    alcohol on plane

    [msncool]Hi,
We will be flying from U.K to Orlando with Virgin and my
mother is not to fond of flying. I am just wondering if they
serve alcohol on the flight as I think I read somewhere that since
    sept 11th they dont?????

They certainly served alcoholic beverages when we used Virgin this Spring. But it is inadvisible to drink alcohol on a long distance flight because the ensuing dehydration makes jet lag much worse.

I always find that alcohol has the opposite effect to me and I wouldn't be able to sleep, I do think there are some herbal remedies that have a calming effect which maybe suitable, although if the lady is anything like my MIL then I often here her mentioning the phrase "medicinal purposes".....don't know what she means.

Yes Virgin serve alcohol, but the pilots have had to cut back !

If you have hired a car from the airport make sure the nominated driver stays sober, tired and drunk is not a good way to start driving on the "wrong side" of the road.

Luckily Im not the nominated driver! Virgin generally serve wine with the meal and a spirit if desired beforehand. Ive always found them very helpful & willing to provide a brandy "for medicinal purposes" as they say !![msnwink]

I always used to have a few drinks on the flight to Florida, but as already said, it isn't good for you on a long flight! Now I am a responsible parent(ummmm)I still have the wine with dinner, but keep to the water after that, so much to do on Virgin flights now, I hardly know where the time goes! You can check the films showing on your Virgin flight too, so you can plane your journey!!

Sorry that wasn't even a clever pun...that would be PLAN your journey!
