    phoning florida

    I've been given a number to contact in Florida in the form of 123-456-7890 can someone advise what the international code is from UK

    Do I just add 001 to the number, or does the first digit of the number drop off like the zero does in uk

    All US phone numbers are in the format xxx-yyy-zzzz. The xxx is known as the area code and for a lot of the Orlando area this is 407.

    If you want to dial a US number from the UK, just add a 001 on to the front of the full number above.

    Have a look here before you phone, you can get phone calls to the USA for 1p per min. It does work!, quite a few people I know have been using it for several months with huge savings

    Well you got the code to dial from the UK Andy, but are you not suspicious of the phone no? What part of the States is it supposed to be?

    I think Andy was just using those numbers as an example of the format the telephone number he was given came as!!!!

    Many thanks for your replies, the number was just a format as the actual number is of the villa we will be staying at and will leave it with relatives in UK if they need to get in touch with us.

    I would have posted the "real" tel number but now knowing just how friendly and chatty you lot are you might all want to come around for a laze by the pool, we would of course be accomodating...if fact we do have one spare day on the itinery
