Handgun Permits

Here`s a tester for you experts,

Does anybody know what the requirements are for you to have a gun permit for a handgun in Orlando?
What i mean is do you have to be a citizen, green card holder, E2 visa holder or what to apply for one???

It seems to be that if you're a non-resident alien, then you can't buy a gun unless you have a hunting licence. http://www.vrolyk.org/guns/alien-laws.html

Out of curiosity could I ask why you would want a hand-gun? can understand someone wanting to do a bit of hunting with a hunting rifle but what would you use a handgun for? Apologies if I'm being too nosy!

Shooting handguns is a sport.

Seeing as how we no longer have that privilege just wondered what the position was in Florida. Hoping to get an E2 visa from a business later in the year.

Oh and as TREV said "shoot anybody who steals my deer" right!![msnwink]

I know as a fact the whole procedure of trying to get one is very difficult as they have to do a background check on you and i mean a very very strict check.

That sounds a little harsh.

I mean you know, in a controlled manner. I've used a shotgun a couple of times - clay pigeon which I really enjoyed. Perhaps there's something a tad more interesting available in a US state? [msneek]

Say a rocket grenade launcher or a self propelled gun, or something similar? [}]

Seriously though - does anyone know if such an opportunity exists?
