What is your favourite watering hole

Bridget asked what were good bars to visit where you could sit outside

That made me wonder with all the people that visit this site we could get a great list together of favourite watering hols outside or not

One of mine is the The Ale House on OBT opposite Best Buy

The best time to visit is between 5 and 8pm when all the locals come out of the offices. Sit at the bar and just listen to all the things that go on its great fun and the food is good too.

Asked to be served by Desiree the best waitress there

The best for me is sitting by the pool after a hard day at the park and the kids bring out Daddy
a can of 'Cold Beer' Cant beat that

To be honest havent been to any pubs in Orlando for many years, Used to know the owners of an English
pub on the 192, but that was way back in 1988, we used that a lot then

I quite like the bar at Ruby Tuesdays but you can't sit outside...shame.

It'd be nice sitting outside your own villa I suppose but 1. I'm stopping at hotel this time. 2. Lack of atmosphere.

    Happy holidays everyone!

    I agree Lesley

Once you know you dont have anymore driving. A nice long cool drink or 3 just dozing off as the sun
    sets is the best

God People what is wrong with you!!!!!!!!!!!
You travel for best part of a day to get to your destination that’s in another country with a different culture (well kind of)
You do the entire touristy things, do you ever try to mingle with the natives????

I don’t drink and drive either but I always try and take the family to family type places where you can mingle with the yokels and join in, surely you are not all just going to say villa, pool, drink,

I’m sitting here its 4.10pm on a Sunday my kids are playing in the pool my wife is sitting on the sun terrace with her book with a lemon and lime tall one, and all is well in the world but I would sooner be in Florida getting ready to drive to Down Town Disney for a nice meal and then sit at the Cuban bar watching the world go by with a tall glass of Diet Coke and watch the kids playing.

Then take a walk along the promenade and stopping off for another when we get to the end and do a bit more people watching.

Yes I love the Villa, Yes I love the Pool yes I love spending time there but I must get out and mix as well

So come on people think where are the best places that you have visited for a drink (not necessarily alcohol) to watch the world go.

Let people like Bridget and me find out what else is out there

Same idea we had, we tried one day to go to oldtown Kissimee (as we thought this will be the place to be if you want to mingle with the locals) and see if we could get a drink (not alcoholic drink, honest) and sit outside, just want to see and meet some locals. Park the car, got outside the air-conditioned car and walk along the street and tried to find some place where we could get a drink, so up and down the street but could not find one, we probably in the wrong place. We end up just buying ice cream (this is in hardware shop) and went back to our nice cool air conditioned car as it was too hot to eat the ice cream outside and too hot to walk further.

Next time we have to ask the locals where best place to be?

    Villa, pool, drink

Biggest decision is whether to lounge on the side, sit in the spa or float on a floating recliner.

The villa does it for us every time. I'm not one for pubs or bars at home (too loud and smoky for my liking) and would not want to do bars on vacation. We get plenty of mixing with the locals at restaurants and the inevitable visits to Home Depot etc etc that comes with owning a villa. We also do try and do different things when we go to experience the local culture - you get to see a lot more doing this than you will from the inside of a bar any day in my books.

What's good for one person is not good for another and obviously people like to do things in different ways.
