclaimers you have, people are still able to sue you because, perhaps, you missed one vital word out of your disclaimer. I don't think many Florida home owners would be able to afford the risk factor.

I think Centre Parcs probably have a huge liability insurance of the type an individual Florida home owner would never be able to afford.

There are gyms around the area (Celebration has an excellent one) with trained instructors and supervision. Far better to send guests there I would think.

I have looked at putting some weights and a bike in the garage. All though don't know where we would stand if someone did a mischief. In most gyms all you have to do is put up a sign saying use at your own risk, and a few instructions on how to use it. If people hurt themselves it would be their own fault.

Signs and stuff mean nothing here.....I would say having any kind of gym bits.....would be a headache not worth having.......

I would have liked some bikes so we could go riding, but that was answered on another thread. Even though
a holiday is to relax, I cant see a Florida holiday as a relaxing holiday. Its just nice to work out a bit
    after eating all that food.

Looks like its a jog round the community for me
