    Chip and Pin

Will the new credit/debit cards that are being issued that use chip and pin technology instead of a signature work in the USA or will we have to revert back to a signature ?

Publix asked me for my PIN number for my Visa Delta Card but it wouldn't work.
My AMEX card worked but as signature only.

Yes, we've not long come back and used our new chip 'n' pin there but very rarely are you asked for your PIN as just a signature apparently works there!

We had no problems using ours recently. If it does not like the pin you can use a signature.

Everywhere we used our debit cards requested you enter a PIN this time. Was very convienient although a coupld of places did not even require you to enter a PIN which I thought was a little dangerous as with no PIN or signature require it would be very easy for someone to use and abuse a stolen card [msnsad].

We have never been able to use dr cards (UK that is and I assume thats what is meant) in Publix.
Wwe used our US dr card in Lowes and the LCD screen to use was as large as a small TV with no shield for privacy - the people next in line were brits and thoughtfully 'looked away'[8D]
