Airlines slash their prices for flights on Sept 11

Anyone looking for a last minute break at a great price, Yahoo News reports today that the transatlantic airlines are slashing their prices for flights on September 11th as they have so many empty seats. People are reticent to fly on that date for obvious reasons and the events of the weekend in Sweden will not have helped much. A lot of villas are also vacant ( methinks possibly for the same reason) so anyone out there who does not worry about such things could get a great deal.

They have posted these offer since this summer when i was in Fl. The only problem is one way is practically free and some in the states are free but on the way back they are charging regular prices so not sure that you are getting a bargain flying out of Europe but in the states i know Spirit airlines usually have one way flights for as little as $79. Wish i could go in Sept.

We're flying to Barcelona on Sep 11. Flying on that date doesn't really bother me. We didn't deliberately choose that date to get a cheap flight it just worked out that was the best time to go.

It didnt say it was a one way flight only. Usually they are a return, so if it is cut price going out, the return is cut price as well.

My daughter has just booked someone a rtn flight on Concorde to NYC, departing on Sept 11 for £2000. Still a little bit pricey for my pocket!

Are there any restrictions on when they have to return?

What happened in Sweden at the weekend?

I've been in the villa and never turned the TV on so have missed a whole week of news!
