This sounds about right for October, it is an expensive (but good) time to go. If you hold on Virgin will book up

Virgin seem to be able to sell seats and fill flights whatever the time of year - certainly on the Manchester route - it's always totally full when we have been on it and the tickets are very hard to come by - we are even having to book for Christmas 2005 now to ensure we get seats [msnscared].

darren, is this direct with virgin or thru a broker?

i booked up last week for jul 11 the bottom line was £2504.
on the tickets it says £600 for adults and £443 for kids.
we needed 3 and 1 cos the kids are 13 and 9.
that comes to £2223, but we got 17 days gold package in a mondeo size for £289 extra. this was a fly drive deal with car paid upfront and clearly they have discounted things somewhere.
the best quote i found was from this site, which we'd previously used in may at around the £435 mark for a 4 door intermediate, this time.
but on this deal i had to take their car. they did mumble something about having to sell the car with virgin flights, but it was a saving any way, and at the end of the day i wanted those flights

i just checked virgins web and the flights alone are £ 2765. i know there is nothing like a free lunch, or car, but for a bit of ringing around , the jobs a good un!

i couldve got a cheaper cattle truck like we used in may then considered an upgrade, but we had to go on jul 11 and wanted to go for longer than 14days, and we've used virgin a number of times with satisfaction

so. start with this site then check out teletext and net sites and work out your best individual and package prices. remember they dont all sell virgin flights . play them off against each other using the cheapest components. they'll eventually work out when youre fibbingand youll work out just how far you can push them[msnwink]

October is half term and certainly as a villa owner they are the second easiest dates of the year to sell to guests (Easter is the easiest) - I would therefore think there are a lot of people wanting to go at that time and so the airlines can put their prices up and still sell seats [msnsad]

It is expensive as schools have half term in October and many now have 2 weeks off which gives long enough to visit Florida without missing any school. Consequently flight prices rise

I think it is a good time to go as the weather is usually very good (comparable with Easter). The parks tend also not to be as busy as they are at Easter and in the summer

Seems expensive to me, US Airways are coming out under £500 for an adult from either Manchester or Gatwick.

Cheers Trev this is for October 2005 so i cant really book flight only kind of thing, but virgin Holidays will allow you to book flydrive for these dates now and since there is nine of us i wanna get them booked up [msnwink]

The first price was from a local agent but virginholidays site is doing the same flights for £539 which is a nice 10% saving, will keep hunting around
