nipping off to the bahamas for a couple of days?

    hi all,

i've managed to sneak a 17 day jolly back to the land of the mouse in july, under the guise of a family holiday/ plot inspection trip.

we are planning a mixed bag with about a week in one villa , a week in another and maybe 3/4 days in the bahamas.

i remember going over for 2/3 days back in 88. flew on a propellor jobbie from miami left cases in big lockers etc.

has any one been over recently, with who costs and advice etc

whilst over there i am gonna try the comfort suites next to atlantis, that angua mentioned in her thread.

    all advice gratefully recvd.

(managed to get the kids addicted to shamu.com !)

Hi there is a tour you can go on it cost £140 per adult and £95 fitrst child £745 second child they pick you up in orlando and you end up in Grand Bahamas for 36 hours. They do not do the flyingone any more which use to be a Laker flight. he has withdrawn from the route.

    Hi Trev

We are flying to the Bahamas during our visit to Orlando in July. We are flying dirct from MCO to Nassau. Flights were booked on Expedia.co.uk. I think they cost around £150 each. We are flying with Delta. Can't wait, really looking forward to staying in Atlantis.

    Hi TREV,
I did a post on the Bahamas earlier this year as we quite often go.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

don't forget the Bahamas....just 100 miles east of the coast.Various ferries cruse ships do the trip.Disneys ship is fantastic but pricy and it only takes you mainly to their own island.A REALLY great trip for british folks (as you have travelled majority of the way)is chalks airways out of fort lauderdale to nassua beach.($98 each way)the plane is a grumand sea plane which lands in the sea right next to paradise island. If you could find it in yourself to give up a few park tickets you might find it in the budget. If any one tries it let me know how you enjoyed it(or not)i persuaded a few of our guests to do a wekend and they could not stop talking about it(it could of also been the $500 they lost in the casino).....................o

Don,t forget also that by flying Chalks it will save you the $50
taxi ride from the airport to paradise island as its miles away.
ALSO if you call ATLANTIS and ask for JOHN LISSEL, explain you are a regular gambler and own a vacation home in the US,and that you request a prefered room rate, you may stay in ATLANTIS for the same amount as the comfort suites.Never know you may also win at the casino to.

Bahamasair and Delta do a code share on the MCO to NAS route.

We stayed at The Radisson Cable Beach Resort and Spa about 4 years ago.

Private beach and full use of the 24 hr casino in the Marriott next door without having to step outside (the 2 hotels are connected by a corridor).

Was a bit more pricey than Florida, but well worth the visit.

Trevlad ,try to pop into the Drop Off pub on the main street ,great food and good atmosphere, just opposite the cruise ship terminal and look for Bobby, the owner, tell him Errol from Wales,ex Carnival Slot Tech says hi,and he may get you a long cool pint of Strongbow.

We telephoned Atlantis direct to make our 3 night booking. Cheaper than the website. We also mentioned we were Florida residents and asked if they had any deals. We are staying in the Beach Towers (cheapest).
We fly out on 10 July for 3 nights.
